Hi everyone
I hope Jean is surviving her Christmas shopping spree! She'll come back cream-crackered, no doubt!
Shaz - I bet you're counting down the days now!
F1 - good luck with the biopsy. I hope it all goes well for you.
Pippa - hope your OH is gaining a little more weight.
Mrs Moneypenny - how is little Lily?
Well, I am knee deep in yet more red tape; life just wouldn't be the same here without it! We have to have private health insurance here and the last company we used were so inefficient that we changed to a new one. The old one carried on taking premiums out of my account, (even though I'd given the three months' notice required to cancel the contract), and now owe me two months, and they don't see why they should pay it back! My current insurers have said they will see what they can do, so I'm getting all the paperwork together for them to take them on. There is always a problem here and it always takes up so much time to sort out.
Apart from that, it's a beautiful sunny day here; we really are having a lovely autumn this year.
I hope the sun is shining for all of you.

Just a little idea if you want a special little present for a little girl or big girl in your life!
It literally takes a few minutes to put together and I just pop a note in to make sure the recipient knows the roses are held in place with sticks!
Here are the instructions from youtube. But I think you can let your imagination run wild!

Mrs Moneypenny-- Sorry to hear little Lily is not so well today-- What a worry for you all!
Kathy -- Red tape = Smoke coming out of your ears!!!
Jean How did the shopping go?
F1- I hope you manage to get out for your appointment but I am so sorry that it is not for a real treat! Make sure you give yourself one afterwards.
Shaz-- Hope packing is going well!
Toots How are you?
I have tried to lay my hands on some velvet today-- the charity shop and at lunch with friends but no luck. So this afternoon I pulled out a bright red jumper I acquired for a felting project a while ago and I have cut 2 stocking shapes, crocheted 6 snowflakes, made a green, red and white curly whirly and bought a big bell so tomorrow I am going to try and assemble it. Of course I will put some bonkers pictures on
Lots of love to one and all xxTry and do a good deed every day.0 -
Shopping completed apart from FOUR BOYS/MEN ones to get and I am NOT returning to the proper shops......it will be cyber space shopping for me from now on. How I am so UNLIKE MY MOTHER (Who shopped every Saturday for Scotland), or for that matter my DWS - she is always on the ball with the shopping, even DH 'likes it' I JUST SUFFER IT- AND ALWAYS HAVE.
Kathy RED TAPE- remember back in May when I found out that my Hospital cover which I had paid for donkey's years didn't actually cover my stay in hospital so I cancelled it......MAY THAT WAS...well here we are it's now NOVEMBER and still fighting with them...........IF THEY COULD JUST STOP REMOVING THE PAYMENTS FROM MY ACCOUNT I would be happy to walk away without a re-fund! They will not get the better of me tho' cos I phone them every week and demand they fix it - they will get fed up with me some of these days!
F1 good luck for the knicker deparmtnet appointment....do a bit of transandental meditation to somewhere really nice (that's always worked for me)
Mrs Moneypenny...love for those littlies, hope that Lilly is on the mend shortly
Chalky - sounds just lovely that does...(necessity is the mother of invention...........and its all made with love anyway so it will be perfect! Your BOUQUET looks gorgeous - I off course would stuff that up - no good with flower arrangements.....in fact I think my dogs can do better than I can in that department......looking forward to the photies of the sock when done.
SHAZ are you still on line? did you cancel the cancellation as the move date got moved?? If you see this, please take a bit of a break, it will all be done regardless of whether you steam into it or whether you just plod along.
Right off for a glass of something RED and ALCOHOLIC to calm me down a bit, then I will see what bargains I can find online for the last of the pressies!

Any news from knitter nan etc?
Well been a bit of a week for me; had a couple of days off and have been doing some "life sorting". I have sadly had a very difficult "relationship" with my sister over the years and after yet another batch of being sniped at I decided that enough was enough and have said that I dont want contact as its so destructive...very sad but feel its the right thing and if Im honest has been a long time coming. Have booked a day off next Mon so a second long weekend which will be good; was going to take Friday so I only had a three day week but wasnt to be!!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -
ISOM, sorry to hear things havent gone well with your sister, but no relationship with her will be better than a destructive one. i havent spoken to my sister in 20 years. enjoy the long weekend, have you anything planned
:wave:hi maytaurus, hope you are well, miss your colourful posts, ((hugs))
dawn, how are you hun, hope things are improving, will meet up soon
pam, how are you hun, sorry i havent been in touch for a while, hope to meet again soon
after making several phone calls, have decided no packing is getting done tonight, i am exhausted. at least i have a decorator sorted, who i met earlier today to measure up. and gave me a reasonable quote, not the cheapest, but well recommended, and lots of experiance. he is going to start stripping the walls on thursday, so majority of mess out of way before we move in saturday. have gas engineer booked for thurs so we can have boiler and heating on, joiner coming friday to put curtain poles, fit blinds etc.
so much to do in so little time
right computer going off and i'm off for a soak, and a bit of tv after
goodnight god bless
