Hi everyone
PTB - I am so sorry I missed your birthday; I hope you had a wonderful day!
Thanks for all your kind thoughts about my BIL; it's a worrying time for the whole family right now, so I shall be glad to get back there next month at least for a visit, then I shall come back and try even harder to find a buyer for the house, so that I can get back home for good. I really don't feel I'm meant to be here; it's not been our luckiest move, that's for sure.
My mum has won another gold medal! This time it was for boules. She could have taken part in another game but she decided it wasn't fair on the others, so she just watched instead. It just shows that she is settling in and taking part in life there. It does seem to be a very lively care home, and both my sisters say the staff there are really kind and caring, so I am very reassured. I can't wait to see for myself, though.
The weather has been lovely for a few days, but they've predicted thunderstorms today so no doubt I'll have to unplug everything. It was about this time last year that a huge lightning bolt hit the house and destroyed our TV, satellite boxes, a phone, the Livebox and the network drive in my PC, so I don't want to go through that again, as well as the hassle of trying to get a French inusrance company to pay up when they'd really rather not have all the bother!
It has been way too hot here. On Wednesday my outside thermometer read 42 degrees, and it doesn't seem to have cooled down since.
Anyway, I hope you all have a good day.

There is something to be learnt from last nights AMAZING opening ceremony. When you get as old as Sir Paul -- you should sing in the shower-- I do! I absolutely hate "Hey Jude" and when you think of all the young talent who could have sung a poignant rousing tribute to end the ceremony but open the Olympics I thought it was a real shame.
Anyway negativity out the way -- All that flag waving allowed me to finish the lappy I have made for Mrs Twins. You will never believe it but it is made up of a flowery square from the Jan Eaton book no less! I have made one mistake, massive but I can rectify it and then will take a photo! I knew Jan and I wouldn't have it all plain sailing but at least the book didn't bounce off the walls.
Hope everyone has good days
Love to you all xxTry and do a good deed every day.0 -
Morning all...sorry been awol..busy with work and then had to be taken to A&E after I almost passed out in boots...still unsure what made me SO ill but confirmed last night that I have a urine infection which may be the culpret...so a gentle weekend for me. It was another reminder of how lovely people can be...was funny them doing ecg in middle of boots...they lined up a few blokes facing forward to save my dignity!!
Have done a square but think I may make up a blanket and send off..will ask mum if she will do some hedgies for you chalky...
Roaming hope you are building strength...and roofs sorted...

Got boss to beep the horn as she was driving us to work!! Watched much of the ceremony and missed a bit going to out of hours docs..agree with paul mccartney...really out of tune and painful to watch...

ISOM, hope you are ok, there are worse places to take ill I think than Boots
The NHS may be struggling but the paramedics are wonderful aren' t they. Last time we had them here they were so good with OH especially when he got upset - symptom of a blood clot apparently. He is a bit off today but the hospital is looming again - Wednesday - so expecting sleepless nights again, hopefully he will take something to make him sleep this time. Picking DGS up at 4 so we will have plenty to take our minds off everything
have blitzed the house this morning and just going to have an hours crochet to finish another blanket for Mrs T, number 3 of 4 so Im not doing bad.
have a lovely weekend all hugs GinnyClearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0 -
Hmmm, just as well I got most of my weeding done yesterday.
Had a rude awakening this morning just at 8 -so much for my lie in- neighbour playing music very loud. It was a nice morning though when I let the hounds out and the intention was to get rid of the rest of the weeds. Rain has stopped play though once again. I know, I know, I should put on my waterproof and just get on with it ........ha I think not.
Managed to do half a dozen hedgies while watching the shenanigans last night. Must admit I wasn`t impressed with P McC either. He`d have been better miming to a soundtrack, as it was I was cringeing when he went out of tune. Hope they don`t have him back for the closing ceremony
The hedgies will be posted off early next week, think there`s about 20 so far - becoming a bit of an obsession here.:D
Big hugs to anyone poorly or with poorly rellies.Fully paid up member of S.A.B.L.E.

Morn ing all
a quick look round the door, I have escaped for a few minutes...
I enjoyed the ceremony well some of it, I agree P.McC should have stayed home, a few seconds of him was more than enough it was embarassing, I turned him off and went to bed
But I got a few hedgies done, were we all doing them I wonder???
Got to go they are all waiting for me now...makes a change
Will try and get back in later and post my update
TTFN Love to all
