It's me...............great to hear that Shaz is getting on well in her new abode, thanks Dawn. Chalky, ISOM and Mioliere all excited about hols .....keep calm just a little bit longer. PippaS - birthday, DH feeling better eating well, Grandchildren up for holidays.......wow baking cakes??? Must go and see if I can find that recipe.
Well so far this week - I know I promised I would be in here all the time - well that was before I decided that while DH was away I could get the spiral staircase from the lounge up to our bedroom oiled/waxed...so regarded the internet for instructions.....went and bought the necessary stuff.........linseed oil and turpentine, made up the jollup in the right quantities.........did the first lot.......found I couldn't go to bed.....cos they were still wettish, only takes FOUR COATES and yes they are all done today is the last coat. BAD NEWS IS I have managed to break the dishwasher dispensing drawer GOOD NEWS IS I have ordered the replacement bit and it has arrived.........BAD NEWS IS I have broken the hoover.........GOOD NEWS IS I didn't want to use it anyway ha ha........BAD NEWS IS I have managed to crack the lid on my lapdog pooter .....GOOD NEWS IS .........DS has got me a new lid or even a new pooter he is being extremely cagey about answering my questions on that one will see what Santa brings.........GOOD NEWS IS - DH is still running around all over the UK getting all the Stuff I had on his lists and visiting all his family and friends MORE GOOD NEWS.......I am doing absolutely WHAT I PLEASE I had forgotten just how much I enjoyed being here on my todd with the two dogs........we are eating all the "right" things (NOT ON YOUR NELLY), We are NOT SLEEPING ALL TOGETHER IN THE BIG SPARE BED DOWNSTAIRS (if you believe that one you all need to see a medical specialist cos I am lying), we are going to bed late and getting up late too..........we are only watching things on the telly we want to see......doing crafts we want to do. I have moved one sewing machine to the kitchen table so I can keep an eye on everything and keep them company - they miss me when I go to the sweatshop and they really take up far too much room down there for me to work comfortably. IT COULD BE PAJAMA DAYS ALL THE WAY THROUGH TILL NEXT THURSDAY EVENING if I really wanted it. Spent this morning chopping sticks for kindling and did a quick tidy up round the garden - well I felt guilty, filled up all all the bird feeders and the fat balls etc so I am certainly on the job. Will now go and catch up with postings and see if I really can pop back a bit more often next week! Love and cuddles to you all - see you soon.

Jean - what a fantastic post! I can just imagine you doing all that! I'm so sorry that practically everything in your house seems to have gone pear-shaped, but I can tell that it's absolutely not impacting on your enjoyment of having the place to yourself (well, you and your canine co-conspirators), while poor hubby races around getting his list ticked off! Enjoy, and if you only wear pyjamas until next Thursday, just think of all that time you'll have saved on laundry!
Pippa - have a truly fabulous weekend with your lovely GDSs. Well done to your OH for doing so well, and a happy 91st (!!) birthday to your mum!
Well, back here I've been completing a lovely form, all in my beloved (not) French and, as far as I'm concerned, it's done and dusted and will be hand-delivered on Monday. I've torn so much hair out over this form, that I daren't trust it to the postal service to deliver on time.
I've been going in and out of my office at a rate of knots but, in my haste, I sat too far on the edge of my wheeled office chair, and it ran away from me across the laminate floor, so I landed squarely on the base of my spine. It took the wind out of me, and I only hope that it doesn't have any lasting impact!
Anyway, apart from that, DH has just had the call to say that my car has now been serviced, so he's on the way, courtesy of a friend, to collect it. At least that's another job we can tick off the never-ending list of things we need to get done before we escape back to sanity!
Hope you are all having a great weekend!

Hello everybody--- Well 1 week to "d" day and we spoke to DDIL this morning she was calmly crocheting a beautiful bobble blanket which is growing and growing!
Lovely posts here and lots of love to those who are not posting at the moment for whatever reason!
Pippa-- What a lovely post-- I hope you have a wonderful weekend -- Just what the doctor ordered I am sure! Glad you enjoyed a wander around Chalky's!
Jean -- You know me. PJ days are my favourite ones. When DOH goes away its PJ's and cheese and pickle sandwiches all the way! Hope DOH manages all your requests!
Kathy-- I fear you will slam that door and never want to go back!!! You have made some lovely friends though and had a real impact on your tiny community so I know you and your DOH will be missed!
ISOM-- What lovely presents I am sure they will be really appreciated. Enjoy your lovely time with friends.
Toots -- I hope your hospital stay wasn't too trying!
F1 - I hope you are managing to poke your nose out of the door!
Mrs M Hope Craft Fayre went well!
Well there is a lady here that sits in the market begging every week and it makes me feel sad! She never pushes herself forwards but I often think of her --- There by the Grace of God comes to mind-- Think I will get my odds and sods box out and make a small lappy or something to bring some cheer!
Off to concentrate on Strictly! Love to allTry and do a good deed every day.0 -
Hello all - sorry ive been missing this week - nothing too serious just chasing my tail - FIL was taken into hospital this week after weeks of pain after finishing his Radiotherepy for prostate cancer the doctor sent him to hospital - 4 days later they have found out he has an infection "in that area" so is on antibiotics - DOH and DS have gone to visit and take xmas presents to MIL in case they dont come for xmas.
Hence I have been furiously wrapping, making cards, finishing hand made presents etc
BUT the biggest thing of the week is that I have met one of the LH ladies wahoooooooo - it was lovely - she is a lovely lady - so alike for craft things its untrue - thoroughly enjoyed the couple of hours we spent chatting and it went all too quickly - I probably bent her ear with my incesant chat!
Oh and the second good thing this week was that my results came back and thankfully it is clear - again wahooooo
I finish this week with one side of the families present gone off, cards made, LH's SS present sent, all my posted presents went off today - so Im pretty chuffed with myself - now Im panicking that leaving order my turkey crown until end of week (frozen from Sainburys) they will be sold out ......... christmas wobbles me thinks!
kathy - Not long now and you can shut that door and forget it for a while - Im really sorry but I cant remember how to find your blog? when you are free let me know - the one under your name just shows the totals - am I being dim? xxx
roamin - I just loved your post although Im sorry that there have been having some catastrophies - keep enjoying your time - you are so funny!! xxx
pippa - have a lovely time with family you both deserve it and it sounds like DH is getting better by the day which is fantastic xxx
Well had better go am knittng a neck warmer from Simply Knitting (issue 88 January) already done one now have a second one on the go

