Thanks, Ginnyknit; you'll know what it's like for my sister. Grandchildren do have a remarkable effect, don't they? Hope your OH has a good day today.
Mrs Moneypenny - I'll take hug today, thanks, but please give one of mine to Lily - how is she doing?
Well, it seems that my Mum has won this year's first Olympic medal (I know it was only a skittles match in the residential home, but it's still a medal, and the match was Olympic-themed!), and things seem to be going quite well.
I've got lots of work to do today, but I will try and get a couple of half hour sessions out in the blazing sunshine we have here. I see from the UK forecast that you are all enjoying the same weather, which is wonderful.
My wheezy chest has gone, and I think I know what the culprit was; the farmers here have been hay-making day and night for the last few days, and the dust from that has been flying around everywhere. They didn't do any yesterday, and I've been much better. I know I can't do anything to stop them - they have to 'make hay while the sun shines', and I wouldn't dream of saying anything, but I'll be prepared next time I hear the machines start up!
Anyway, back to work, I suppose.
I hope you all have a good day.

Hi All
Thanks for all the good wishes for OH he is coming along very well and all Doctors seem pleased with his progress, he still has problems with deafness in the one ear from the RT, and it seems to be taking some time to heal itself...thats if it does...but its a small price to pay for getting rid of the cancer.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY PTB :bdaycake::bdaycake::bdaycake:
Sorry I am late but I hope you have had a lovely day xx
40 you are just a chicken...I'm well into pension agedon't feel it though...
chalky - awww William just gets cuddlier and cuter all the time. will PM you tomorrow.
kathy - well done to your Mum the first winner of a gold medal :T It's lovely to hear she is chatting on skype even if she does get distracted at least you can see her. I am sorry to hear your BIL is going through a very tough time again, I am sending positive vibes and a little prayer for Bil and your sister x
Ginnyknit - banging bits of wood about works wonders OH resorted to that as well, I think it got rid of some of the frustration the eternal waiting between hospital visits and results caused. I know what you mean when the Grandchildren come they bring a little ray of sunshine with them:)
f1-jean - how on earth do you sit on those exercise bike saddles...you would think with all the padding I have on my rear end it would be ok but  no....
I have been working on a mix of things lately... butterflys for SIBOL, IS Hats, Hedgehogs and a Prem baby hat for Pam's niece's baby she now weighs 3 lb 8 ozs
OH is off out to play snooker, DS2 has picked DGS up ...so I am off for a shower and then paint my toes

Help! I am baffled - nothing new there - I knitted a mans hat in chunky but when I cast it off the edge wasn't stretchy, it was a little tight. I pulled it back and redid it knitwise instead of rib but still the same. Anybody have a better idea of how to do it?? xxxxClearing the junk to travel light

Evening all
Another gorgeous day off for a shower next so a quick post....
We are picking the DGD's up tomorrow for a week, we meet them all at Oxford as its about half way between them and us,they live in Haywards Heath, it saves us going on the M25 as well.
So I may not be around much for the next week
ginnyknit - If I have a problem like that I cast off using larger needles and in rib, it usually solves the problem
jean - that sounds even worse :rotfl:
chalky - I have a few different colours of eyelash yarn blue, white, pink and a sort of pinky fluffy boucle will the hedgies be ok done in those colours?
love'n'hugs to all
