  • Evening all not been around much this week as have had a few health problems but had a quick look back and nice to see all that has been done.

Chalky could you add me to the list please

Did manage to get to town this week and get some more wool so have started a sand blanket. Mostly this week though have been doing the odd IS hats as have not had the concentration to do much else.

I did see my SIL who does lovely knitting. She was wanting to learn to crochet so I sat and helped her. While we were doing that she reminded me that it was me who taught her to knit. That felt good as she has been knitting bears for a charity that MIL is supporting. The next day she sent me a text telling there is a big bag of wool waiting for me the next time I visit. Can't wait to see what I will be able to do with it all.:)

Had a day off from treatment on Wednesday the radiotherapy room was closed for 2 days as it was being serviced, but OH was booked into another room for 7:20 pm on Thursday.
Back to normal today though 11:15 am, but OH didn't feel too good afterwards was very tired so I packed him off to the sofa for a snooze when we got back. He seems ok now :)

I finally picked up a UFO last night, it's the UGG type boots I started ages ago before my wrist started playing up, but the smaller needles make it start aching again  will have to do a bit here and there. I think I'll have another go at the ripple I started aaages ago.

    Must go make a :coffee:

    Me again !

Well, the fishing is on, so I`ll be off earlyish tomorrow. Wool and needles is in the bag already along with a magazine and the crochet will join them in the morning. If I get fed up doing one thing, I`ll swap for a while and do something else. Aparently there is a kitchen with oven, microwave, tea and coffee makings and a loo so all the essentials are there.

It`s a couple of miles along the road from a village I used to live in, so I`ll maybe pop along there for a wee wander if it`s not raining ( it is forecast) and there`s a craft type shop there now so will have to investigate that as well. Better than doing the h*******k eh?

Off to do a bit more crochet before an early night.

Hope people are enjoying the sunshine! Had a lovely day today; friends kids came to meet the kitten and were very good about being slow and quiet so as not to scare her! Then a bit of shopping - I got a juicer as need to be healthier to feel better I think...had a yummy carrot apple and ginger today so managed my five a day in one foul swoop! Them massage to get rid of knots, small food shop and home! Now chilling...oo also got two knitting pattern books but no wool :)
Hope people are ok :) big hugs those that need them...hope you enjoyed fishing psso!!

Good Morning, I am gatecrashing your thread !! I have been routing through my knitting bits and pieces and was wondering what to do. i just want to do something very simple to occupy my mind when it starts to stress about things. Could I do some squares? how many stitches, what wool and needles? or could I do a scarf for my shoebox. What do you kind people suggest. Wanted to get something organised before the roller coaster of monday to friday starts again. Look forward to your suggestions. Thanks xxx

hi cazarole, and welcome to the thread, we are a friendly bunch and am sure you'll love it here.
squares need to be six inch square in double knit. not sure how many stitches as everyone tension is different, its a case of trial and error
scarfs for shoe boxes is a lovely idea, i'm currently working on a scarf, but only a few rows at a time, as i have my arm in plaster right now

Goodness me, knitting with your arm in plaster !! thats dedication. For the squares how many stitches do you think I should start off with trying for the right side square. Thanks
