Thanks for that information PTB, was thinking about the suggestion but wasn't sure, it's sounding more like a great idea now. I'll go and look for some of the sites you've mentioned.0

Hi Ianna - a very warm welcome to you! Looking at the patterns you need DK (double knitting) wool and size 3.25mm (old size 10) needles. If your knitting is too tight, try size 4mm (old size 8) needles. Thanks for the reminder about the closing date for the hats - it will be here before we know it! We would love to see photos of the hats you make!

Yeah ! DD2 managed to get hold of someone else on T Mobile and they have agreed to reduce the cost to £5 a month which is about£60 instead of £300!!!!
So Doh and I are so relieved and quite proud of ourselves for saying nothing similar to "surely you must have thought about all this when you renewed" or trying to organise things for her!
Well I send lots of love to you allTry and do a good deed every day.0 -
Chalky - well done to DD2! That's a relief all round, I expect, and you didn't have to say what you could have said to her!

Hi all, sorry I haven`t popped in for a few days, been chasing my tail I`m afraid, and like some of the rest of you been having a problem with missing mojo. Such a pain when it goes awol.
Well, DS had his birthday on Wednesday and along with his cards was a letter from the hospital confirming the date of his operation - he has to present himself at the ward on Tuesday for op on Wednesday next week 24/25th. So you can imagine why my head has been spinning the past few days. We`ll all be glad when it`s over and done with.
Brain can`t seem to work -cast on stitches for a scarf last night 308 stitches, did the first knit row and count was only 307 so I thought I had miscounted and just cast on another one to keep the pattern correct on the next row. Did a few more rows and everything seemed fine. Went to bed and while I was having my first coffee of the day this morning I picked it up to do a row - just one as it takes a while.......and noticed a loopy bit at the bottom ???? Yep, you`ve guessed it, I`d dropped a stitch in the very first row and not noticed it, that`s why my stitch count was wrong. So it all got ripped out again.
Then I was at the LH meeting this afternoon and I couldn`t even count to four !!! Started a preemie blanket doing basketweave pattern, 4 knit, 4 purl etc. easy peasy you would think eh ?
NOT SO - I kept going wrong k3 p5 k4 p3 ..........arrgh - gave up in disgust so I think I need a break from the needles for a wee while.
Off to organise some food - have to keep the inner (wo)man fed.

Elaine -thinking of your DS. At least he has a date now; once it's all over, he can get on with the rest of his life and you'll be able to stop worrying so much. Better luck with the next attempt at the scarf!

Evening ladies
oh PSSO - I feel for you i really do - that basketweave has got me on many occasions so much so that I wont do it again - and as for scarves I have tried no end but the amount of stitches - well say no more - as for your mojo - purpleteddybear had them on holiday with her - she promised to send them back - mine came back for one day and then went out again - I think my mojo is male and could have another woman .............. - am pleased that ds has his appointment but know it will be a worry for you until its all over xxx big hugs xxx
oh you lot are in trouble ive seen a lovely bureau on ebay - painted and waxed (not too sure whether the paint is not been painted on a bit too thick for my liking) and a gorgeous shaker dresser - bureau 60.00 dresser 120 - I dont think so at the moment - I would prefer a bureau that needed doing really so I could have a go but in reality I would get it and mess it up or not do anything with it at all
