Well it`s good to see SOME people are having some summer weather. I`ve got rain here - again - and it`s my day off !!!! No surprise there then.
I believe it`s going to be better over the next few days and of course I`ll be working :p

Chalky - I have a few hedgies here looking for a new home. Will it be OK to send them `flat packed`for you to stuff and put faces on ? The one I`m doing right now is a bloomin pest. Very thin eyelash stuff so have doubled it and now of course it splits in two now and again so I land up with extra stitches  there has been a lot of `adapting` and naughty words being used. Thankfully little J isn`t around or he`d be very interested in the new words ;) Your William looks sooooo delicious - we`re very lucky to have precious bundles to cuddle aren`t we ? That goes for all the members of the Grandma club here of course.

Kathy - hope it isn`t too long before you get a buyer.
Shaz - good to hear you feel a bit better now and your boy has a job. He might settle down a bit now.
Jean -hope the hooligans haven`t worn you out completely.
Pippa - good to hear DH is feeling well enough to be DIYing.
Ginnyknit - hope your DH isn`t suffering toooo much and he gets the treatment he needs soon.
ISOM - you`ll be a shadow of your former self. Don`t go too near any drains or you might slip down them.:)

Brain fade is setting in now but Happy Birthday / Anniversary to those celebrating and thanks for the good wishes and hugs. Much appreciated.

Off to load the tumbley again and see what to feed the gang with tonight.

Hello all - thank you all so much for my birthday wishes - all was lovely until in the evening when I had a huge bust up with my MIL (shall not bore you!)
anyway I had a lovely bunch of flowers and chocs from the boys - my Mum and Dad, sister, brother inlaw and little nephew are hopefully coming saturday - i cant wait :j:j have not seen them for over a year.

Great about Josh's job shaz, so pleased that hubby is feeling better pippa hope he is not overdoing it (but that is men for you), nice to hear from you PSSO - we miss you when you are not around, chalky I have hedgies for you (but im sorry they are coming flat-packed as im out of stuffing and if i put the faces on they will scare people away! - i hope its not too much work for you)

If I disappear for odd days Im sorry (but am always thinking of you lovely ladies) what with the holidays and Im on a new counselling/physio regime (phew it takes about 3 hours of my day doing bits and pieces Im not used to that and dont they know thats taking up valuable knitting time!:D)
Hubby picked up the best exercise bike from Freecycle for me - it must have cost a fortune and has hardly been used - felt guilty actually when he brought it home that we had been given it for free!

As sock-knitter says new challenges are up on LH - very exciting ones very different - have knitted a birds nest already!

Anyway stomachs are calling so Im away - hugs and much love to all xx take care all of you and hopefully enjoy the sun if you have it xxx

Pippa Im glad your Hubby is feeling upto doing a bit of decorating, it helps to be busy doesnt it. My OH had a very bad week and I was quite scared he would have another breakdown, Wednesday night everything came to the boil and eventually he calmed down and we talked through everything. He is banging pieces of wood in the back garden at the mo to make signs for the fishing place he goes to - in return for a years free fishing :j Dont know how often he will be able to go but it does help him to relax and he has a friend who is there and he watches over him.

Im enjoying the warmer weather and have all my washing out like you Pippa. Roaming and Psso hope the weather is helping you feel better and you are doing ok.

I think I had better go and make some tea as I didnt get a look in at lunch with DGs being there :)

  • Greetings from very hot and sunny West Yorkshire -- stunning summer we've had today!

Quickie - anyone near Axminster way(ish) - am down camping from the 6th August for a week and a bit --- geography is not my strong point, but if there is anyone that way (Axminister is nearest big place I can think of, staying on the Dorset/Devon/Somerset border) or thereabouts? Can travel.....

Chalky - some flatpacked hedgie roadkill will be on their way to you soon, found a basket of eyelash stuff that I have to use!

    Dawn x

Purple Teddy Bear -- I think I am probably closest to Axminster-- It is about an hour from us but I am ever so sorry we have visitor that same week -- But I hope you have a lovely time!

Pippa -- I will get the calendar out tomorrow and get back to you with dates as it would be lovely if they coincide. So glad things are better with Doh.

Ginnyknit -- Lots of gentle thoughts,

    Love to Mia's
Try and do a good deed every day.
  • I have the bubbles .....bought them just for me....but I see I am sharing them with William...how wonderful is that! Will blow some more today -it's a giant size bottle and will last us all summer long!

