  • I have just spent THREE HOURS ordering some Flea/tick stuff for the two dogs and some linens & towels for the house.................boy oh boy .....I did the whole online christmas shop in less time Sometimes you get lucky with a website and some time you just get baffled, not helped by the fact I am in France I suspect!! All done now tho' except the company supplying the linens need a phone call from me or they will phone me over payment and pick up! So providing I make sure that DH has a proper copy of the invoices he should be able to collect them....ha ha Off for a glass of red to calm me down

F1 sorry missed your post yest. How you feeling?
Tooti special thoughts to you too with a loss; know what you mean about having to repeat things...its v wearing isnt it!
Well for those of you who have done all your Christmas shopping BAH say I!! I keep thinking I have done well and then remember someone else Ive forgotten and still got two main presents!
Thanks for all your thoughts re family situation; its possibly the most difficult decision I have made if Im honest as have always felt that family is family and youre stuck with them; one of the things counseling helped me realise was that the constant digs were eroding my confidence and incidents have been getting all the more frequent and increasingly negative hurtful and Ive felt quite exhausted by it for a while. Because of my job I have felt that I should be able to make it better but no matter what I have done, or whichever strategy Ive tried but its never enough so I just decided to be kind to myself and leave the door open if she is ever able to be respectful...I live in hope but wont hold my breath!
Crafty wise am doing my quilt and hope to finish it tonight so am off to find my thimble in the deepest depths of "THE" craft cupboard! Wish me luck!!
oo crossed posts! F1 phew!! Good that you are ok. Well turns out I have a three day week next week as am on strike on weds unless the g'ment can negotiate properly! Alas the comments that the strike is "irresponsible!" according to Mr Cameron will not assist and made my blood boil! In real terms we have had massive cuts as no real pay increase plus no increase in fuel allowance etc for the last decade plus a good % of our work depends on good will/commitment of staff and that isnt even considered grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr v cross...probably even more than French paperwork would make me!! So what shall I do? Umm prob v little other than make some Christmas presents, sleep and chill but I also have the nasty girlie test and have to take Shiomi (currently eating Isoke's tail!) to the vet BUT may also book a nice massage if we can get on Sat! Sorry Ive waffled!

tootifrooti, slow down and make some time for yourself, sorry to hear about your uncle
decorater starting at 8.30 am tommorrow, so early start there for me, gas engineer coming to flat tommorrow afternoon, so we will have heating, cos its so cold in there just now, concrete floors dont help. got another quote for carpets fitting, so much cheaper than carpet rite. going to buy blinds and curtain poles and bathroom cabinet tommorrow, ready for joiner to fit on friday along with other jobs.
rang tv licence and i only have to pay £7.50 a year now i'm in sheltered housing scheme. house insurance has gone up tho, as it apparently costs more to insure a flat than a house.

    Good morning all,
Well I've read through and caught up with all the posts and it's all gone straight out of my head again, typical.

ISOM what a hard and difficult decision to make but your life will be much more comfortable for it I'm sure. Big hugs.

roamin' the little bell ornament is delightful, and looks quite easy to copy :)

I'm about to start painting the living room, wish me luck. I've always done all my own decorating but I'm thinking now I'm at an age where I might pay someone to do it for me. painful hands don't help, nor does spending too much time on here!

Love to everyone as always. xxx
  • morning all
just having a quick cuppa before i go back down to the flat with more stuff.
kinsey, dont envy you the decorating, i've got someone doing mine as i type. he's stripping the walls today, while i pack etc, not getting as far as i would like.
had a lovely phone call from perfungi pam this morn, which cheered me up no end, this moving business is soooo stressful, but will be worth it in the end

Hello and love to you all xxx
Well it has poured with rain here all day! Very much needed and we have some friends coming for a meal this evening so we have been playing " Mastechef!" and being all cheffy.
The Rolo pretzels are as predicted gorgeous and so easy and I have made truffles made with Oreos and Cream Cheese. I have had to put them away as they are too tempting. I will take a piccie later as they would be great as presents at Christmas time. Purple Teddy Bear your little ones could make them so easily!

Anyway I have also finished the stocking for my Great Niece!
Full info on my blog but here is a piccie!

feeling bit low this evening, am very tired and aching, plus so much still to do. tonight i been to see joshua, and take him some things from the house, plates, xmas decs, etc, he looks terrible, he is drinking heavily, barely eating, because he cant be bothered, smoking like a chimney. his flat is a mess, two microwaves in living room, so he can warm a pie and cook micro chips at same time without leaving the sofa, with crates of lager at his feet.
i didnt bring him up this way, wish there was something i could do to help him,

been long day, off to prepare some food, and a long soak in bath planned.

    love to all
