Evening all
Had a lovely day today...we met up with BIL and SIL down in Tewkesbury for a meal and had a good time catching up with all the news from their kids/grand kids and ours...
We woke up to snow this morning but it had all disappeared by the time we reached the motorway :T
OH said yesterday he feels so much better than he did and guess what!!! he wants to go on holiday, but not too far just a couple of hours or so flight
He has checked with the travel insurance company and they said he will be covered for everything except where the cancer was in his cheek, so he is now looking at Spain...watch this space :rotfl:
chalky - glad you liked the squares...yes I agree getting older is no fun at all...hope your MIL is feeling better now... it was my Mom who we took to the assessment centre...(MIL sadly died in 2010)
jean - the cat bed looks really good you would never know it was made from T shirts... is that what was left over in the background? I bought brooch backs on e'bay as well as kathy said they are very cheap and no P/P
shaz - I am sending you some very gentle (((hugs)))
mrs-m - the post on L/H, I think is in general chat under "Some more sad news"...so pleased the news is good for Lily

Hi everyone. I've been MIA over the weekend. DH's back got better but I think he passed it on to me, so I've been suffering! I think I pulled a muscle when I was moving some boxes around, which made it difficult to sit at my desk for any length of time. It's eased up now, so I think I'm back in the land of the living.
Jean - I love that pet basket; it really is fantastic and you should be very proud of yourself. Any pet would be honoured to sleep in it! By the way, is there a particular pattern you use for the bookmarks, or have you made it up?
Shaz - I am so sorry that you are finding life so challenging but I think you are right to put yourself first. You can't do anything more for the boys and they are certainly capable of looking after themselves and they are in charge of their own lives, so any mistakes they make or trouble they get into is their own fault. I know you can't help worrying, though, but you really must come first in your life now.
Pippa - how wonderful that you are thinking about a holiday! I think you and OH really deserve one after the last few months, so I'm delighted for you both.
Chalky - there's light at the end of that there tunnel, I think!
We had a house viewing last Thursday but have had no feedback since, so we've discounted that one. We almost sold the building plots last week; the chap was really keen and came round four times in all, bringing various family members and his builder friend, but he had to phone us on Thursday evening to say that his bank wouldn't advance him the money he needs to be able to build a house, so we are back to square one. We actually thought that this time we had it in the bag. The chap himself was really disappointed; he may try elsewhere to get finance but, for now, we shall keep the advert going. I shall try not to get too despondent because I know other people are going through a lot worse.
Anyway, thanks for all your totals. I shall add them to the update spreadsheet later on this morning.

F1 asked for the pattern so I posted it on LH, but then remembered she ain't NO HOOKER http://lovinghands.freeforums.org/post108208.html#p108208
Chain for 30, then DC all the way back up the chain. that's the stem DK size 4 mm hook
The flower was Colour A make 6 ch, join with ss into ring. (I do the magic circle cast on loop thing - showing off I have learnt something useful!)
1st round (RS) 1 ch, 11 dc in ring, using Colour B ss in 1ch, 12 sts.
Petals...worked in B (11ch, ss in next dc) 12 times, ending ss in ss of first round. Fasten off and stitch to the stem.

KNITTED VERSION - JUST FOR YOU F1
How about knitting a cord in green - you know that one where you knit it on dpns (about 5 stitches I think....I know you can do that one)
then I have two options for the knitted flowers.....I think one was from Chalky and the other might have been Mrs Moneypenny - I filed them away but as yet haven't got around to them.
MANY THANKS TO PIPPA.S - ANNE for the picture link
DK and size 4mm (old size 8 ) There is only one row to this flower after you have cast on.

Morning all
was just about to count up my totals but see I'm too late again:o so will save them for next week.
Shaz this might shock Daniel and maybe some good will come of it but you must let them make their own mistakes hard as that is.
Pippa S good news about hubby fingers crossed that you get away.
Chalky your sun roof has gone:D
roamin the animal bed looks great much better than sleeping on a floor.
Wish I was better at crochet a granny square is my limit. I look at patterns and my eyes then glaze over. I tried to get a book out of the library to get help with following them but no luck.
Treatment was fun Friday. The nurses struggled to get a vein so I ended up with the cannula in my foot. It was that or wait for a Dr and who knows how long that could have taken. B12 injection this afternoon so who knows maybe I will get my behind in gear and get more done.

Morning all, hope you are all in fine fettle.
Well, I`ve had a few days off so in between taxi-ing the offspring to various appointments I`ve actually managed to do some woolly bits and pieces. Dare I say that mojo is maybe returning at last ? Fingers crossed anyway.
It was snowing on Saturday, had a couple of inches starting in the afternoon with showers off and on all evening. It hasn`t lasted long though, most of it has gone already.
Typical, DD had a night out - no jackets, it`s a wonder they didn`t all get pneumonia - with her friends to say `goodbye` to her teenage years, she`s 20 today ! Where has the time gone.
Pippa, great to hear DH is feeling up to going on a wee holiday. You must be so pleased to feel he is progressing at last.:T
Shaz, sorry to hear the boys are still causing problems for you and themselves. Big hugs for you.
Kathy, I hope your backache doesn`t last long. I get a trapped nerve in mine sometimes and it makes life very difficult when it happens.
Roamin, hope it`s DH`s t shirts you are vandalising and not your own.
chalky, you`ll soon have your house back together at the rate they`re going. The weather hasn`t caused too much delay it seems. Poor little William having those jabs, hope they didn`t upset him too much.
Little J had his first experience of `big boy` sickness at 4am this morning. Deep joy, Mum cleaning him up and Grandma stripping the bed and putting on the washing machine. Dogs wondered what I was doing at dark o`clock !
ISOM, hope your tum is better now and you feel less stressed about getting mum`s flat sold. Deeeep breaths girl.
Well I`m waiting for the TNT man to come and pick up a parcel so have to stay at home. Wonder what I could do to fill in the time. I`ll put the kettle on and go sit with a cuppa and do some woolly stuff. Gotta keep encouraging mojo.
Back later.Fully paid up member of S.A.B.L.E.
