Hi everyone
Well, after a lovely few days of sun and blue skies, the last three have been cool and grey, so I’m hoping that it will brighten up again soon.
I’ve had a lot of online work over the last few days, so that has kept me busy and the earnings will go into my current Grandchildren-and-Wool Fund! I also have to think of a birthday present for little Megan who will have her first birthday on 16 March (the day before her Mum’s birthday). I can hardly believe that it’s been almost a year since I posted on here that she had arrived! She’s toddling around now and really looking up to her big sister. So far, they get on really well together, so I hope that continues!
We’ve had another house viewing and are keeping our fingers crossed (again!) because the chap who viewed has just started work for the local commune which is based just up the road, and he wants to be closer to work than he is at the moment (which is only about ten minutes away but the French like things to be as easy as possible! How they’d cope with British-style commuting, I don’t know!). Anyway, he was a very nice chap and asked all the right questions, so you never know! Luckily, the sun was in full beaming mode when he came round, so the house and garden were bathed in sunlight. We’ve also had two more enquiries so I’m hoping that they will lead to more viewings this week.
Mrs Moneypenny – I hope little Lily is doing well.
Pippa – how wonderful that you are going on holiday, especially at this time of year when the weather can’t be guaranteed in the UK. I hope you have the most brilliant time; you both truly deserve it after the last few months.
Shaz – thinking of you, and hoping that you are putting yourself first.
Chalky – hope things are going well with the house; I bet you can hardly wait to get it finished! At least you haven’t had to live in it while the work is being done, something I’ve never been able to avoid! Hugs to your MIL; my mum is way under seven stone now. It’s such a worry when they are so slight, isn’t it? My BIL is doing well at the moment. I think he’s just about to get his latest scan results this week, so we are all keeping our fingers crossed. He is still very positive about things, and I think his attitude is going a long way to keeping him as healthy as he can be in the circumstances.
ISOM - I hope the pre-op diet is going well. It’s not long until the 5th March, is it? Good luck; we shall all be thinking of you.
PSSO - We’ve mainly had French people viewing the house, so they know all about the red tape and will be used to it. The Brits – well, if they don’t ask, I won’t tell them! I met a French woman the other day who wants to go back to England where she spent a few years, because she much prefers the way of life there, but her husband, who is English, wants to stay here in France!
Jean - hope things are well with you.
Mrs Twins and Ginnyknit – what a stunning blanket!
Marru – lovely socks in lovely colours!
Well, today I have some online work to do, then I really must tidy up my office. I decided to move my desk on Friday, to make more of the natural daylight from the window. Well, moving the desk was easy, and the light level is much better, but it meant moving everything else in the room, too, but I haven’t had time to sort it all out. It now looks as if we are on the verge of moving out (I wish we were!), so I shall be roping DH in to help me with it later on this morning. I can’t work in a muddle, so I really do need to get it done.
Anyway, it’s early morning here, so I think I shall make another cuppa and go back to bed. I shall have to count up the squares I have been doing this week, then I can post a total for the week.
I hope you all have a great Sunday.
KathyXXKNIT YOUR SQUARE TOTALS:
Squares: 11, Animal blankets: 20 -
Morning all!
Nothing to add to the totals this week but I have done some good stuff; I've gone round 25 squares with white so some sewing up and a boarder to do
I've also been cutting some hexagons from felted cardi remains. I was lucky enough to puck up a couple of slightly damaged cashmere cardigans from charity shops and used them to make cosy beanies for a couple of Christmas presents; I've been trying to decide what to do with the cardi remains as it seems wrong to just chuck them, and I've decided to make up some patchwork squares as they are easier to store until I have enough to be useful.
Can't believe how early you were up this morning Miolere - hope that worry over house sale isn't causing you to lose sleep - don't work too hard once you have your room reorganised.
Wonderful socks Marru - we usually do blanket squares in DK so perhaps 2 strands of sock yarn together if you want to use it up making them? By the way, I notice that your sock heels look like a continuation of the ribed leg - is that an easier way to turn a heel? (I am completely stuck on that)
Love and hugs to all - it's a sunny day here (hooray) so I'mm going to try and get some tidying done in the garden.0 -

Seakay - that sounds like a good idea, will be nice and warm as well
Must go get things sorted everything's all over the place...but...all I really want to do is sit and crochet, I started with a bag of little odd balls last night joined them all together and wound them up, never sorted them just picked one at a time out of the bag so it should be "interesting" Aiming for a large granny square for Mrs Twins thats if it turns out ok
