Just popped in before taking the hill up to Bedfordshire!

Sorry sisters are not giving happiness at the moment. I never had a sister but always wanted one! It really is true that you generally want what you can't have. Perhaps sometimes the old sayings are full of truth. " True friends are the family we would choose for ourselves!"

How lovely to hear of Maytaurus. Pam, Purple Teddy Bear, Salome, Annakat,Kinsey,Mrs MW,Linedancerann,Dpixie,Seakay ,PSSO. All the newbies and anyone else who is MIA just now:):):)
Try and do a good deed every day.
  • hello everyone
thanks chalky for asking after me:A

I have lost sight of so many days just recently - last week I kinda wore myself out and decided I would re-prioritise this week and so far I have coped better - but there just isnt enough hours in the day or energy in my body:rotfl: Had to go to a committee meeting at the cathedral tonight and had a bit of work to do for that - now I have more!!!!

Trying real hard to concentrate on one thing at a time but I am so used to juggling that I am finding it difficult - we also had a death in the family on friday - an elderly uncle and I have been the messenger to some of the family for my cousin - it wears you out phoning and repeating the same info - that has taken quite a lot of time but glad to help her as she is like a sister (I think) - funny how the posts have been about sisters! I always wanted one too!

Have done 3 more scarves for my friend to sell at her fairs but need to do some for Christmas presents now and some cowls - oh and i think some of those kits will be arriving here soon too - I think I need to delete kemps from my favourites.

I have been trying to keep up although not been posting and my thoughts have been with you all.
Shaz and her move - can you do a Mary Poppins and wiggle your nose at the packing - good luck but be careful
Pippa hoping you and your OH are doing better and love the uggs:T
Mrs MP and her iron tablets (been there!) and the littlies -am praying for them both
    Nice to hear from May
    ISOM
for having to lose her sister but sounds like the right decision -hard but right (((hugs)))
    welcome to Rummer
they are lovely here and you will soon be addicted
Mioliere and Roaming your red tape sounds horrendous - good luck - I think i would have given up and come home :rotfl: you both deserve medals:D
f1 thinking about you for tomorrow and hope the outcome is ok
chalky sock bouquet is brilliant - super idea - countdown to Gilberto how exciting for you all xx
Mioliere praying for your BiL and his treatment. and for your Mum and sending strength vibes to your sister. I am sure being at the end of the phone helps her but I can understand your feeling of helplessness (((hugs)))

    I love Jean's bookmarks, Pippa's strips, Chalky's cardi - you are all so talented:T:T

If I have missed you then please dont be offended as I have tried to do a quick catch up before bed and didnt have time to read all the posts - loads of love and hugs to everyone - there seems to be a lot of 'problems' at the moment - must be the weather:D

take care all and I will hopefully be postig more this week

    toots xx
    Peace will be mine
could do better - must try harder

    hello all

roamin, dear roamin - you have made me die of laughing - your way with words is amazing a girl after my own heart "knicker department" really ! told DH who sadly laughed but had that look in his eye .......... need i say more - he dont get it! - thank you xxx glad you got most shopping done - if its any help and Amazon cover over to France they do have a mad monday sale - some good things for men on there at good prices xx

isom/sock knitter - I have to say I admire you for standing up to the sisters - much the same really I have been sniped at by family most of my life in particular the sisters - my family have always sniped at me - I have often thought they dont feel like family and living without them would be better than constant biting and would probably make me better xx

BUT i see chalkys point - you have no sister and you would love one (I could give away two if you would like!!) so I spare a thought for those that have not got one or have lost one xxx

ladies - Thanks for your support re: tomorrow - its nice to get a virtual "hug" if you know what I mean xx

Anyway Im off - night night - sleep tight xxx

    Mornin all
woke up to sunshine today makes a change... it's been so dull lately

DOH had a quarter of a small pizza last night :T didn't manage much of the base but small steps as they say. We are off out again today I NEED  some yellow wool, and he needs to build up a bit now so a short walk around the local shops should help.

mrs-moneypenny - Iron has the same effect on me it just screws my whole system up IYKWIM ;)
jean - when I can knit properly I will do the animals and mr/mrs Noah, the ark is made of stiff card at the back of the book and comes out to stand alone looks really good. like f1 I laughed at your post you have a "lovely turn of phrase" :rotfl::rotfl:
kathy -:mad::mad: how on earth do you stand it, sounds like most of it isn't really necessary either,
f1 - hope things go well today I am thinking of you x
shaz - sounds like things are all coming together nicely for you now, not much longer ooo I think its so exciting moving house
chalky - what a novel way of sending socks, the stocking sounds great, pic please when done. My mum used to say when we were kids " right you lot up the wooden hill to Bedfordshire" and off we 3 would go scrambling up the stairs, funny how things stick in your head isn't it?
hi toots nice to see you... dont do it if you delete Kemps you will regret it :rotfl:
ISOM - a hard decision to make but sometimes these things are necessary to keep your sanity x

Started doing the edging on a blanket I made for my friend who is always bringing me wool, she loves pinks so I saved most of them up and did an oblong granny in all shades including a heathery/maroony sort of colour, never done an oblong before and it came out really well.

