evening lovlies.
Thanks for your thoughts over the death of my uncle - I didnt know him very well but whats upsetting me more is that I cant be there to support my cousin who i love dearly. Its times like this that I get angry about being ill.:(
shaz the flat is lovely news and whatever you think you are doing very well getting organised - its amazing how it all suddenly comes together at the end - so long as you get the stuff out you can sort at the other end. its brilliant that you dont have to pay the full licence - a nice start to your new budget!!:D Just think only a few more days and you can then relax and take it slowly and get your lovely new home just the way you want it - have you no extra people to help you - even if just an hour here and there - and dont be killing yourself cleaning your old house when its empty - the council will have to do that anyway. As for joshua - its very hard but he is choosing that way of life - maybe once you are settled you could cook some portions for his fridge or freezer that might encourage him - Also I dont know if its something you would consider but maybe speaking to his support worker and telling them of the mess and how he is living and what can they do about it - dont take all the burden on yourself hun as you will only get too stressed and moving is stressful enough - but wont it be lovely to have your first Christmas in a new home.
roamin your bell decoration is so cute - I might give it a try. And a big well done for getting all your shopping done:T As for me and the Vestry committee I volunteered last Jan and its for 3 years - some of the things will be temporary so not all that bad and I love being involved. Its my way of contributing to the life of the Cathedral.
mioliere wow 15 months no wonder you are getting excited!!!
chalky love the bouquet what a great idea.
Mrs MP hope wee Lily is improving
f1 glad your biopsy went ok and you dont have to wait too long for the results
pippa great to hear that OH has managed a little more food -long may it continue to be easier for him
ISOM not long now until your long weekend / short week and you can relax a bit - I recommend that you play with that kitten - bound to make you feel good!!!
BTW my mouse has been very naughty and clicked on the kemps site (again!!!) - could I borrow a kittie to sort it out???
not managing much woolly stuff this week but that should change next week - well I can dream cant I:rotfl:
if I could just get Christmas finished with then I could relax and do my own thing - that is definately going to be my motto next year - I hope you will all help me keep to it:D
ok having my best friends for coffee tomorrow so had better go tidy up and put today's shopping away.
love and hugs to you all

Hi everyone
F1 – I’m so glad it was over so quickly for you; you must be so relieved after worrying about it. Yes, you‘re right, the red tape does get to me which is another reason that I am longing to get back home to have a break from it! It’s stressful because there’s no let-up; no sooner do you get one thing sorted out, than another one crops up, and most of it is completely unnecessary and downright confusing! The worst thing is that I know it’s all to do with keeping people employed here!
Jean – I get Frontline for the stray cat (which I think once belonged to the neighbours but now lives with us!) from Viovet http://www.viovet.co.uk/ (at half the price compared to here!). They don’t deliver abroad so I get it sent to my DS1 and he posts it to me; as it’s only a small package, it doesn’t cost that much in postage. I have also noticed that Leclerc supermarket sells an own-brand version now (about €4 or €5 for one dose) but I have no idea how effective it is.
ISOM –hope the ‘girlie’ test went OK. I’m sure you’ve made the right decision about your family dilemma. There’s only so much you can do, isn’t there?
Shaz – my boys were always losing gloves; it was a real pain when they got too old for me to sew a glove to each end of a piece of cord threaded through the sleeves of their coats! Suddenly, that wasn’t a cool look! Try not to get too stressed about the move; easier said than done, I know, but just think that, once you’re in, you’ll have more time to get sorted. The ‘getting in’ is the worst bit, I think! Good luck! Please don’t spend too much time worrying about Josh, although I know you can’t help it. He’s old enough to take care of himself and, hopefully, will come to his senses soon. Right now, you have enough on your plate. Tootifrooti’s advice is great, I think.
Chalky - lovely stocking!
Kinsey – I must admit that I hate decorating, I really do! I think it’s because DH and I have always bought houses that needed major renovation (the current one being the worst, by far!), and I feel we’ve wasted a lot of time over the years doing them up instead of just living. The next house we buy will be our last!
Tootifrooti – yes, it IS a long time since I’ve been back at home!
Anyway, the news from my sister is that my BIL starts another round of chemo on 1st December. We’re glad it’s not too long to wait but so worried and, I must admit, angry (with the illness, not with anyone that has been treating him) that he needs it again, just when we thought things were starting to look up. The whole medical team have looked after him really well, but not even they have been able to work miracles, it seems. I’m just so pleased that we will be able to see him soon.
Well, yesterday went by in a rush as usual, though I did manage to get some Christmas wrapping done, amongst other things. Believe it or not, after all we have been through here, we have tentatively put our house on the market, and had someone round to look at it yesterday afternoon, a lovely young couple with a baby girl the same age as Megan – nine months! She was gorgeous, really smiley once she’d got over looking at DH (who is 6’4”)! Anyway, I think it’s very possibly the worst time to be trying to sell a house, especially as people can only view during the day or at weekends because it’s too dark at night, but you never know!
Well, today I have to visit the water board over moving the water meter – it’s been on the building plot that we sold in 2007, and which has now been bought by someone else who has just started building his house, so we have put in all the pipes and the new water point, and we just have to have the counter put in. Hopefully, that will go without a hitch …maybe; after all, this is France!
Have a great day, everyone.

