DS goes to Nan & Grandads tomorrow for a few days which will be nice for him (I will miss him though even though Ive wanted to put him on Freecycle a couple of times the last few weeks :rotfl:) so had better pack his bag
The summer holidays are flying by and a couple of us have already mentioned c*******s - eeeek I always think once they go back in Sept they start on christmas plays and things and then it comes round so quickly

’mornin all.
Well, after an exhausting week working with DS to sort out his sitting room etc. etc., and having said goodbye to him at 06.00 yesterday I spent most of the day dozing.
Last night I decided to knit some Teddies for Tragedy as a change from squares & so, located some nice colours for trousers & tops – went to get the lovely fawn colour I know I have but... no, not in the box I was thinking of so off to the loft I went - up the ladder, switch on the light & !!!!!!!! Bulb went...
OK so down the ladder again, located light bulb & torch, back up the ladder, changed bulb – nothing ????????? down the ladder, located fuse box tripped the switch all ok again. Back up the ladder trawled through the 4 closest boxes – no fawn wool. Grrrrrrr!
Down the ladder, poured a drink, fumed for a while too worked up to knit & decided I do not like my stash up in the loft !……….. watch this space!
HUGS to all!

Hi everyone. I've just realised that I don't think I've been on here today! I had to rush off this morning to pay a bill that I had completely forgotten about; I only found it by chance because I was looking for something else! Cue, long long queue at La Poste!
Pippa - have the most fantastic time. I know you'll love Chalky and her DH! I bet you are all really excited about meeting, aren't you?
Chalky - enjoy meeting Pippa! I bet she's just as lovely as I can imagine she is!
Oh, Pam - I just hate days like that! I can well sympathise with you; how frustrating, in the end, not to find the wool you wanted. Hope today has gone better for you.
Kinsey, F1widow, and Sock-knitter - I'm a bit mojo-less at the moment. I think it's the lack of time that has stolen mine from me. I've been so busy that it's difficult to be able to settle down to knitting or crochet without waiting to be interrupted.
Anyway, on the plus side, I am going to book our ferry back to the UK as soon as I've put the dinner on, so there is much to look forward to. We should leave here on the 7th Sept, and come back on the 17th
On the real plus side, can you believe that Summer is One Year Old today?!!! Because I can hardly believe where the last year has gone.

Evening all! Survived day 2 and beginning to feel a bit more relaxed.Mainly I think because I feel I can be open with the manager and talk to her about fears/worries etc openly and she is encouraging which is nice! Also getting to know the team a bit and am making them all cupcakes for tomorrows team meeting!
Managed a couple more hexes for blanket and determined to finish that before starting anything else! Well maybe a wee ripple attempt!
Have to say i do feel quite tired though and am really pleased that Im not working friday!
Hope you have a lovely time Pippa; hope you caught up ok May, pfungi why on earth is stash hidden away, one must watch it, touch it, stroke it! Cant do that if its in the loft plus it must get v lonely up there on its own!!

meeeee! mwah ha ha... i stole the collective mojo and am coveting it jealously by the sea with fish and chips and an ice-cream ;-) i used it to crochet a baby-size aran hooded vest-thing today, just needs sewing up! i also did the washing up, painted my son's doctor who airfix figures with basic colours ready for finishing touch details, did 3 loads of washing up, phoned WFTC peeps and was on hold for 40 mins, helped son pack bag for a couple of days - he is now staying with family till thursday and filled some important paperwork forms in and posted them. You can have the mojo back now as i am back at work tomorrow after some WELL needed days off on holiday, lol.
hugs to all, and thanks for the nice words about dad.
ISOM - really happy to hear your new work is going well, i hope your violin playing isnt going to suffer? (ashamed to admit it was an instrument i ALWAYS wanted to learn and wasnt allowed as a child, so 5 years ago my wonderful dad bought me one of my own... and after 5 mins i could make sounds like a cat wasnt dying but thats as far as i got and its curled up cosy and warn and dry in a case in my attic now, sigh... never enough hours in the day, are there?)

Hello to one and all
Of course we are so looking forward to meeting Pippa and her OH on Thursday -- Devonshire Cream Tea all organised-- in my head that is.
Well just as I thought things are really beginning to get busier here as DD2 leaves on the 1st of Sept. I am determined to get her room totally decluttered before she goes-- That is a mammoth task and 1 which quite frankly is way down her pecking order!!!!
So its 1 car boot sale before she goes!!
I decided to buy a pattern for DD1'S work trousers. It is absolutely ages since I have done " big girls " sewing --- zips and waistbands etc but all going well so far. DOH thinks its hilarious and says for all the effort it must be easier to buy them but that is seriously missing the point. I think these firms just charge the earth because it is a niche market!!
Anyway if it all turns out alright they should work out at about £6 a pair instead of nearly £20 - £30.It is a bit strange that the back seems to fit better as the front and vice versa but ?????????
So the machine is whirring making soap bags for travelling etc etc and the trousers but its all good fun.
As for woolly stuff I am trying another Manta Ray for a 30th birthday present for a friend. I have got to exactly the same place as last time and got stuck Soblivion came to my rescue last time. I remember I was just overcomplicating things so will have another go tonight
Sorry very long post but love to all as always xTry and do a good deed every day.0 -
hope nobody minds me writing my troubles on here
just as i was beginin to think the boys had started to calm down, out of the blue daniel starts again, first verbally abusing me, and then he got pysical, pushed me in to cooker, had his hands round my neck, managed to push him away, but he grabbed me again in the hallway pinned me against the wall, banged my head into the wall, and again tried strangling me, managed to push him off, and opened the front door, and somehow managed to get him outside. i quickly locked the door, and rang the police, who have been and arrested him. they took a statement from me.
now they have gone, i feel strange, guilty that i have had my own son arrested, i love him so much, its breaking my heart to know he is in a cell down at the police station. worried for his future, as well as for my own
thanks for letting me vent
hugs all