evening all
kathy i hope your form gets dlivered safely and is dealt with prompty and properly
the craft fayre went well, wasnt as busy as id hoped, i think it was down to the room we were in and the position of our stall (centre of the room) so people tnended to skirt round the edge. anyway we made £27 so the school was very pleased. the local primary has a christmas fayre this week so i might donate the remaining christmas items to that.
watching a christmas film now
have a good night allSPC~12 ot 124

I am certainly up for some geezers squares for lapacuddleyghans - thank you Chalky - just might get started to them today.
F1 - they weren't catastophies.........that's my normal sort of week, its the only way to keep DH interested and occupied, although I will sort the dishy washer today, there are at least another 3 vacuums out in that Cave I call a barn BUT I have no intention of even poking my head round that door let alone search and find one.......the broom will do me perfectly well - it doesn't make such a noise!
Well done on the Craft fayre Mrs Moneypenny, I watched four Christmas films yesterday........lovely stuff totally relaxing. I do believe it will be a Jimmy jam day today, not sure about the cheese and pickle sandwiches but you never know. You all have a great day whatever you are intending. Oh and as I am doing the updates, I really should hurry up and finish something in the work bag to add to the totals before the end of the year! The Hooligan Wooligan – age 9¾

Hello one and all --- Lots of love tucked in -- I am sure everyone is getting busier and busier--- All still quiet on the baby Gilberto front!
The house is smelling lovely as I have just made biscuits and cake as on my bloggie! They are so easy and delicious they never stay very long. It's funny whenever family times are a little ummmm! thought provoking I always revert to baking!
So the little lappy for the lady who sits on the edge of the market is coming on -- you know me and hooking! And at least I can sit with DMIL and not feel I am not doing anything! I am amazed how pretty a lappy can be just using odds and ends and 1 big square.
F1 -- Lovely to see you posting nd you sound as if you are winning with the maze!
Mrs M-- Glad Fayre went well-- Little ones doing well?
Jean -- Are you still in your jammies--- I could do with a PJ day-- no chance. Dmil would really think I had lost it.
kATHY -- Bet you are packed!!!
Pippa -- Hope you have had a wonderful weekend with the family -- Lovely pictures of your woolly bits and pieces xx
Love to all xxxTry and do a good deed every day.0 -
Good morning, everyone.
ISOM - that quilt is beautiful and looks like it was a real labour of love! Have a great time in Bath; I love that city!
F1 - good luck to your FIL. I am so so glad that you have got the all-clear! What wonderful news for you and your family! Your meeting with the LH lady sounds lovely!
Chalky - so little time left to wait now! If you're anything like I was, you'll realise that you're not actually breathing properly at the moment! When DDIL goes into labour, make sure you have plenty of soothing stuff (of the woolly kind, of course) to do to help you through it! I'm not packed yet, actually, because I'm still wading through the red tape here, and I want to get that all done and dusted over the next couple of days, so that I can actually enjoy packing! Plus, I still haven't bought my dress for the Christening; I hope to do that by mid-week!
Mrs Moneypenny - £27 is still a great amount to have raised; every penny counts, and without all that effort, that £27 would not have happened! Well done!
Jean - hope your weekend went well, and I'm glad that you managed to spend at least some of the time relaxing! Thanks so much for doing the updates for me but, sadly, I have nothing to add to my totals at the moment. I've sorted out wool to take to make some Geezer squares while we're travelling to the UK. I'm almost out of substantial amounts of DK because I haven't bought any for so long, so am just using up scraps, and will be shopping for new wool in my favourite wool shop once we are back there!
Anyway, I have no idea why the font has shrunk on this post. I think I keep catching the wrong keys on the keyboard because my fingernails are too long; I must have altered the font size somehow.
Anyway, off to make another cuppa!
Take care
KathyXX
I've just found a font-size adjuster (probably not the technical term for it) at the bottom of my screen, so it was easy to increase the size again!KNIT YOUR SQUARE TOTALS:
