There comes a time in life when you have to let go of all the pointless drama & the people who create it & surround yourself with people who make you laugh so hard that you forget about the bad and focus solely on the good. After all, life is too short to be anything but happy!
chalky :A:A:A:A:A thank you for posting this - its what people have been trying to tell me throught my illness and I do try to remember but this is a lovely reminder xxxx

Jean - it's a gorgeous blankie but, if you want it to lay flat, it needs blocking; here's an unfussy link http://dorischancrochet.com/blocking-is-your-friend/ Having said all that, I think it looks lovely just as it is! When you do another one, try blocking each square as you finish it.

Pippa - thinking about you and your OH.

Chalky - gulp! I had to review this wonderful singer for a written piece I was asked to do, and I had to listen to more of his music! He comes across as a lovely chap with the most fantastic voice. That is a truly lovely if tear-jerking song!

Well, I should be working but I do need breaks now and again - it's just that this one has lasted for about two hours!

  • Been knitting away very contentedly while I watch the news and toast my tootsies - got another baby shawl/blankie done last night. This one is lilac in Sirdar Snuggly DK and will be given to the Church's LIFE charity. I've started another in white for SANDS.

Well done on the blankie NOTJUSTLAURA, good luck with the SANDS - I do find them mentally taxing IYKWIM
Currently back on the chalky wee purses in crochet......link here

they are so quick and the instructions/tutorial is clear enough even for me.

OK below is a picture of a fidget/activity apron....or my interpretation of one. These are widely available in the USA for dementia/alzheimer patents as well as head trauma and autistic children. Giving them something to occupy their time, instead of picking holes in their clothes (MIL DID THAT), ripping pages out of books (MIL did that too), as well as a load of other nasty stuff.

Fee Fee and Helpers (Fiona on Loving Hands) and me have been chewing this one over for quite a few months now so I decided on Monday I was not stopping till I did at least one. I have a couple more cut out and waiting for me to hit the sewing machines again, jaw is aching after the dentist but hey I can take that!

From the top of the apron down........pocket with zip and large piece of silk sewn into it, large tartan ribbon - tied in a bow, wooden worry beads on string, biggest plastic buckle I could find in the shops, Valcro pocket with lots of lovely tactile material, elastic, lace, netting, trim, fringe, beads, (which I had on upside down originally - had to wear the apron to appreciate how it should work) and right at the very bottom a lace to put through some eyelets, I sewed over EVERYTHING at least half a dozen times - don't want any accidents. I have a ton of ideas buzzing around in my head for the next one oh but I just can't fit everything onto ONE APRON or the poor patient/recipient will topple over with the weight of the thing.
So if I am missing for a day or two please don't worry - I am busy in the sweatshop! Loving hugs sent to you all.

MummyofTwins - of course you can join us, and you'll receive a warm welcome from all the lovely ladies on here. Here's a link http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=39210432&postcount=1885 to a previous post on the thread that explains what we do in more detail. I hope you find it interesting and that you enjoy it here!

Shaz - fingers well and truly crossed that things work out for you, with the ESA and with being able to move somewhere that will give you a brand new start.

I finally got through to France Telecom and, as I thought, they had made a mistake on my bill and, as I predicted, I have to pay the bill they've sent me, and they'll credit the next one - and I shall make sure they do! Needless to say, they didn't apologise for the mistake - no-one here ever says sorry, even though there's a word for it in French!

Thank you so much for your warm welcome and my thanks are for everyone, Wednesdays and Thursdays are usually my days for nosying round the forum but I'll try and come on a bit more often just incase someone posts what to do with all the squares I'll be crocheting. I'm looking forward to it.
welcome to the thread mummy of twins. how old are your twins? i have twin boys aged 16, squares are always welcomed as others have pointed out.
had a good chat with gp, and they want me to slowly come off my anti depressants, over 10 weeks:eek:then start a new one. in the meantime i have to go and see her every two weeks. she has given me a medical certificate to send off with my esa form.
popped to mc'ds on way home for a latte, and then called at morrisons, and bought knit today and knit and crochet xmas special.
new years resolution, will be to stop buying any more knitting mags, as its just becoming an addiction now, and i'll never get round to knitting things from them all.
thanks for pms, will reply to them, then feet up with mag
    love to all
