Afternoon all :hello:
This is the first time I've had chance to get in today. It's been a busy sort of day today....you know one of those that you seem to hop from one thing to another still I have got loads done so I am quite pleased.
Jean - you made me :rotfl:sans alcohol... so you should be, alcohol at 9.3/4 is not allowed
kathy - they are calming are'nt they, the cows I mean not the farmers;) I just love their eyes and those lashes
chalky - oooo go on tell all
shaz - so pleased the boys have calmed down a bit for you. I have never managed to knit even 1 sock could'nt get to grips with all those needles
MrsMW - O dear, why is it when a loo is'nt avaiable it's needed more
seakay - glad you enjoyed the knitting club. I am the same with sock seams they make my toes so sore sometimes,
ISOM - I hope they contact you soon.
Off out to my friends tonight for a glass or 3 and a catch up, havent seen her for a few weeks things just seemed to get in the way for her as well as me.Will take some knitting....better be something easy methinks
Nice snacky type dinner tonight cheese on toast yummm I just love it
Off to look at the updated figs now, have good evenings all

Moliere - I've only just started crocheting so I don't think that my squares are up to the Mrs Twins standard! I was going to use them to make up a blanket and donate it locally and then maybe do something that will be up to the quality of donations that Mrs Twins receives from others! I couldn't access the spread sheet so wasn't sure if there was a category for general blanket squares.
Perhaps you could expand into smallholding and keep a few cows yourself if the farmer doesn't rent the land to another farmer? Just a thought - I know that you've enough on your plate really!
ISOM - great time at knitting club last night, hope you are not too tired today. Already had a look at the mags I bought home - lending library is such a fab idea! Was wondering if there was room in the cupboard for a box of patterns? We could maybe start a lending library for them as well? Especially as I think that I have finally got to grips with the photocopier!
Purple Teddy Bear - I have had a go at sock knitting on dpns but find the heel bit v difficult. How do you do yours and how do you get the seams very flat? I am v sensitive to any sort or pressure and currently ear all socks inside out to avoid seam pressing on my toes, but if you've found a way of getting seams REALLY flat then I'd be v interested!
the seams on my sock toes are done by the three needle cast off method

Hello everyone, you're all very quiet.
Oh dear Chalky, hope your thumb heals very quickly, but I bet it's in just the place where you keep catching it on everything!
No news, so hope all is well and lots of love to everyone. xxx0 -
Seakay - Oh Seakay!
Oh please dont ever worry about Squares.
I have said on my blog it doesnt honestly matter whether you are a beginner or more experienced.
Honestly!
I'd be grateful of Squares whatever stage anyone is at!
This often pops up with Ladies who visit SIBOL. They sometimes feel that they aren't good enough because they see such wonderful Squares. I've been crocheting since I was 15 now 54 and I still class myself as a beginner. So please dont worry.
I accept Knitted Squares too if anyone is interested. Please don't worry.
I have added SIBOL No. 22 to my blog if anyone wants to pop over. Everyone is most welcome to join us. We are having such fun over there. I have also started another blog this is purely for patterns for Squares that Ladies have tried.

As I said please dont worry. I am so grateful of any Square whatever stage Crocheted or Knitted. They are all so useful.
Thank you!

Hi all - been busy this morning and this is the first chance I've had to come on here.
Chalky - hope your thumb heals up quickly; how on earth are you coping with no hooking?
Mrs Twins - what a lovely post. I shall look at your pattern blog a bit later on.
Pippa - will put your totals right later on today. Sorry about that! Hope you enjoy relaxing on the sofa!
Well, not much woolly stuff happening here; I'm helping DH repair the ceiling in the holiday home that has been leaking - the leak ended up being a loosely fitted mixer tap in the upstairs bath, so not as major as it could have been. However, the ceiling needs making good which we can do between us - apparently! At least the homeowner will be saved a major plumbing bill!
See you all later - hope you have a great day.
(((Hugs))) for Maytaurus, Elaine and Pam, and anyone else who needs one.
Shez - so sorry to hear about your poor cat - you did the right thing.

Lost my purse yesterday while shopping...what a carry on, rang DH told him to cancell my bank cards, dear friend and I went back into the supermarket information just to see if anyone had found said purse..............YES........such a relief, then had to ring DH and get him NOT to do any cancellations....talk about heart rate going up. Lunch was obviously late as we were in and out every shop twice to check if they had found it. Then it got worse - yes it did..... sitting out having a fly cuppa when we got back and the chair just collapsed..honestly I am NOT that heavy, my dear friend nearly had a fit as it was the huge teak set of table/chairs that the gites visitors use in her front courtyard!
She has asked if I am sueing her or looking for compensation-not flaming likely! I just laughed, seems that because the "outdoor furniture" lives indoors during the winter months it does the swelling and shrinking malarky, she and her DH are both eternally grateful that it was ME the went down and not any of their paying guests. They removed all the chairs into the barn and have put out the "inferior - plastic ones for the time being" they will be re-glueing and clamping all 12 chairs over the next couple of days. Sure it was a job they didn't anticipate but it will need to be sorted.THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DRINK TEA!! Think I should take up alcohol??
Ache all down my left hand side at all the sticky out bits, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, ankle and have a beautiful set of bruises. Banged a load of arnica tablets into me last night and slathered the arnica gel all over this morning when I got out of the shower - made a change from the body lotion.
Sorry to hear about your dear Auntie CHalky and your cut up finger... you obviously weren't paying attention when that happened. Hope the Auntie is on the mend ever so slowly tho'. Will go and see if I can do a bit of machine knitting - I should be fine using just the one arm with that. Love and cuddles to everyone, hope to be back in a bit later.
Jean
