  • shaz and we will all be thinking of you too and hoping that your new home will soon be snug and comfy for you.

welcome prepare - nice to see you over here - 40 stitches in double knitting gives you 6 inches width and then just knit until 6 inches. loads of links on the first post but depends on what you have wool wise the squares are great for using up odds.

unfortunately as its a free listing day on ebay this has to be an ebay day in between a visit from a friend. its a day for indoors as the wind is horrendous - outside I mean:rotfl: extremely wintery - sleet showers yesterday and only 2 degrees some of the time - today not so cold but a damaging wind.

have a lovely day all and love and hugs to everyone.
    toots xx

Good morning and lots of love to alll-- A very warm welcome to Prepareathome and a special hi to all our oother new friends who have joined us lately! It is lovely getting to know you all!
Weell after a c ouple of cloudy days it is gorgeous here to day -- blue skies and sunshine wall to wall. So chairs are ready on the top balcony for a knit and natter. Will expect the magic carpet bout three!

I have to go to a Charity Fayre first. It is for the lost/stray dogs here. A wonderful charity and it is their Christmas Fayre! Hopefully some nearly new toy to start baby Gilberto's toy box under the stairs here!

I stayed up until nearly 2.00 last night. You know there are always Spanish stories about Juan.Pedro, paco etc. Well, a plumber came to our rescue a long time ago- He could not speak a word of English and we had very little Spanish but we have made friends and understand each other a little. Enough for hime to tell us his daughter suddenly went into labour (first Grandchild like us!) She nearly died as did baby. Both are on the mend but baby was born weighing 850grams!!!!!!! She is called Luna and now weighs 1.2 kilos. So of course out came the wool and the premiE patterns

,Pippa,Kathy,Toots,Mrs Mw,May,Annakat,Shaz.Pfungi, Purple Teddy Bear, Little Lily and anyone else with their hands overflowing
    -- Thinking of you all.

    Kinsey,Salome, F1, Jean - Hope all well.
ISOM Hope your chilled weekend is going well
Well must get on --- I am still in my jammies here!!!!!
Hope evryone has good days xx

Well I think the kick up the behind has worked as I have just finished the bunting this afternoon. I think the fact that I wanted to put my knitting bag away ready for the visit of my DGS helped. He is 20 months old and into everything but an absolute joy to look after. Not that I am biased at all :D

Prepareathome welcome I joined in here because I have health issues and so pop in now and again when I can.

Update 7 Mrs twins squares 3 baby hats 1 baby bunting This includes stuff from a few weeks ago that I didn't at the time.

Edited to add my signature is now correct.

    Hugs to all

  • f1 good to hear you are on the mend but dont be naughty again - when you feel ill go to the doc - you know it makes sense - lecture over !!! love and hugs and hope you are back to normal very soon - but dont worry I think normal is very over-rated:D

chalky oooooh the poor man - how lovely that he was able to share with you though - she must be a wee fighter because that is sseriously tiny and SCARY!!!!!! I think your hats are just gorgeous - are they your own pattern or can you give me a link? will keep little Luna in my prayers and her family too.

Knitter nan - you are back on track I see - well done to you but go steady - enjoy your little visitor - what fun but oh so tiring too!:rotfl:

I wonder how shaz is doing?

I am sore today so havent managed to do a lot - I think my busy friday has caught up - I went to church this morning and thats about it - the wind and rain here last night was horrendous and today is bitterly cold but dry - you cant win!!

In my re-organising I found a pattern book that I had forgotten about and it has a pattern I was needing so well pleased there.
Need to get the wee shrug and gloves finished this week to take to the hospital the week after - where does the time go?

Love and hugs to all of you especially the poorlies and the poorly OHs

  • evening lovelies! Thanks for good wishes; had a lovely massage yesterday followed by migraine today as all the toxins released but on the good side I have had a lovely quiet time "finishing" bits - crochet roll and quilt are done but I wont upload piccy of quilt until the recipient has it at Christmas! mummy knows I post here and I wouldnt put it past her to peek cos shes a devil like that!! Feeling alot better and calmer emotionally (steam coming out of my ears Friday and was "proper cross"!).
Tooti sounds like youve been a busy bunny! Hope all goes well at hospital for you...
Welcome prepare at home! Lots of knitting but more chat!
Pippa hope DH is ok and managing to eat more; hope you are bearing up too...
Mrs M any news on the babies?
Chalky lovely wee hats...will say one for the babies...enjoy the patio; not chance of that here and would be hypothermia!
F1 hope you are ok...hang in there, plenty of rest and sleep!
socky hope you get on the internet soon; great to hear that you are moving in and hope this is the start of a better future for you; sorry to hear about Josh but as an adult he has to start taking responsibility for his actions...if hes had that many red bulls then hes likely to have palpitations etc!! No wonder he felt poorly! Will say one for him :)
Right am off to watch garrows law which I love...his voice is incredibly soothing and hes also rather pleasing to the eye!!
Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
    Hi

What lovely crafty pics up the last few days :-)
My needles have been busy doing all sorts, and the hook :-)
I went to see my dad yesterday. He has advanced dementia, plus a lot of other health issues, doesn't remember much, though he does know who we are most of the time, he did remember our dog when I chatted to him about him yesterday lol. Dad doesn't speak much now, mainly nods and may say yes, no or ok. Anyway, he was tucked up in bed, with a thick woolley jacket on, and blankets all tucked around him, and his hands were freezing. His head was warm, and he wasn't shivering, but his hands were like ice. I thnk I'm going to make him some fingerless gloves that he can have on. I know his fingers will be exposed, but full gloves would be a bit unhygenic I think. I noticed that none of the residents had anything on their hands, or woolly hats on. They were all blanketed, so that was good, but I'm wondering whether to make a stock of head and hand stuff for these dear folk to wear. They are mainly all dementia patients. My husband said the carers would get flustered having to take the gloves off and then back on at dinners times etc, but it only takes a minute to do that doesn't it ???? Anyway, I'll do some for dad and see what the reaction is :-)
Have a blessed and proserous day. Hugs to all in need ((((hugs)))) Love you all.

    x
    A work in progress :D
