Shaz - it's all looking very positive, and the council are really getting on with things; I really do hope that you are on your way!

Chalky - I echo Shaz about the sunshine bus - any news?

Hello and lots of love to all xx
Poor Doh was at the garage before it opened and knew that it was chock a block full of jobs but the chap who owns it is just brilliant. I taught both his boys and they were lovely too!!!
He was worried it might be the water pump but said to leave it and he would pop Sunny up on the ramp. Well, luckily it turned out to be the hose and even though he could not get a VW hose until Monday he has fitted a different one and says it will be fine!!! Well I hope so as the journey is a very long one for us when we arrive in Spain. I really can not believe how lucky we were as that could have happened on mile 1 of 600!!!! Even too far to push it to Kathy'S!!!!:rotfl: Thanks for your good wishes.

Well the concerted effort at finishing WIP's is nearly complete :j:j:j
I have just made up the last parcel for little Gilberto -- Ohhhhhh! Just think he may be here when we get back!!!

So now I am nearly ready for the off! Wool packed beside me of course!

But whilst we are away my niece is coming to stay foe a long weekend in our house and I was washing out the fridge this morning and got a bit carried away!! Oh! I must get carried away more often as the kitchen cupboards/drawers etc are all clean and sorted!! Wonderful!!

Well I may not have much more time to catch up with you all so hope all goes well until we are in Spain!

Jean -- Not too much weeding now! The edging is Picot edging and I love it. So simple. I just double crochet as many as you want and then chain 5 and work another double crochet in the same space to make a little loop.
I have just written a new crochet tutorial on my blog and it is included in it if you want a look!
Thank you also for link to the insurance for DMIL.I love the fidget apron. What a wonderful idea.

Pippa-- Lots of love to you both xxx You are so much in my thoughts. xx
Toots - Brilliant on the scarves
Psso -- I hope "Little J" is well and all your family too x
Shaz-- Just keep focused on the new flat and being near special friends x
PUrple Teddy Bear-- I hope you feel brighter soon
Seakay-- Hope you are feeling a bit better
Kathy-- I can just visualise you hanging out your washing etc with Christmas images in your mind!

Lots of love to all our friends lurking -- Kinsey- I do hope you are OK x
Lots of gentle thoughts to you all x

Well luckily we are going to DSIL'S for tea-- Just as well as the cupboards may be clean but they are also very bare!!!!;)
Try and do a good deed every day.

    afternoon all

what a strange day...cloudy...sunshine...rain lots of it...sun again and overall its bl***y cold, only to be expected I suppose, but after the lovely days we have had lately it comes as a bit of a shock ;) had to go put some socks on

OH taking it easy reading James Patterson bet he is asleep when I venture into the living room :) it will do him good

I am so excited :jwe have visitors from tonight until Sunday...DS1/DIL and the girls are coming. I am looking forward to seeing them so much, seems ages since we all met down in Poole for a few days.
Its roughly a 3 hour journey from Haywards Heath and they will be coming straight from school so should arrive 6:30 - 7:00.
I have been upstairs getting beds ready, toys out, and just generally tidying up stuff that needs to be put away before they get here, like the odd Christmas pressy ;)

kathy - yes I read the book way back in the 80's and could'nt put it down, I was even doing the washing one day with the book in my hand, not easy emptying the WM like that :rotfl:Forever Amber hmmm will have to look into that one I've heard of it but never read it so maybe a good idea for the dark days of Winter brrr makes me shiver just to think of it hate the cold I do...
jean - I already have the DVD set Mum borrowed it ages ago and I had forgotten about it :o so looks like a few hours in front of the TV
in order, did you ever see Scarlett the sequel to GWTW, it was ok but a lot of the actors were different so it took a while to get into it for me. Another favourite of mine is African Queen with Humphry Bogart and Katherine Hepburn, I think it's Bogys best film
shaz - what could be better than living near friends :) I hope everything goes well for you
chalky - what a pain hope you manage to get things sorted, anything that will cross is crossed believe me :rotfl:
edit: crossed posts WOW love your latest finished UFO's duffle coat looks great is it an easy pattern? would'nt mind trying that
PTB - (((hugs))) just for you x
f1 - where are you? I hope you are ok x

off for an hour with my knitting now, I really must sew the buttons on the UGG boots as well

I am sitting in the kitchen and can see down the hall and another bloomin Pizza/Curry/Taxi flyer come through the door can see the poster disappearing over the road now. I am so fed up with them...don't know why I get so cross... I will save them for DIL who will make them into paper bricks for the winter...there I've said it again the cold must be getting to me :D

    Sorry for rambling on

Chalky - lovely makes! I know the bus has been fixed but you do have breakdown cover, don't you? We actually had my car serviced the day before we were due to catch the ferry on one of our trips, and even that wasn't safe enough; the chap forgot to fill something back up (I think it was the radiator), and the car broke down as soon as we reached Caen, so we had to hunt for a garage. Not a nice experience especially as it was the rush hour and the peripherique is not the best place in France to be at that time of day! I hope everything goes well for you, but be prepared and, if you are within pushing distance of us, give us a shout! We're good at pushing cars and vans; a sunshine bus would be a bit different! If you don't clock in here again before you leave, bon voyage!

Well, the weather, after a lovely sunny morning, has now turned cool and grey; still, I got the washing dry, so that's something, I suppose.

Chalky your UFO's are lovely - hope you have a safe and uneventful trip back to wherever - dont be away from the thread tooooooooooo long.
Shaz the council are certainly being very quick - I do hope the admin people are just as quick.
Pippa have a lovely weekend with your family and little ones - dont let OH get carried away - if he needs a nap then put him to bed :rotfl:

it has been bright and not so cold here today - have spent most of the afternoon on the phone trying to sort out various direct debits and insurances - I think I have conquered it all.

Hope to get the pins going later

    love and hugs to everybody

    toots xx

Pippa - I've been known to prop a book up behind the taps when I'm washing up! The last book that did that to me was 'Sky Burial', by Xinran - a riveting true story that I just could not put down!

  • CHALKY Glad to hear the sunshine bus is A...O K for the trip....if it breaks down anywhere in Brittany give me a shout....I can certainly push vehicles..thank you so much for that timely little tutorial, I really did try and work it out on my ownsome but failed miserably...got it now tho, so will be back to the blanket over the weekend. ANNE - have a great weekend with the family - keep the CH on you are so right it has got decidedly colder this last couple of days
SHAZ- no time at all and you will be ensitue in the new flat....you can then relax and carry on with the new chapter of your life - leave the bad bits at the old house first tho'

Sorry but I hope someone will be able to tell me. Am I allowed to take knitting needles into an aeroplane or are they considered to be dangerous weapon?
