kathy - how are you feeling now?
jean - you certainly lead an exciting life over thereI have been having a lovely time doing your little ornaments for the tree, found some tiny bells to finish them off so I am well pleased
toots - I echo what the others have said about pattern's, some of them certainly have me scratching my head with the wording sometimes. Hope all goes well next week
mrs-moneypenny - havent seen you for ages are you ok?
My friend Jo came over on the bus on Friday and it took her longer to get here than it did to get to London on the train last week, the bus from Solihull is a real Mickey Mouse run :rotfl:
I persuaded her to stay the night and set her up with some knitting and she did a scarf while she was here.
We went to Mums on Saturday morning and Jo helped me wrap all her Christmas presents, while OH helped Mum with all the cards, so we left her a very happy Mum with everything sorted. Just have to do all our's now... We took Jo home and stayed for tea then came home, OH was worn out it was the longest outing he had had for weeks so he had a snooze for an hour or 2.
I must away Lunch is ready and OH has just said he is hungry a BIG step in the right direction :T
(((hugs))) for all
Will do my update later kathy

Hello to our recent new friends who have joined us -- please join in the comments to let us know how you are getting on!
Well I felt a bit sad today as my dear little Great Niece was christened and of course we missed it but DD1 went for us and sent a lovely photo. Luckily her stocking got there in time so I was pleased about that!
DMil is however enjoying her holiday so that is brilliant and thank you for kind wishes about DOH--- Better at the moment!Try and do a good deed every day.0 -
Hi everyone
Yet again, I’ve been missing in action, due to a mixture of still feeling a bit under the weather (an allergy thing, or so the doctor thinks), the usual chores (which take twice as long when you just don’t want to do them!), and trying to get organised for Christmas in the UK. It’s only seventeen more sleeps until we go, but I know that time will fly by.
Anyway, I’ve just done the update, and our very lovely Roamin in the Gloamin has kindly offered to take over the updating while I’m away, starting from today, bless her. Thanks, Jean, that will be such a help to me!
To find the update, click into my name at the side of this post, then go to my ‘homepage’. Please let me know if there are any mistakes!
Salome – what a gorgeous photo, and Happy Birthdays to them both! I love shared birthdays (my DS1 was born on my birthday) – I think the chances are quite rare, aren’t they? Having said that, when I was expecting my DS2, another lady I met at ante-natal class was expecting her third; the previous two had both been born on Christmas day a couple of years apart and, believe it or not, when I met up with her after the baby was born, that one had also been born on Christmas day!
Chalky – not long now until you meet him in person! You must be beyond excited! Please wish DIL all the very best when little Gilberto makes his entrance!
Pippa – I am so pleased that your OH is eating so well.
Shaz – hope you are settling in well,
ISOM – beautiful wreath; what patience you must have.
Jean – I hope you are enjoying the peace and quiet!
Well, I’m not sure what I’ll get done today; DH is off work due to a dental appointment, so we decided to make the most of it and do a bit of last minute shopping. I still need to buy a new dress for the Christening, and a few more little pressies for Christmas – difficult because there’s not so much choice here as in the UK. I’ll try and get the wrapping up done by the end of the week.
DS2 and family Skyped yesterday, and it looks as if little Megan will be walking by the time we get over there. She’ll be nine months old, the same age as her big sister was when she walked. I think Mum and Dad will really have their hands full with both of them fully mobile! I’m so excited about seeing them all; not that you’d guess!
Anyway, I’d better go and get that kettle on again. I think good old PG Tips are really keeping me going these days! I have to have a routine blood test this week, which means fasting for twelve hours, and having to wake up with no cuppa to look forward to. I can just about survive without food, but a cuppa – now, that’s difficult! Of course, being France, it’s not a case of visiting the doctor’s surgery and getting the nurse to take the blood; I have a prescription which I have to take to the local lab for the blood test. The upside is that the results will be available the following day, which is very good.
Anyway, I’m waffling, so I shall love you and leave you for now.
Take care, and I hope you all have a great day.

Hi
Mioliere I manged to match birthdays up twice lol. There is Dave and Lydia on Dec 4th, then Jenny and Melanie on 22nd September lol. I nearly made it a hatric. My youngest Bethany's birthday is the day before my eldest's, Sarah's, birthday. 21st June for Beth, 22nd for Sarah, and my edlest grandaughter's birthday is the day before mine :-) June again, Anna's the 25th, mine the 26th :-) My youngest grandaughter's birthday is the 25th Oct, and my 5th eldest, Karen has hers on the 24th Oct lol.
Anyway. My various craft bits are coming aong. Haven't strated the fingerless gloves for the care home yet. Mum has started to knit some polo neck things that have a front and back, almost like a bib, and it is sleevless. It's supposed to be worn under a coat. She started knitting them for the ladies at the home, because one was getting upset because she was feeling cold around the neck. Mum went with a carer to see what warm clothes this lady had, and she had one of these, that she must have made herself when she was able. Mum went and put it on her, and she settled after that. Mum asked the carer what warm stuff there was for the old folk, and she said "not a lot", so when mum got back here, she popped in the wool shop and found a pattern, so she's started knitting these polo neck tops that can be slipped on, and will keep the ladies necks, chest, and back warm :-) All these little things help, don't they :-) A lot of these folk don't have family, or if they do, they don't visit often :-( It's almost as if they've been forgotten :-( and it's for relatives to provide clothing, or friends do in some cases, but a lot of the old dears are left with the clothes they brought into the home on admission for the rest of their stay there, and in most cases, it's not adequate.
Have a blessed and prosperous day. Hugs to all in need ((((hugs)))) Love you all.
