jean what a fantastic idea for an apron, my sons would have loved one of them when they were a bit younger.
my aunty dorothy who is no longer with us, would have had fun with it also, she had alzeimers or dementia, not sure which, or even if there is a difference.
hugs

Jean - I just love that apron; what a brilliant idea and one that I'm sure will take off! There's no end to what you can add, is there? Well done!
Shaz - you must be an expert in bringing up twins. I know how hard it can be with one at a time; I really admire you, and all parents of twins and more. My cousin had triplets and that was quite an adventure for her! They're all grown up now, but they led her a bit of a song and dance when they were teenagers!
Anyway, for those who follow my b**g (not the update one on my homepage, and not that I've updated it for ages, being extremely time-poor at the moment!) you'll see a post that is not the normal sort of thing I write. It's part of the online freelance work I do, and I've been asked to add the odd article to my blog, with links to products. It's taken me forever to find out how to link, but I think I've got it now! I will also try very hard to post more regularly on my blog - it has really taken a back seat lately.
My DH registered as self-employed here in France back in March this year. Well, having done all his bookkeeping when he was self-employed in the UK, you'd think the paperwork would be more or less the same but, oh no - France is nothing if not the worst place in the world for red tape, and it's been a nightmare getting to grips with it. I think I've sussed it all now, but only time will tell!
ISOM - a new hoover IS quite exciting, so you're not sad at all! I am definitely excited about going back to the UK for Christmas, but I have to try and keep my feet on the ground at the moment!
Mrs Twins - my snowman square should be on its way tomorrow; it just needs some eyes!

Thank you all for the lovely things you have said about my Apron and blankie (it is remaining cuddley - not even going near it with water/iron or anything else I run the risk of stuffing it up with my past history) as for the apron please - fling in ideas if you like I am always happy to try them, being stuck out here in the middle of nowhere I miss the exchange of ideas on a daily basis. I haven't done any sewing this afternoon, did an hour of weeding in the courtyard instead - this is an easy number I normally do with the heat gun and zap the sods as they appear but this year it has been left - due to other more pressing jobs, after it rains the earth washing down over the courtyard followed by all the grass and weed seeds so I am virtually starting over but the bending, walking etc is good to go now so will endeavour to do some daily and try and get it all clear before the winter sets in. Or at least clear most of it before it takes over the whole place. Off for a soak in the big bath then book, crochet and comfy chair for me.
Shaz - sounding extremely hopeful about the flat! Oh NO SUCH thing as a sad present received by me .....the CEMENT MIXER with the easter eggs in..........WELL I CERTAINLY DIDN'T THINK IT WAS SAD.....LOVED IT.The Hooligan Wooligan – age 9¾

Pippa - I do hope that your OH can find something that he enjoys eating. It must be very difficult for him.
Oh, Shaz - fingers still crossed for you and the other lady!
Jean - I've been thinking of other things that you could add to your aprons: smiley faces (a crocheted circle with a smiley face embroidered on it); some really thick strands of wool that can be plaited; some Shisha glass ( http://www.debbiecripps.co.uk/acatalog/Shishas__Sequins___Decorative_Motifs.html ) if it can be sewn in safely: tassels; a little 'book' of different coloured granny squares; mini bunting; animal beads; bells (the sort you can buy in haberdashery stores that can be covered in fabric or crochet....that's it so far, but I'll keep thinking!
Well, I'm just about to jump in the shower. It's been a late evening because DH had to stay on where he was working to make sure something he'd been spreading on a wall had gone 'off'!
Have a great evening, everyone.

shaz thats sounds very efficient and hopefully it means you will both be swapping much sooner - you had better get packing up your stash - just as well your cast is off next week - brilliant news - i am pleased for you.
Pippa (((hugs))) for you both - did they give him the stuff on prescription to drink that coats his throat and makes swallowing easier - I cant remember the name but if you need it let me know and I will find out - It made a huge difference to me - until I started using it it was like razors blades in my throat. xx