Ginny - doesn't matter what he is banging about with the wood and the nails it just takes his mind away from other things at that specific time and that can only be good.....

F1 - if you promise to spend time on the exercise bike I will too....I need some sort of inspiration to even get into the saddle!

ISOM - Great to see you are still on the way DOWN (In weight).

PTB- holiday??? Well I hope you get more that just one day of SUMMERTIME.

PSSO - The sun will shine again in your wee spot on the map - just have
to wait and be a wee bit patient.

Monsters left on Sunday and DH returned with dirty pampervan inside and out - he is off to the pampervan mender man today....seems to have a wee bit of a problem with the electricals - probably too much telly and far too much cold beer kept in the fridge!

SIL and her Beau are off the ferry this morning and heading rapidly for us - three whole weeks, their builders rolled up yesterday morning while I was in the shower and chook without head mode..... so I just let them jolly well get on with it. Poor blokes looked exhausted by lunch time as they are removing the whole roof and the sun was beating down all day.

Well I shall go and get caught up with a swift clean through - then I will get the grass cut prior to the sun getting up and it getting really warm
You all have a great day - I intend to.

    Hi everyone

Sorry I’ve not been around. I’ve had loads of work on, and I’ve been catching up with domestic paperwork, too (there’s always paperwork to do here!), and the days have just flown by. We also seem to have spent a lot of time on Skype lately talking to family and friends. The home where my mum is has the internet, so my sister took her laptop in and I was able to talk to them both. Mum was very cheerful, but it’s as if she’s continually being distracted, so it was difficult trying to have a sensible conversation with her, but it made us all laugh, including her; she can see the funny side of it all, thank goodness. She still knows us all; we’re dreading the time when she doesn’t.

Sadly, my BIL’s news is not so good; he has been having stomach pains, and his latest scan has revealed that the cancer has spread to his lymph nodes and stomach lining. They’ve given him the choice between chemo in hospital, or tablets he can take at home – he’s chosen the tablets because it means he doesn’t have to stay in hospital. They say all they can offer him is palliative care, so it’s not looking hopeful. We spoke to him on Skype the other day, and he was his usual positive self; that attitude has given him twenty one more months than was predicted when he was first taken ill, so we can only hope it will have the same affect again.

Ginnyknit – thinking of you and your OH. It’s a worrying time for you both.

F1 – I am so sorry I forgot your birthday; I’m glad you had a good day, and hope the row with your MIL didn’t spoil it too much.

Mrs Moneypenny – belated Happy Anniversary to you and your DH.

Chalky – what a lovely photo of William; he’s looking really bonny!

Pippa – sounds like you had a lovely time with Mrs Twins. Hope your OH is feeling as well as can be.

Mrs Twins – what lovely photos!

Purple Teddy Bear – did you get my pm?

Jean – hope you are finding time for a break. I hope, too, that Edna has gone away.

Elaine - hope life is treating you as well as can be.

ISOM – saw your photo on FB a few days ago; you’re doing so well, aren’t you?

Shaz – hope life is not too challenging at the moment.

Hugs to all of you, and those who are MIA, and that we haven’t heard from for a while.

Well, I still have lots of work to do, but at least it’s bringing in funds for our trip back home so that I can spoil mum and the grandchildren, and build up my wool stash again, although I’m barely doing any knitting or crochet; I can manage just a few stitches in the evenings, then I doze off! I think some of that is due to work, and some to the fact that I’m still a bit chesty; there’s a lot of pollen about at the moment, so I think that’s the problem. I don’t really want to wish for rain, but it’s forecast in a few days time, and it will damp down the pollen, hopefully. Luckily, DH is a lot better now, and back at work.

Still no luck with the viewings; it’s all gone a bit quiet again now. The private ads we’ve taken out need renewing, so I must try and get round to doing that some time today.

Anyway, will love you and leave you for now.

Mioliere your BIl sounds like a lovely man, attitude is a lot to do with cancer isnt it. Everytime OH see's DGS you can see him willing himself to get through. So good that you got to Skype with your Mum much better than a phonecall especially if she is distracted.

Been for a short wander to a little local shopping centre that has a craft shop. Was a very good ginny and only spent £7 but its given me a few new bits to play with.

Chalky can you pm me your address so I can post your hedgies later in the week xx
