Seakay -- I can only agree that is brilliant advice-- I am sure lots of us could benefit from that!
Anakat -- Thanks for the help with the knitted squares -- my friend knits them like that all the time. To be honest the most important thing is that they are 6" square, as the sewing and compilation gets really tricky if they vary too much!
The Granny squares I find are about 7 rounds but I have a fairly tight tension and this, in itself makes such a difference. I think it is just a case of measure, measure and then adapt!
Full time Mum -- Hope this helps!
Shaz -- keep strong!
I really feel that so many of our merry band have their hands overflowing at the moment that I just want to send the gentlest thoughts to each and everyone of you
DD1's partner is still in a lot of pain and I think he may have actually done some serious damage to his tendons around his knee!! A real problem as he is a self employed carpenter! But we shall see. They have gone home now, but these active workaholics do not take too well to the constraints crutches and a brace involve. Buster is so cofused by it all but DD1 an I had the most gorgeous riverside walk this afternoon whilst the men watched the athletics!
I am still working through a long list of WIP'S and seem to be getting nowhere fast but hey ho at least the jet lag has gone xTry and do a good deed every day.0 -
no update this week ive knittted another angel bear but it needs sewing up
hugs to all
sk hope things start improving soon, the boys especially josh need to realise they cant treat you like a cash point with no feelings, stand up a few times and it will hopefully be the wake up call he needs to make him realise he needs you
chalky sorry to hear DD1s partners leg is causing so much pain i hope the damage isnt as bad as you fear.
knitting a hangbag for my niece its coming along quite well, lot of bright colours (cerise, plum, terracotta and olive stripes) its simple basic panels that will just need sewing together at the end, it says to put cardboard panels in the sides and bottom before making a fabric liner for it but trying to think of some kind of plastic or laminated lining to stiffen it incase she gets it wet. any ideas please?SPC~12 ot 124

Hi
Got back from a short holiday yesterday :-) Had a great time, though didn't get much knitting done :-( Never mind. I think today will be pretty sparse on the knitting front as well because I have a busy one :-)
Have a blessed and prosperous day. Hugs to all in need ((((Hugs)))) Love you all.

fantastic thanks. it says to cut fabric lining to size of made then glue that to cardborad and slip stictch in at the top to secure but if i use that i can cut 3 panels for the front back and bottom sew them together along the joins and then tack them in along the top edges before i put the fabric lining in. thank you i knew someone would know what to do.
tootifruiti thank you for your suggestion as well i would hve gone with thank if it was just waterproofing i needed but i needed the rigidity as well.

Hi all, day off today and tomorrow so catching up with all the boring things today, housework, shopping, washing, so I can do interesting things with wool and hook/needles later and tomorrow.
seakay, I wonder if you have the same internet provider as me, I`m still having mega problems with my broadband connection  very annoying isn`t it.
mrs moneypenny - isn`t it great when someone can point you in the right direction - you know what you want but just can`t think what to use then Bingo ! someone pops up with the answer. Hope it works for you.
Socky - same for you, sometimes we can`t see the obvious answer and need someone else to point out the possibilities, answerphones are great for giving you time to get your thoughts in order and giving you time to take deep breaths and calm down before replying.
Hope your wrist is a bit better.
tootifrooti - some hottie covers here. Easy or more difficult.

and a crochet oldie here. It`s like one in a verrry old crochet pattern booklet I have but it has a crochet tie instead of a ribbon.

Jean - hope you are enjoying your time with the monsters but not overdoing it.

A few ideas off the top of my head to bounce around...
I seem to remember that there was a project a couple of years ago in the Gardeners World Magazine for outdoor cushion covers. I'm sure that they washed or sprayed something on the fabric to make it waterproof. I don't know whether it would stiffen it up at all though.
I can't get at the magazines for the moment as we are decorating and the cupboard they are in is inaccessible but it might be worth a google.
My grandmother made me a makeup bag many moons ago and it has a piece of card covered in sticky backed plastic in it's base.
What about fabric for making waterproof trousers etc?7 Angel Bears for LovingHands Autumn Challenge. 10 KYSTGYSES. 3 and 3/4 (ran out of wool) small blanket/large square, 2 premie blankets, 2 Angel Claire Bodywarmers0
