just not enough hours in the day but today I have a day off and am taking a friend for a girlie day!! yahoo!
Mrs M have a great birthday and enjoy! Hugs for you ..all sounds a bit much at the mo.
Miol thoughts and prayers with you re mum...dementing illnesses are awful, no two ways about it. I hope she settles soon and feels more familiar but can understand her frustration/confusion as she may have forgotten the in between bit, then gets upset and that makes the ability to remember diminish...so hard for you all..
Chalky lovely piccies of William! Little bundle he is! We have a new baby in church with bright red hair and starting to develop lovely chubby legs! Edible!
Socky hope you are feeling better in yourself? Any breaks planned?
Roaming hope you are ok and that Edna hasnt visited...if so tell her to bog off! big hugs...
Pippa hope dh is going from strength to strength and life has settled for you a bit...
Thank you seakay for your kind comments...there is a long way to go and if anyone feels its an easy way to go then they are mistaken. Its easier to list what I can eat than cant as most things are off the menu...eve things like special k have too much sugar in!! Almost 4 stone lost (2ibs to go!) but still v tired but my b3 is a bit low. Not sure Im always cheerful though lol...if I eat too fast or too much the pain is immense and too much sugar or fat makes me feel rotten! My new addiction is latte...skinny of course!!

Had an email from Innocent Smoothies today with details of the new campaign, where to send hats etc:

We're writing to you as you've been involved with the Big Knit at some point over the past 9 years. Since we started we've raised over £1 million for Age UK to help older people keep warm and healthy during the chilly winter months. So, if you've ever picked up your needles and knitted us a hat or if you've bought one of the smoothies that was wearing one, thank you very much.

We're really excited to tell you that the Big Knit is back again, and we need your help. 25p from every hatted bottle sold will go straight to Age UK, so stretch out those fingers, get your needles out and untangle that wool.
It's time to get your knit on.

We'll be updating our Big Knit website soon, so keep checking in for more information, knitting patterns and news: http://!!!!!!!/cGWBgZ

You can send any finished hats to:
The Big Knit, innocent Drinks, Fruit Towers,
    342 Ladbroke Grove, London W10 5BU

Please make sure they get to us by the 1st of October
so we have time to pop them on our little bottles.
We look forward to seeing your amazing woolly creations.

Hello one and all and lots of love tucked in!
    It's that time again!!!!

    021.jpg

I had a lovely email from the lady from the hedgehog hospital and have just taken up the latest batch of hedgies!
So, I had a little trip to the wool shop and tucked some of the money away for postage funds-- It helps so much when sending the blankets after Operation Stitch Up!

She was really sweet and said the shop seems empty without them :)

Kathy-- What a star Sam is -- no wonder you are so justifiably proud. Super news!Hope Mum continues to settle.

    Ginnyknit-- How are things?

Jean -- Has she! left the building yet?

Kinsey, Pfungi,Psso Purple Teddy Bear, May dPIXIE
and all the other MIA'S-- I do miss you. So hope you pop in soon.

Seakay-- Thanks for latest info about the weenie hats.

Take care one and all x

I love the hedgepigs Chalky :) I have a pattern but I think they are bigger than those, never thought of using up eyelash wool in funky colours. I might well do a few for the hedgehog rescue that my friend helps at. Having a week off as Dd and DGS have gone to Wales so no rushing about rescuing them from the rain etc - flipping heck I miss him and its only been 3 days :rotfl:

OH not too good, just trying to get through to Mondays appointment when we will find out whats growing in his bladder - Im a wreck thinking about it. He is pottering about doing bits and bobs to keep his mind off it but you could cut the atmosphere in here at times with a knife.

I have been knitting and crocheting so much stuff that I dont know what to do with it  I made 10 tiny cotton yarn baby bibs the other day, now Im knitting bookmarks that look like pencils. Plus doing my regular things in between.

    Hugs to all Ginny

    Hi everyone

Ginnyknit - will be thinking about your OH on Monday, and you, too. Good luck.

Chalky - another lovely batch of hedgies doing their good work!

Jean - hugs to you wherever you are. I hope life is treating you well.

Thank you all for your continued good wishes for my mum, and for your lovely comments about my DGS, Sam. What a mix of emotions I am going through lately. Mum seems to be settling in a bit now, and we are all keeping our fingers crossed that it will all work out for the best. My two sisters are busy emptying the house, which must be a difficult job for them because mum has so much stuff; it will all go into storage for now.

My online work seems to have gone up a notch, and now I daren't look for any more, because I barely have time to keep up. I really don't want to have to start burning the midnight oil at my age, so I need to keep it to a certain level, and I also want to keep my evenings free or I'll never get any woolly stuff done. The housework is almost non-existent at the moment, but it's only the two of us, so I can neglect things for longer than I could if I still had the children living at home! DH does what he can, so I'm lucky there.

I had the Innocent Smoothie Big Knit email, too, so I think I'll do some of those, in between using up the lovely wool that Chalky gave me when she visited a few weekends ago! I'm using some of it for a bag for my mum but I had to rip half f what I'd done back because I noticed a hole where I'd missed a stitch somehow. I know I could have covered it up with something, but I want it to be as perfect as possible.

Anyway, I'd better get back to work, but it's so nice not to have to commute - the beauty of working from home!

I hope you are all keeping well.

chalky those hedgehogs look fantastic, they really will help raise much needed fuds fr the little prickly ones

had a lovely text off my brother, the hospital allowed lily to go home for a day trip last week, two nurses spent the day with them and my brother said she really seemed to enjoy her day out - what a shame it was only a day.

hello from the Ark in Devon! It is raining stair rods!

Mrs Moneypenny -- Brilliant, wonderful, fantastic -- That is wonderful news.

Kathy-- Go steady there -- You will be burning the midnight oil and candles at both ends if you are not careful. Gentle thoughts for Mum.

    --- Lots of love x

Well my eyes have just popped out of my head. I have just had an email from the hedgehog hospital!!!!!!! I thiught maybe there was a problem with the latest batch og hoglets but no --- She wants some more :eek::eek:

Apparently one of her suppliers is no longer making one of the types of hedgehogs she used to stock and this means she thinks mine will go even more quickly.
So with the Summer holidays approaching she wants another batch.
If anyone would be kind enough to help by making a couple if you have any eyelash wool in your stash I would be ever so grateful. If you would rather send them unstuffed and with no features that is fine.:A

This is the pattern I use but I tend to make mine a little smaller which saves on time and wool!

    http://www.barddance.org/knittering/blueshedgehogpattern.htm

The proceeds do help with sending the KISS THE GEEZER blankets. If you are able to I am quite happy to send some stamps to cover postage. I buy some from the hoglet money so please don't be afarid to ask. I know how hard times are right now. Just pm me !
Hope you don't mind me asking but I have used up my whole store of hedgies and it takes me a while to get a new set together.

Lots of love to one and all Linda
