evening all, Mrs Moneypenny - think you need to see the Doc....not buying wool in the wool shop? That needs investigating further
Seakay - put the next lot in a mug or a pint pot - don't keep giving away your bestest jam jars..
PippaS - I too am crocheting some of those flower book marks for the Farnborough fayre, I had better get a wiggle on too!
DH packed up the camper to drive to Rome last weekend, then on Sunday changed his mind and had me book him a flight Paris to Rome return as well as an hotel in both cities, off he toddled on Tuesday in the car - I am now in charge of the camper, have been meaning all week to empty his clothes and all the food and the fridge etc out but off course as its cold and we had a wee bit snow and I had no intentions of going out and getting freezing doing it IT STILL NEEDS TO BE DONE! I am also still covering for Mrs Farmer, she went scooting off at the beginning of the week to look after her mum. At least her mob eat anything you stuff in front of them, which makes life very easy - she also has two freezers full of lovely veal and beef, THEY are getting pies in various guises all week and tough if they don't like them...no classic French cooking from me Scottish stick to your ribs stuff and SOUP as well as the microwave jam sponge and custard....so they ain't starving - not sure how its all going down but the plates are all emptied and so are the dishes! DH is due home next Tuesday so you all keep your fingers crossed that the roads from Paris down to Brittany are all clear and no hold ups.
Off to get a bit more crochet done. Back some time tomorrow. BIG FLUFFY WARM CUDDLES FOR EVERYBODY......Oh and I do pass on all the messages to Maytaurus, she will be back one day.

Hi Everyone!
Just updating you.
Last night our EBAY auction ended and I am extremely pleased to be telling you all that we raised £102.00 for Breast Cancer Care. I am absolutely delighted with the result. The 'Think Pink' special Blanket was a gorgeous one and it has now left me to find it's new owner over in the States.
We have had a suggestion to make another one in time for October. So if we do I will come on here and announce it.
We have also sent 'Your Local Landscape' off to Jersey now hopefully to raise money for Mencap.
There is an event on in Jersey in March. Jersey Textile Showcase, hopefully our Blanket will be good enough to exhibit and then afterwards raise money for this worthy cause!
Also our Olympic Blanket will be auctioned off around the time of the Olympics to raise money for Alzheimers here in the UK. I really would welcome your 6" Squares for this Challenge. I will have over 200 Squares so this Blanket is going to be 'quite big!' But we are aiming to make it as big as we can!
So put your thinking caps on Ladies! You could even make a basic Granny Square in the colours of the Union Jack. Or you could make a Union Jack if you want to! Anything to do with the Olympics would be fantastic! Olympic Rings, Olympic Flame, Athlete Squares which we have had already etc., Or Spanish Flag, French Flag ? Where-ever you like as long as the Country is taking part in the Olympics!
For ideas please visit http://www.flickr.com/groups/1648100@N25/pool/
Please don't miss out on this great opportunity!
I really love making these Charity Blankets as much as the 'Sunshine Blankets for the Elderly'.
I think charities at the moment need as much money as they possibly can! With all the cut backs going on!
Love and thanks Sue 'SIBOL'

Hi everyone. For some reason I got logged out of MSE. Have no idea why; there must still be some gremlins about.
It's still absolutely freezing here. The snow that came down two weeks ago is frozen solid on the minor roads and in all the gardens, which makes it really slippery underfoot. I shall be SO glad when it's all gone and we can look forward to spring. It's the coldest I've known it since we moved here. I'm feeding the birds twice a day now, and seem to have a load more than usual now that word has got out that there's food here. I wonder how on earth they cope in such cold weather, poor little things.
Anyway, Pippa - your poor mum; I hope she's not feeling too sore. Hope your OH is doing well. As far as the house is concerned, we have a viewing this coming Thursday so we are keeping our fingers crossed. I have no idea what the garden will look like by then; at the moment, it's covered with snow. It's forecast to warm up (slightly) so it may have all turned slushy and messy by then! We also had someone come and view the building plots we have for sale for the second time, so that looks hopeful, too! So, it's a matter of hurry up and wait, as DH says.
Jean - I'm not surprised that your DH opted to fly to Rome; it would have been far too risky trying to drive there. Good luck with feeding all those extra mouths!
Mrs Twins - what an amazing amount of money to have raised for that beautiful blanket. Well done on such success!
Mrs Moneypenny - NOT buying wool from a wool shop - what's that like?!
ISOM and Seakay - lemon curd sounds absolutely yummy!
F1 - hope things are looking up for you.
Well, I'm just plodding on with squares at the moment, because they are easy to pick up and put down, and I'm using up all sorts of oddments so it's helping to clear the stash of bits and pieces.
I hope you all have a great Sunday.