(((hugs))) for all including all MIA's hope you are all well and just having a bit of a break

Good morning one and all and special gentle thoughts and a big hug if you need one right now. Great days ,Christmas coming and plates spinning are not really a good recipe for peace and tranquility!!!
That is one of the things I love about here at this time of year-- There is no real evidence of Christmas at all!! The beautiful pointsettias arrive but thats about it!!

I have to do my madness in September before we come and then as the years are advancing I forget what I have done so now I have to tuck labels on the parcels to say whet is inside them!!!

I am off to finish the stocking -- pics later but I am also off to buy some rolos --- Look at these slimming little morsels!!
    http://www.stumbleupon.com/su/1whdwA/glorioustreats.blogspot.com/2010/11/rolo-pretzel-bites-easy-and-delicious.html

Yummy! I love chocolate and nuts best of all,of anything ,and that slight saltiness just makes it better!
Love to you all no matter what you are doing xx

Anne - Great stuff pizza eh...........way to go that man - no matter how much or how little, he ate it and kept it down. Don't push him too far with the shops, I had to take to the car on plenty of occasions leaving DH to just get on with it......I am still not good to go for a whole day even with long lunch in the middle, but I will get there and so will your Darling.
CHALKY - you should be shot...............my favourites are the reeces choc/peanut cups.will look out their recipe - like you I love the salt and choc together.

ISOM - I only work with my DWS because we don't live near each other and haven't since she was about 18..........we love each other dearly and get on fine but not in each others pockets - so I can well understand your decision - no disgrace in that at all.
F1..........where did your transandental meditation take you to this fine sunny day? Nirvana, Narnia and back? Let us know.
Mrs Money penny - how do BOYS manage to only loose ONE of gloves, socks, etc?

    Hi everyone.

Jean - fabulous jingly ornament. What a great idea! Well done on getting the Christmas shopping done, too. Mine's almost done but I still need to find something for DS2's birthday on 6th December (it's his 30th (yikes!) so I want something that I can post for him to open on the day), and christening presents for Summer and Megan, and I just can't find anything here! My Secret Santa is ready for posting now, so I shall get that off the next time I go shopping. I'm buying myself a laptop when we're back in the UK (my present to myself!). I use a desktop here, which I would never part with, especially for my online work, but I want a laptop as a back-up (would have come in useful when lightning struck the house in the summer and my computer needed emergency attention) and for taking with me when I go away. I think we'll need a trailer for all the shopping I want to bring back; after all, it's been almost fifteen months since we were last in the UK!

Chalky - that's a beautiful bouquet. Well done!

ISOM - it's so sad that you've fallen out with your sister, but these things happen. I am lucky enough to have two sisters, and one brother, not that I see as much of them as I would like, but we keep in touch via phone, Skype, email and so on.

Pippa - I'm so glad that your OH has been able to eat little bits here and there. They will all help. As for the red tape, it really does do my head in, and you are quite right, most of it is unnecessary and totally illogical. Whenever I am battling with it, I always think of Voltaire's words, which I think must have been written solely for the French: 'Le sens commun n'est pas si commun' (common sense is not so common). It certainly isn't very common here!

Mrs Moneypenny - hope Lily is doing well.

Tootifrooti - sorry to hear about the death in the family.

F1 - hope things have gone well for you today.

Shaz - hope things are on course for your great move. Not long now!

Well, I'm off to do some work.

    me again
we had a nice little stroll around the square popped into the bank, then the "crash bang wallop" shop for cards, christmas wrapping paper, yellow wool and some gift tags, then to the freezer shop for some fish for Mum and Brains Faggots for DOH can you believe he asked for some...well he might just be able to eat some as they are quite soft we shall see... but I will get anything if he can get it down and keep it there :)

I sent some parcels yesterday my first for a while, so MrsTwins one on its way to you, one for you Shelley and one for you Lou.

Sounds like I've been really busy doesn't it? but alas no some were in one of my "done and ready for posting" boxes and a few at the bottom of my bag, should have sent them ages ago really :o

mrs-moneypenny - thanks for the offer of the yellow wool thats really kind of you x I did manage to get a ball, not quite the eggy type yellow I wanted but I think it should do :) its for flower centres and penguin beaks when I get started that is ;)

Well off to put the dinner in the oven
    have nice evenings all
