ANNE wash your mouth out right now, mention of maltesers and turkish delight.......ggggggrrrrrrrrr I will have to see what I can find in the BIG SHOPS tomorrow. Re your figures, I just did a check on the sheet I do and have you down for 2 pr of wheelchair socks/slippers is this correct? I know Kathy is a week behind, I add to mine as they are posted so we have a confirmation when they get done. Wee boys love a torch and a good book at bedime.... have you come across the wind up ones - saves on the batteries, we have a couple in the camper van and they are great.

The Hague linker went pants on me yesterday, so I have only just finished the sewing up off the jumpers...took most of today to get it set up again, that's what happens when I don't pay attention.... Getting excited about the jaunt to the shops so I think I shall go and get a bit of hand knitting done in a comfy chair and try and remain calm. Back soon

Morning all! Lovely knitting group yesterday - gave three of them a shoulder massage and people bought mags, wool etc so lots of fun! Were slowly decluttering our stash and people donate to charity which we'll give at the end of the year collectively! Have also found us some space in a cupboard so that I can put patterns etc in there and then people can borrow them.
No news from w*** and if I dont hear today Ill email them as want to have a meeting to discuss whats what. At the moment I have no clue. Am spending more time each day out and about but am then tired so catch 22!

morning all, bought some red wool for a school jumper, and then when i looked at the pattern, red wasnt on the list of colours, so i'll find a use for it, and buy another colour for school jumpers, as i think every child should be able to go to school, and if i can help them, then i will.
my boys seemed to have calmed down a bit, the trick is keeping an eye on them all the time which isnt easy lol
lost count how many pairs of socks i've knitted, i find them so easy and relaxing, perfect while watching kids or tv. trying to find motivation to sew up a baby cardigan, and add bands, if anybody see's it, can they return it to me please lol
    hugs all

Morning all, the weather looks promising so I've put some washing in, hope it will dry outside. We're in a bit of a mess at present, won't bore you but we had a leak which was undiscovered so now have to get loads of work done. Main problem is it is in the back hall and as we live in a bungalow the access to most of our rooms is through there so it's awkward having workmen in. Luckily we will be able to get into the sitting room and one bedroom and escape through the front door to a neighbours to use the loo.
I went to The Range yesterday and discovered Paton's FAB at £1.17 for 100G, so I just had to have some, I've started on a school jumper. Must also admit that a few big balls of yarn fell into my basket at Poundstretcher. DH just stood looking puzzled, lol.
Hope everyone is as well as can be today.

Hi everyone - woke up in a rush this morning, and DH had to be out fairly early. He's investigating a mysterious leak (luckily, in someone else's house, not ours for a change!). Then I decided I really ought to do some of the boring stuff (housew**k, and all that!), so now I'm sat down with a coffee.

Chalky - can't wait to hear about the adventures!

Shaz - I'm glad the boys seemed to have calmed down.

ISOM - hope you hear from w**k soon - how frustrating it must be for you. If I remember rightly from my knitting-machine days many summers ago, a Hague linker is a sewer-upper (I'm sure Jean will correct me if I'm wrong!)

Mrs MW - good luck with your leak. Don't you just hate the inconvenience of it all? Hope it's sorted soon.

    May - thinking of you.

Jean - sans alcohol? In France? Enjoy the shopping!

Pippa - I don't think the farmer and his wife have ideas about moving, although they have said that it's a big house for just two people. I hope they don't. Eight cows mysteriously appeared in the field next to our garden yesterday - we've concluded that they are either 'pets' (!), 'spares' that he forgot he had (!), or he is letting another farmer use his land. I hope they stay - they are so slow and quiet, and very relaxing to watch.

Well, it's really hot and sunny here today, so I hope you are all enjoying the same. It hasn't rained for weeks now, and, thanks to Jean who sent me the info, at least I know we have water restrictions here. So no car-washing (not that I really mind that, but DH does!), and no hose-pipes, although I think that veggie plots can be watered. Watering cans should be OK - hope so, because we are using ours, plus watering our neighbours' garden while they are away.

Anyway, I'll be working on the update today and will pop back later.

Hope you all have a great day.

am sure if you make a school style jumper with it Shaz there will be a home for it --- lots of schools here wear red, so I am imagining that there will be over there too. The pattern over on LH mentions pink, but this isn't mentioned on Lou's list - so I am sure there will be uses for all sorts of colours. I will be making a pink one as I have a maahoosive 500g ball of Barbie pink that I will use a little of, but the rest will make a fab jumper!

Must crack on and get some packing done...

    Hi everyone

I've just updated the totals on the spreadsheet but I still can't publish them on my blog in the usual way so that they are at the top of the page. The last spreadsheet that I posted there has updated automatically, so please scroll down to that for the latest update - hope I've explained this well!

As usual, please let me know if I've made any mistakes.

Seakay - I've added your nine 6" squares to 'Mrs Twins' squares' on the spreadsheet - is that the correct place, or are you sending them elsewhere?

DPixie - I've put your nine hex jumpers under 'Children's jumpers' - is that correct?

Moliere - I've only just started crocheting so I don't think that my squares are up to the Mrs Twins standard! I was going to use them to make up a blanket and donate it locally and then maybe do something that will be up to the quality of donations that Mrs Twins receives from others! I couldn't access the spread sheet so wasn't sure if there was a category for general blanket squares.
Perhaps you could expand into smallholding and keep a few cows yourself if the farmer doesn't rent the land to another farmer? Just a thought - I know that you've enough on your plate really!
ISOM - great time at knitting club last night, hope you are not too tired today. Already had a look at the mags I bought home - lending library is such a fab idea! Was wondering if there was room in the cupboard for a box of patterns? We could maybe start a lending library for them as well? Especially as I think that I have finally got to grips with the photocopier!
Purple Teddy Bear - I have had a go at sock knitting on dpns but find the heel bit v difficult. How do you do yours and how do you get the seams very flat? I am v sensitive to any sort or pressure and currently ear all socks inside out to avoid seam pressing on my toes, but if you've found a way of getting seams REALLY flat then I'd be v interested!

Hi Seakay - sorry about that! As Mrs Twins is collecting 6" squares, I thought they were for her! There is a category called 'Soweto and other squares' so I've put yours there. Hope that's OK?

I would love to have animals here - chickens, and possibly goats to help keep the grass down. It's something we are thinking about once the house is finished.

The knitting club sounds great; the idea of a lending library for patterns is brilliant, I think!