Hi there
not been around lately, been struggling with my health but have now given myself a kick up the behind and decided enough is enough I will just have to get a grip and not give up on the knitting.
Even when "not knitting" I managed a hat and scarf set for my nephew and a scarf for my niece to wrap as a little extra at Xmas. I also knitted a pair of socks and a matching pair of wrist warmers for myself as I have realised that as long as my hands and feet are warm then I don't feel too cold.
Am plodding on with a 4 ply baby bunting at the minute just a few rows at a time. Usually I can finish one really quickly but this time it seems to be taking ages.
Next week OH is taking a weeks leave and we are looking after our DGS both Mon and Tues including overnight as DD is starting a new job which means 2 full days training. It doesn't make sense to take him home to have to pick him up early again the next day :j
Have decided to knit him a larger size tank top ready for next summer as the one I knitted for this year he wore loads. It will be something extra for him to open at Xmas as if he won't have loads already
When I go to choose some wool for it next week I will pick up some more white to make another sands blanket as that is something that I can just pick up and put down easily enough.
Well after writing what seems an essay I will offer positive thoughts for all who need them as I can see that lots of you are having difficult times. I am going to make an effort to post more often even if I nothing worth saying IYKWIM.
Just to add I did knit some more things which I have not updated so will be back to do that on Sunday.knitted so far 2011 24 Baby Hats 11 Bunting 24 Emergency squares 1 Angels Pocket 1 Baby Blanket 19 IS Hats 1 Sands blanket 12 Mrs Twins squares 2012 24 Baby Hats 6 Angels Pocket 7 Baby Blankets 14 Baby Buntings 2 Body Warmers 1 Baby Jacket0 -
Kathy good luck with the water meter and loads of luck with the house - maybe its meant to be and the family came along at the right time - it only takes one buyer! And strength and prayers to your sister and BiL -I hope the chemo does a better job this time and he wont feel too ill over Christmas.
Pippa that is wonderful news a LB is a huge achievement and the fact that he wants to go out is wonderful - you are being very wise drawing up the guidelines before you go out as it is so easy to to get carried away and suffer afterwards - hope you have a lovely time out.
Chalky I forgot to say how lovely your stocking is - and you rattled it up in no time - how lovely and it is something for her to keep.
busy housework and tidying and friends coming day today so best get a wiggle on!!!
Hope Shaz is making more progress and everyone else has a productive day too.
love and hugs
toots xx

Thanks, Tootifrooti - it's a worrying time. He was very ill and severely jaundiced this time last year, and losing weight rapidly. That all seemed to change for a few months this year and he's enjoyed feeling fit and healthy;. this latest setback has caught us all off guard. I'm just so pleased that we are going back for Christmas so that we can see him and the rest of the family. The saving grace with my BIL is that he is a real fighter and says he's damned if he's just going to give in to it, so I'm sure his attitude will serve him well. Fingers crossed, and thanks for your thoughts.
Pippa - I think it's wonderful that your OH is managing to eat a little bit of proper food every day. And I think your strategy for him getting out and about is just right. Love to you both.
Knitter nan - hugs to you. I hope things look up for you soon.
Kinsey - I haven't been to the water board yet; do you think I'm finding every excuse in the book not to go?! Seriously, I've decided to draw a plan to help me explain the situation, which will probably confuse them even more! I will go this afternoon, though, because I don't want it hanging round me; the last time I went there on a Monday, they were closed, so I can't really leave it until Tuesday! You never know, it might go quite well (says she looking at a flock of pigs flying past the window!).
Anyway, off to prep some veg for tonight's Thai stir-fry.
