f1 dont know what you mean?!!
Socky sorry things been so tough. Hope things improve. In saying that also hope DS comes to understand that he cant assault people! I know kids with adhd struggle with impulse control but still...hang in there.
Work was more relaxed today and the choc brownies went down well! Ive now got cases after asking for them; was getting bored reading pols and would rather get stuck in! Also able to make myself useful which was good! Slowly slowly catchy monkey! Off to masterchef final, the closer and my hex blankie with a glass of merlot!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Shaz - I am so glad Daniel is back at home. Hopefully, you'll have a better night's sleep tonight. It would be lovely if you could meet up with Mary, wouldn't it? I hope you can fix something up. Don't forget that we are all here for you so please post if things get on top of you again; I know it helps sometimes just to get things written down. Have a great - and relaxing - evening. Lots of (((hugs))) to you all.
F1Widow - ooh, er! Nudge, nudge, wink, wink! Have a lovely romantic evening! I know some time ago, someone on the OS Daily thread mentioned using Approved Foods (can't remember who, though) and they were very pleased with them. Might be worth asking on there?
ISOM - so glad that everything is going so well at work!

Well done ISOM - hope work continues to go well.
So glad Daniel is safe at home SOCKY and fingers crossed that good comes out of the trauma.
I have used Approved Foods F1WIDOW and think that they are fab - some things are out of date but not anything that is likely to be inedible because of it. Have found quality of items good and delivery very reliable. Just don't get too carried away by the sight of all the bargains or you don't actually save money!0 -
Well I am so pleased to hear things are settling a bit Shaz I so hope this continues over the next few days.
Busy day here as DOH is painting the outside of the house. DD1 and Buster came to help!!! Of course this is all in Pippa's honour!
I am certainly going to have to flick the duster around tomorrow. Not so nervous of this meet as our meet with Kathy was so brilliant1
Of course still sorting for DD2'S departure. She manages to go through one set of things each night after work but it is in more of a muddle tham when we started at the moment -- but I can see it will all be worth while x
Sleep tight everyoneTry and do a good deed every day.0 -
Hi everyone
Shaz - I hope you and the boys had a good night's sleep and that today is a brilliant day for you all.
Oh, Chalky - I bet you are so excited now! I can't wait to hear how the meet goes but I am absolutely sure you will get on like a house on fire! Say 'hi' to Pippa for me - we've missed her posts on here lately!
F1widow - I wonder if you're on cloud 9 this morning after your romantic evening? Hope you had a lovely time!
Maytaurus - Hope you have a good day today.
Well, I have actually finished the cushion that I have been working on (very occasionally) over what seems like months! I shall take photos later when it's daylight and post them. Next project is definitely a cat blanket for ISOM - it will be a great way to use up some chunky wool that I have in my stash. I also need to decide on my 'ferry-crossing-crochet-project'. Last time I made lots of different squares (the passenger footwell in the car looked like a wool shop, and poor DH had to carry my knitting bag around with him on the boat!), but I think it will be easier if I stick to one large granny square blanket in two or three colours this time, and maybe I shall also take one ball of baby wool and crochet some ten-minute preemie hats. I also can't wait to stock up on more wool - DH can't understand how excited I am at the prospect, but I know YOU will all understand, won't you? He daren't complain if he has to come to the shop with me - I had to admire some boring old DIY tools when we were shopping recently!
I still have to sort out birthday presents for DS1 (it's his birthday the day we sail back - and mine, too!), and also finish off the presents for my Mum's birthday, so I will be trying to concentrate on that over the next few days. I also have to help with the plastering today (yawn), one of the companies I write for has given me a lot of work this week with tight deadlines (I don't mind that, and it's more pennies for the wool fund!), and the holiday cottage will be vacated on Saturday, so I will have to do the changeover on Sunday (don't mind that because I love the house and the village it's in and, again, it means more pennies!) so the next couple of weeks will fly by. It's less than three weeks until we leave so I shall be counting the sleeps soon (as well as panicking!).
Louis has been gone three weeks today but I don't have the heart, yet, to pack his bowls, toys and carry-basket away, but I'm beginning to think that we've probably seen the last of him. I shall still ask my neighbour to keep checking and to put some cat food by the back door once a day, just in case he comes back while we're away.
On the animal front, the farm that backs onto our garden is still busy. The farmer has recently retired but it seems that the young lad who works with him has taken over the herd. Yesterday, the biggest bull you could imagine was out in the field trying to make himself irresistible to twelve females who were more interested in grazing! I wonder if he had any success overnight? Perhaps he didn't like an audience!
Well, I think I'll have another cuppa - DIL1 made sure she brought loads of 'proper' teabags with her when they all came to stay last month, so it's lovely to enjoy the real thing! I shall be stocking up again, of course, when we're back in the UK!
Anyway, hope you all have a lovely day.
KathyXX
Oops, I've just remembered that I haven't done the update this week. I shall definitely try and do it today!KNIT YOUR SQUARE TOTALS:

mioliere so sorry Louis hasn't turned up yet, he could have wandered quite a long way and is being fed by a few different people, have heard of that happening with toms. Cats are so independant aren't they.
Shaz hope all is going well today.
Chalky and Pippa have a lovely 'meet'.0 -

Kathy, I'm so sorry that Louis hasn't turned up yet, he'll probably appear when the weather turns a bit colder. It feels very muggy here today but lovely and sunny. I'm just having a quick cuppa before doing a quick tidy and then it's the dog's swimming.
Sockknitter, I live at Thorne just off the M18, it's about 30 minutes to the White Rose Centre. PM me if you want to arrange something. I will knit you some bits for your stall, I don't have much on the needles just now.
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Here are some photos of the old chair I've managed to save from the tip! It was already blue so I decided to keep it blue but did not intend it be quite such a bright shade! I'm toying with the idea of rubbing it down a bit to soften it. The blanket and cushion have been made out of oddments of wool - which is why the back is completely different from the front! I just use crochet ties to keep cushion covers closed (makes it easier for washing!) I'm not sure how long the chair will last because it's very old but I like seeing it in the corner of the dining room with its blanket and cushion at last!
