Bloomin hook is still AWOL and I`m just not in the mood to knit
Hope things improve rapidly or I`ll be booted out of here
Shaz, it`s good that no-one was hurt in the accident. As my dear Jim would have said `They are only tin boxes on wheels and can be fixed or replaced`
Bit colder here than it`s been the past couple of days but it`s dry so shouldn`t complain, very different from last year when we had snow if I remember correctly. Brrrrrrr.Fully paid up member of S.A.B.L.E.

psso -- Love your comment-- I get into a real panic when I lose my hook and all the family actually realise how important it is and get searching. DDIL even made me a hook roll but I am useless with things like that.So now I have lots dotted around the place!
Linedanceranne Lovely to see you commenting!
Kathy won't be wanting to return to red tape land I know!!!
Kinsey Hope you had a lovely time with William.
Lots of love to one and all -- I hope lots of people will pop in soon!
Well the house is 90% packed!!!! How is it that things that look perfectly fine in situ--- suddenly, how shall we put it --- look well loved, scruffy round the edges, or even to be harsh a load of old tat when you start packing them! The broken bits rear their ugly heads, the chipped bits glare at you, the odd bits look like Russell Grant on Strictly. And I have to be honest, even I am fed up with the sight of odd bits of wool, felt, crafting paraphenalia and worse by far Lakeland bags with WIPS in!!!!!!
Anyway rant over. The house contents go out to container storage tomorrow. The scaffolding and wrapping go on the house on Weds and Thurs and we move into DMIL'S on Wednesday! Then the fun!! begins.
I am starting a sister blog called "Our Broken House" as a photographic memoir for me but I will put the link on when it is started if you want a look!Try and do a good deed every day.0 -
shaz thank goodness you were all ok but what a fright - I'm like psso's Jim - i also say cars are tin boxes and can be fixed but bodies cant always.
chalky I think I have missed what's happenening where ever you are now - I know what you mean though about the scruffy, broken, worn, incomplete stuff we live with normally! hope operation mending house goes smoothly xx

Well, I spent a while this afternoon decluttering `my` corner and YES, I found the missing bag with blanket, wool and crochet hook. :j No-one is admitting to hiding it, but I reckon DD moved it when she shifted the sofas etc round to make room for the Christmas tree.
Only one snag...........I also found a few (make that LOTS of) UFOs lurking there as well
You all know the kind of things, stuff that needs ends sewn in, stuff that needs to be stitched up, stuff that needs buttons put on, need I say more ??
I said to DD that this year I`m going to be good and have no more than 3 things on the go at any time, whereupon there was loud laughter from the top of the stairs. DS was coming down and had heard the conversation, and said that was mission impossible as far as I was concerned. Oh yeah ??
Plan is to finish off the edging round the blanket first then complete the UFOs before starting anything else. Hmm,we`ll see how long it lasts.
BTW I went online today and was looking at new hooks. Thought I`d go for the Clover one as I said before, then spotted Prym and Knitpro soft ones as well. Couldn`t decide which to go for....so ordered one of each, well DS reckoned I`d be better trying them all before committing myself to buying a complete set of one brand. Good at spending my money eh ?
How long is the house going to be out of action Chalky ? Good job you get on well with DMiL.
Might be a good time to get rid of the tired stuff and treat yourselves to some new bits and pieces.
Toots, enjoy your wee break with your cousin.
Off to do a bit of crochet now that I have no excuse.Fully paid up member of S.A.B.L.E.

morning all
shaz m so glad you are all alright must have been a heck of a scare
chalky i hope your house is soon sorted
psso glad you found your hooks and stuff not so good to find a forgotten stash of ufos, i think ive got to get my stash in hand this year and tackle at least some of it before carboot season starts and it gets added to again, i got a set of bamboo needles and two big balls of wool from dh, dd and a friend brought me cross stitch kits, im almost finished stitching the one from dd its the gorguss one called 'i love you little rabbit' i think ill finish the cross stitch part today and then have the back sttich to do and that always takes too long, i do have an ellie square on the go but with doing stuff for lily and lola and ds christmas fayre ive neglected LH this challenge so hope to get back into useing up my wool stash for good causes by the end of january.
must also ring hospital today, i found a big lump before christmas i was good and went straight to the drs, i went for a mamogram and ultrasound on 28th was told it was just a harmless cyst so they drained it for me and said it didnt need sending away and i was fine to go home BUT now the brusing has gone down the lump is still there, so im wondering if i now ignore his lump and assume as its checked its harmless or does it need draining some more? they open at 9so i will ring but at least im not now in panic mode like i was all over christmas, i ended up making myslef feel ill trying to make christmas perfect for everyone as i wasnt sure what was wrong.
hugs to all and everyone has a better year health wiseSPC~12 ot 124

just rung, and been reassured its probally deep tissue brusing so nothing to worry about but if its still there in 10 days it could mean cyst has refilled or not drained completely so will have to go back to drs. so going to try and ignore it for now.SPC~12 ot 124

Hi
A blessed and prospeous 2012 for all of you. Hugs for those in need today, and for those whose new year hasn't got of to the start they would have liked ((((hugs))))
I'm busy finishing of a wheelchair lappy blanket for my next door neighbour. So glad the winter has been reasonably mild so far, because I've been well behind with it. Not much left to do no though, so the weather has my permission to get colder once I've finished :-) lol.
My 24yr old daughter got engaged new years day :-) They went to France for a couple of days. She suggested it to her fiancee to be ( the trip that is) unbeknown that he had decided to propose to her, so the trip made it even better for him, because while they were on the Eiffle Tower he got down on one knee and proposed :-) We knew he was going to ask her, because he'd asked our permissin first, but we didn't know how etc. so I'm really pleased he was romantic about it, because she's that sort of girl bless her :-) So a wedding will be forthcoming. He's Portuguese, so I think it's going to be on a Portuguese beach, then a blessing done back here. I said we could make the dress code for ladies bikinis and men bermuda shorts :-) Nice and cheap and easy lol.My sassy 17yr old said she'd invest in a couple of co!!!! halves and wear them to cover those booby bits !!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway. Be blessed today :-) love you all.
