Hi everyone; I've done the update which, for now, you can find by going into Jean's (Roamin in the Gloamin's) name at the side of any of her posts, then going to her 'homepage'. Thanks to you all for your lovely totals!

I think I may have a go at some bookmarks for LH; it'll make a change from squares and is another good way of using up scraps of wool.

At long last, the snow has just about gone from here, and it has warmed up just slightly. I have never been so pleased to see green grass! I just hope it lasts. This last three weeks have been the coldest I have ever known it since we moved here.

Anyway, hope you are having a good day. I would be if I wasn't having to do all DH's paperwork; such a boring boring job!

  • Hi Everyone!
    Just updating on SIBOL news.

Pleased to say our 'Your Local Landscape' Blanket has arrived safely in Jersey to be exhibited at the Jersey Textile Showcase 2012 in March.

Also our Group and our Charity efforts wth the Olympic Blanket has been mentioned in Craftseller which is great and we have already had enquiries about our work.

Also I would like to tell you about 'Craft and Click' magazine I've picked it up from W.h. Smith today. If you like the internet and crafting this magazine in my opinion is a very good read. It gives you useful tips on ebay, flickr, facebook etc., and of course lots on our favourite pastimes! Basically a great guide to 'Crafting on line!'.

    Oh also buying and selling.......

Thank you pippa for square received today, it's gorgeous.

    Thanks everyone!

    Love Suex

Sorry to be so intermittent with postings but electricity is so intermittent at the house just now I have to choose my times!!! Oh and we had a visit from William for a long weekend -- at DMIL's so have had my arms very, very pleasantly full!!!
Thank you for such kind enquiries about DMIL and DDIL. DMIL is a star but does struggle in general a lot of the time.
DDIL unfortunately has to go to the hospital on Monday to have the cyst which is a result of the mastitis drained so she is not looking forward to that. She is so good and really does not complain even though she has had a really tough time. William is still thriving and having his first 2 jabs on Friday:(

I have been busy quietly hooking and here are the 2 latest Lappys

    Hello all
Been MIA again so much going on haven't had time to think...

Thank you all for your kind words for Mom and OH it means a lot you are all so thoughtful and caring :A

OH had appointment with Doc today she is really pleased with him still not out of the woods yet but ...promising...

Had to take Mom to Moseley Hall yesterday for her assement at the Falls Clinic, we were there hours but all went well, they put her through all sorts and gave her some gentle exercises, and were quite impressed with her when she said up to last year she was doing Tai Chi but the classes stopped because there were only 3 of them turning up in the end.
She was tired and hungry when we came out and OH sugested we went to the pub for lunch ...first time in ages she has been out for lunch...OH couldn't eat all of his but he managed most of it :j

jean and Knitter Nan I love your recipes...would you mind if I sent copies to my DIL she is always making something and loves new recipes :)
jean - Love the bookmarks, I didn't do any of those must have a go... I did Flower brooches and I was so pleased I managed to get some brooch pins, I looked in all the shops markets etc but no luck then thought of e'bay and there they were and they arrived in 2 days and no postage...so that's a plus ;)
chalky - blankets are so nice and I just love flower squares. So glad mine have arrived was a bit unsure about the red though.. thought it may be too bright . Hope your DDIL and MIL are both feeling better now
kathy - How did the viewing go? I have been thinking of you all day...How awful for the poor girl both arms it must be sooo painful for her
MrsTwins - glad you liked it :) its my very favourite I must have done it a dozen times now. I finally managed the Irish Rose it will be on it's way in a couple of days.

Well I must away OH want's to go to the club for an hour so I better go do something with myself...energy would be a good thing at the moment ;)
I did intend to get started on winding some wool from the huge pile of skeins my friend gave me and a nice quiet night...hey ho one day maybe :rotfl:

Big (((hugs))) for all and have good evenings

O dear I never intended to start writing a book sorry :o
  • Anne that would be the greatest form of flattery - by all means pass on the recipe and anything else too while you are about it. I haven't thought about doing brooches...partly because I would have to hunt high and low in the shops to find the pins, but I can add them to the 6 page shopping list for May, that way I will have a few I can use for Ch............ - blame F1 for that word.......she brought it up first on LH and its got me thinking I should get ahead - although I tried last year I still failed and was rushing at the last minute.

Just a quick post and run I am having an early night as I am having treatment at the local hospital tomorrow and it gets tiring sitting doing nothing for a few hours.:o

    Hi everyone

Knitternan - hope it all goes well at the hospital for you. Thanks for the recipe!

Pippa - I'm so glad that both your OH and your mum are doing well. The viewing went well yesterday, so we are keeping our fingers crossed. There were an English couple looking for a holiday home, so there may be too much house and too much garden just for a holiday home, but we shall see!

Chalky - the blankets are lovely! Poor DDIL - I hope the treatment goes well. It must have been lovely having William for the weekend!

Jean - I bought brooch backs on ebay and they were really cheap. Don't worry about using the Ch....... word; I'm already thinking that way!

Mrs Twins - congratulations on getting another magazine mention, and well done on getting the blanket in the Jersey show!

Well, my poor DH has had a bad back for the last couple of days. On Tuesday evening, he was quite worried about it because it was preventing him from breathing properly. I wanted to take him to the hospital but, in the end, he took a painkiller and an anti-inflammatory tablet and those, plus a heatpad, seemed to do the trick. He was OK on Wednesday, then last night the pain came back. He took more tablets which worked well, but we shall see how it goes over the next couple of days. If it keeps happening, he'll have to get it looked at.

The weather has been lovely for the past two days. It's still a bit cool in the evenings, but the daytimes have been wonderful with blue skies and bright sunshine. Such a change after all the snow, and it's great to see the grass again, even if it is a bit wet!

Well, I'm off for a shower, and will call back later.
