    Hi everyone

Not much chance to come on here yesterday - the holiday home we look after has sprung a major leak which was leaving a puddle on one of the floors, so we had to go over and investigate and clean it all up. After a process of elimination, we think the leak is coming from one of the pipes leading to the shower upstairs, but the ceiling below will need to be taken down first, so DH will be sorting that out this week. The next lot of guests arrive there on the 14th, so he won't have long to take the ceiling down, find the leak, call in the plumber to fix it, then replace the ceiling.

We're also looking after our neighbours' hyperactive dog again for the next two weeks, so that's a bit more time taken up!

I'm still missing DS1 and his family - they really filled up the house and it seems so quiet now! Still, it's not long now until we go back to the UK to see them all again. I can't wait but, meanwhile, I must decide what woolly stuff to make. I've already got lots of hats to send to LH but will send them from the UK - the postage will be cheaper plus it means I can make some more things to add to the parcel. I'm running out of wool so I'll just be using oddments until I can go shopping again in the UK. I might make some IS hats because it will soon be that time of year again!

May - its so good to have you back posting on here. I hope life gets better for you - you go through such a lot.

ISOM - I loved the photo you posted of you and your Mum (who was taking the photo!). It's always lovely to put a face to a name! I went walking on the Brecon Beacons years ago - you have to be really careful there because the mist can come down at any time, and it's so easy to get lost. Believe me, I've been there!

Well, I haven't had much time to catch up on all your posts this week but will do that tomorrow. Today, we are going to a family barbecue - DH's cousin is visiting. She and her family are staying with DH's brother and his wife about an hour's drive from here. She lives in Belgium now and has been seriously ill with a nasty brain tumour for years, but she has had some new treatment which we're all hoping is the right treatment for her. She must be a lot better or she would not have been able to travel at all. We are really looking forward to seeing her again. So, it will be another day of being out and about.

I'll do the update tomorrow - I think I am a week out, so I will double check and make sure everything is included.

I hope you all have a great day!

Good Morning All and a Happy Yorkshire Day. Haven't posted for a while but I do read to keep up with everyone. Sorry I can't remember all the names but sending best wishes to anyone who is ill or troubled. ISOM, the photo was lovely, loved that top you were wearing, you look just like your Mum. Mioliere, it must have been great to have your family with you. Won't be long until September.
I've been very busy knitting and I have a box ready to send to LH, took me ages to get a box. I am sending 7 Aids jumpers and 8 sweaters/cardigans.
I am busy doing some knitted presents at the moment, just those scarves that fasten like a bow tie, for a couple of older ladies. Then I need to start on Christmas presents, got some gorgeous wool/alpaca, it's really soft and will make nice scarves and hats.
That's all for now, so I'll love you and leave you. Keep up the good work!

    Hello everyone,

Feeling a bit sad today because the girls have gone back home

We drove down and met their Mummy at Oxford services this morning, had a coffee and a MONSTER chocolate chip cookie, the size of a plate:eek: it was yummmm bit like this really :EasterBun

We had a long chat and caught up on all the goings on this week, the girls had a great time in the playground for a while, then we loaded all their stuff into her car then it was time to say goodbye.... O it was hard, but at least they are only 3 hours away down in West Sussex.

Had a quick skim thought the thread but will have a read later.

Did manage to get some knitting done while the girls were here, well when they were in bed ;)
Have also started DGD1 a ripple blanket pinks/lilacs/blues 3 shades of each colour and white, she chose most of them herself (I may use a dove grey as well) will see how it goes.
Have already done one for DGD2 but have kept it until they can have them at the same time.

washings finished and we need food so off to get something sorted will try and get back later.
