he has been to our local fire station, and even dressed up in the firemans clothes after meeting them first, then they had to use hose, and ravel it all back up again. also seen fire engines up close and sat on one. was a good suggestion tho.
as daniel goes to a special school for kids with behaviour problems, i think he has probably picked it up from the other kids. not blaming other kids, but they do take lighters into school and mess about with them.
started knitting a boob, as couldnt make my mind up what to do next. want to start a school jumper, but before i start that, i want to sew up and finish a baby cardigan, or else once again i will have a pile of ufo's lol

well I was just interested really, think I struck some matches and just let them burn out when I was outside my house when I was maybe about 10. But I know my husband and his brothers did start a fire in their bedroom once when they were just little, and I mean younger than 7 or 8! His dad had to come in and put it out... I can't imagine how scary it must be for a parent to have to deal with that :(

Hi all, hope all is well with you. Thank you for all the good wishes.

Sock knitter, I hope that things are a little better for you today. What a terrible time you are having lately, it must be awful for you at the moment. Love and virtual hugs for you. Hope that you can let it all out here at least.

ISOM, you look great in that photo and what a beautiful smile you have, it looks like you get it from your mum. Hope you had a lovely time at the wedding.
May, lovely to hear from you. Sending hugs and loving thoughts for you.
PTB, have a lovely relaxing holiday, sorry you’re feeling carp too. Do you fancy trying some of the crimbo stockings for Shelley? Or, a great stashbuster is to knit with 6-8 balls of dk yarn (any colours together) and massive 000 needles (or 2 chunky and 3-4 dk). I made loads of jumpers/cardis like this a few years ago and have patterns if you’d like them.
Don79, take it easy if you can, not long to go now.

Well , mention of PTB’s stash made me think of mine. I still have a few bits of the first things I made for DD – 35 years ago! I’m just a softie at heart really! I can remember all her years just by the bits of wool I have left from various garments, from nursery to teenager. Ah well, enough enough.
Wishing you all love and snuggles, hope the poorlies and mia’s are feeling better soon
    Love

Hi everyone - I'm sorry I haven't been popping in over the last few days. We've had the most fantastic time with DS1 and his lovely family and we filled the days; the time went so so fast, I can hardly believe they've now been and gone! They are spending a few days at a Centre Parcs here in France, then they will be returning to the UK but, luckily, we will be back there in September so, although I felt very sad when they left, it won't be long until we see them again.

I've done no woolly stuff at all since they arrived but hope to do some tonight. We are exhausted now because it's been such a busy few days (plus our neighbours invited us over for aperitifs a couple of hours ago and the alcohol is now having an effect!). I think an early night is in order and I will catch up with you all and your news tomorrow.

Just reading about fires and little boys. My DH and his brothers (well, one brother - the other one was far too well-behaved!) used to build Airfix planes then set fire to them on their attic bedroom window-sill and watch them slide down the roof. Apparently, they were trying to re-create the Battle of Britain!

Hope you are all have a good Friday.

    See you tomorrow.

Chalky and Kathy, have a great time with your families.
F1, you're not the only one thinking of those little hats, I was only looking at red wool the other day with the idea of making an early start.
Mrs twins, glad you like the squares.

Shaz and mioliere one of my brothers used to blow up his airfix models, and my two boys lit fires outside hidden down the side of the house, stopped when they were caught luckily, but when we moved to a house with a real fire they loved to light it. So I guess some children go through that stage. Good luck with sorting it out Shaz, I don't envy you. (((hugs)))

In haste as off for mums MRI and a day out to brecon beacons!
Re fires think its quite common -possibly because flames are quite pretty arent they! May be worth asking psych for any practical suggestions socky...its a common issue so they should have some strategies/suggestions.
Great that youre having a good time miol!
    Keep us posted don!
    How is lion Kinsey?!!
Had my first violin lesson yesterday - gone for 1/2 hr lesson every 2 weeks and will add some extras when I have the odd 38 spare for an hours lesson! Friend and i are sharing lessons and cost but I am behind her as she can do grade 7 theory and I cant read a note! Apparently if we get to grade 5 a local orchestra will take us so am enthused by that as one of my lifes dreams.
ok must on as need to shower and dress!!
    hugs all!

The brecon beacons...oh how lovely. Hope your Mum's MRI goes ok. Lion is coming along but needs concentration, have to count all the time and people will keep talking! Or dogs want to go out or phone rings etc. I've always wanted to read music, just another thing on the list that I've never got round to.
