Oh, Shaz - it's about time you had some good news, it really is! Fingers crossed that this is the start of a whole new and bright chapter for you.
Pippa - I hope he can enjoy some shepherd's pie; that's one meal on my list of comfort foods and it's sure to do him good.

hi all
kathy - I am so sorry to hear about BIL - as for your Mum DOH's Nan (my nan-in-law) is nearly 91 and still lively but just lately her memory has been going a bit astray telling me she had been to visit me and had a lovely time??? not recognising her son's wedding photos etc etc the worst being she could not remember one sunday how to walk to her son's - they got to her the Drs and they are doing an assessment at the Drs shortly (they think its early dementia/alzeihmers - the only thing we have noticed is that while my FIL (her son) has been having his prostate cancer treatment and all the problems he has had since finishing treatment she has been distraught and the more worried she becomes the worse her memory is - whilst staying at her Drs she was as bright as a button and for a few days upon return but after a few days of FIL she was all over the place again - take care sending you loving thoughts and big hugs xx
shaz - BRILLIANT NEWS :j:j:j:j xx

few more in the making............not too sure about the fluffy yarn tho' - it was a mare to crochet and turns out a bit big for my liking still you have to try eh.
the stem - chain for 40 ish, DC all the way back up the stem.
Daisy Flower - 1) magic circle or 4 chain Slip stitch to close, 2) 11 DC's slip stitch and chance yarn to outer colour.3) Chain 11 ss into next DC, chain 11 ss into next DC all the way round to end ...............I couldn't believe I did this following a French Crochet flower pattern.
I also tried out the PUFF FLOWER crochet pattern I found on the web as well as a couple of Chalky's easy flowers, I am so addicted.............think the school Christmas Fete
will be swimming in them. I didn't enjoy doing the cotton "BOYS" ONES but that was probably because I had to pay MORE ATTENTION! I have added a crochet flower book onto my christmas book list, if Santa forgets (or I have not been good enough) I will get it for myself come December 26th. Off to do some more as you say Kinsey - they use up all the little scraps........my problem is I have loads of 1/2/3 and 4 ply, but limited bits of DK - so it will mean smaller flowers when I run out.
SHAZ - you still walking round with that huge GRIN all over your face???

Hello
I am a beginner at crochet but I wondered if there was a simple pattern I could follow to create something of value for a charity? Just keen to do my bitTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
I have typed up an answer for this twice and lost it so here goes third time lucky Welcome Rummer and if you can do a granny square you have a huge choice of easy things to do
I started with a Pet Blanket...just granny square till it got big enough to fit a puppy (DK and no 4mm hook)
then moved onto Baby Blanket.....same granny square but did it in Baby colour
then got caught up with hexagon jacket on the link below
http://www.bevscountrycottage.com/hexagon-jacket.html
I also checked out Linda Chalky's site because she has some great tutorials for crochet stitches and a lovely wee purse so easy to follow!
http://chalkygilbert.blogspot.com/
so there is a start for you, now if you would other things to try just come back and ask............. good luck

Big welcome Rummer.
Shaz if I was moving that quickly I'd need an army! I do hope it all goes to plan.
roamin' any sort of fancy yarn is hard to crochet with isn't it? Sometimes it's worth the effort though.0
