    Morning all
I have been missing for a few days so decided to have a quick read through whilst OH is having a nap, we have the hospital later and as we never know how long we will be there I like him to have a kip before we go, then he can have a shower and something to eat.
He has been eating a little better the last few days not much but at least its solid food and more varied than just soup or porridge although he does love his porridge for breekie...:D

prepareathome - welcome to our happy little band, as some have said squares are the best to start with and they are always needed and no time limit so no rush :)
f1 - yes I have told him you all ask about him and he is quite touched that people he has never met think of him and wish him well. I hope you are feeling a bit better today.
salome - lovely to see you, I think thats a good idea with the handwarmers as lots of elderly people have cold hands, if the home say yes to the hats I can do you a few loom ones if you want :)
jean and anakat - thank you for the wreath patterns I've done a few and just need to trim them, when I can find the little bells I saved off the crackers last year...I know they are lurking somewhere... where... is anyone's guess ;)
kinsey - hows the painting coming along?
toots - hope you had a good rest and you're feeling less sore today
kathy - not long now. Glad to hear BIL is keeping positive it is essential, not always easy though
mrs-m - how is Lily coming along now?
chalky - ooo thats small, hope she is ok, nice hats love the colour.Your bendy day today then:D I used to love yoga but after an op I had some years ago I couldn't manage it, I never did get back into into it
psso - how are you? not doing too much I hope
may - thinking about you lots hope you are ok
shaz - hope all went well with the move

I finished off the neckwarmer last night it's taken me aaaages have only been doing a few rows at a time because of my wrist, came out a treat it's for my DIL as an extra for Christmas, but I tried it and its so warm and stretches lovely so will do one for me, here's what I did....
I used chunky wool, cast on 125 sts on a 6mm circular needle (thanks chalky) and did an easy 3x1 rib for 13 inches then cast off, easy peesy...can be done straight as well, will post a pic later :)

Well better go get OH up
    Love to all
    Anne

Hi everyone; I've not caught up with the thread for a couple of days. We've been really busy lately and, to top it all, I think I have another cold - something is definitely getting up my nose (besides DH!). It feels more like an allergic reaction to something, but we have none of the usual culprits (perfume, air-fresheners, and so on) in the house, so I have no idea what it is. Anyway, it's the last thing I wanted right now with so much going on.

Salome - there's nothing worse than cold hands. I'm sure your dear dad will appreciate some fingerless gloves.

Welcome to Prepareathome - it's great to have you with us, and I hope you enjoy it here! This is a lovely thread full of wonderful people!

Pippa - it's so good that your OH is managing to eat a little.

Thanks to you all for your kind thoughts about BIL. His second round of chemo starts on Thursday; at least he hasn't had to wait too long.

Chalky - what a tiny little one. She has a lovely name, doesn't she? I'm sure your little hats will keep her well and truly warm.

The water board actually turned up this morning to do their bit towards re-routing our water supply, so now DH and a friend are finishing off the new pipework, and moving the outside tap to a much more convenient position closer to the house rather than a couple of fields away!

I shall read back through the thread a bit later but, meanwhile, I hope you are all well and happy.

This will be a week of pop in and pop out....DH is due to return to the UK at the end of this week for a fortnights holiday, so I am running ragged attempting to organise him (NEVER HAPPEN EVEN IF I HAD YEARS TO DO IT). I hope you are all keeping well, although I see Kathy something is getting up your nose - apart from French bureaucracy - last week we had the fella testing for lead and asbestos and tomorrow have the geometre to measure out the land and garden that DS is selling I have taken the results for the lead and asbestos to the notaire as well as the builder and the maire and no doubt will have to repeat the whole process again when we get the new plans. This is wearing a wee bit thin right now.....still at least I get to practice my French for numpties. My car is booked in for a service tomorrow, nothing worse than the winter hits and cars won't start so I try to beat the rush.

You all take great care I will be back lurking if not posting..................can't keep me away for too long you know.

  • Good Afternoon Everyone!

I'm after a bit of advice please.
Does anyone know of a 'cheap' courier?
If anyone sends up to Lou 'Loving Hands'
do you use any one in particular?
I have quite a lot of Blankets to send off to Dorset.
    Thank you
    Suex

I always use parcels to go and have found them entirely reliable and much more reasonably priced than Royal Mail. I think they even have the facility to drop your parcel off at a local drop off point!
    Hope this helps.---- Lucky Dorset!
