    Hello lovely people!!!

Thanks for all the good wishes
I had a good week - not as restful as I thought it might be - very interesting and thought provoking - very different from the other retreat I go on - it was in a part of the country I didnt know and we were very lucky to have dry weather every day and even a fair bit of sunshine so I saw the area looking its best!! I ate too much, tried my hand at watercolour painting and forgot to pack my knitting!:rotfl: will get back into it next week - have some admin stuff to do for the church first.

welcome to the new people - I havent been here very long but these ladies are so friendly that I feel like I have known them for ages and ages and ages:)
sock-knitter how is your wrist - sorry to see you had to have an op- - I forgot about your girls - are they settling in and getting to know you? - I hope Josh has recovered and they are both treating you a bit better - stay strong angel - you know in your heart you are doing the right thing even if it is the hardest (((HUGS))) and strength by the bucketful. While you cant knit you could sort through your patterns if they need it - look through websites for new patterns and make a list of new projects that you would like to tackle and what you will need ?????? I am also sending a HUGE (((hug))) for your Mum & Dad for taking such good care of you when its not so easy for them either. Well done on your son's exam results - an A in Art is very good.
and Pippa good to see your wrist is improving and Dh is on the mend after his dental work - hope the treatment goes ahead quickly (((hugs))) and strengtyh for what lies ahead
psso well done with the job - is it going ok?
May just seen that the funeral was today - I hope it wasnt too traumatic for you all - love and strength and loads of (((hugs)))

full-time-mum - trifles was looking for patterns up to 49 chest, have a look at page 217 post 4335 you will see what she is looking for :)

I've had a quick scan through and the largest pattern I could find was a man's sweater for 46in chest. Sorry I couldn't help. :-(

Still, it was a trip down memory lane - if anyone ever wants period knits, I could be your girl!

Hi everyone - regulars and lurkers too.

This week has flown by but I have time to catch up today. New job seems to be going OK. Boss lady was doing the rota for September and asked if I would be staying on, she`s happy with me so we`ll see how it goes. My poor old feet and ankles object a bit when I`ve been on them all day so it`s nice to treat them to a foot soak in the evening. Ahhhhh bliss.

Maytaurus - been thinking about you a lot recently, hope the funeral wasn`t too bad for you all.

Chalky - good to see you back this side of the Pond. Hope you`re recovering from the jetlag.

Kathy - I hope that thunder and lightning is staying away now. Don`t need any more of the leccy type problems do you.

Socky - hope your wrist is a bit easier now. You`ll find that you will be able to do some little things once you get used to the cast and the pain eases a bit. I`m sooo glad I was only out of action wooly wise for ten days after my stent procedure caused the pains in my arm, I was going round the bend with boredom so can understand how frustrated you are feeling. Good to hear the boys did well in their exams, hopefully they will settle down to independent living soon.

anakat - nice collection of hats there. I`ve done about a dozen I think, maybe a few more, must dig them out of the basket.

Well, DD has found the charger for her camera so I`ll maybe get some pics of the things I`ve been doing lately to show you. Feel a bit of an addiction coming on :)

Kettle`s boiling so I`ll go and make a cuppa and then pop over to LH and see what`s been happening in my absence.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

:mad::mad::mad:kids:mad::mad::mad: they are totally stressing me out

had a lovely day in skipton yesterday with a couple of friends, had lovely cream scones with our coffee when we arrived there, did lots of retail therapy, and had a meal in a lovely cafe, where one of my friends had to cut my meat up, followed by a lovely fresh cream trifle for desert, not a very healthy day, but was a lovely treat.
came home all happy and relaxed and then josh rang demanding money and threatening me etc, ended up in bed crying
and to top it off this morning daniel rings to tell me the friend he was staying at last night, was broken into, and they took daniels wallet containin his bank card, weekly bus pass, and also his mobile phone. obviously not daniels fault that the friend was broken into, but danny rang me demanding that i get myself into town and buy him a new phone right now.
    ok deep breathe lol
isom, hope the migraine goes soon, and that your mums pain improves after the trip to the dentist
chalky looks like you've been busy, love the bright pictues on the burp bibs
psso great to hear the job is going well, and that they are keeping you on

Hi everyone - just a quickie from me for now.

I've still not managed to do the update but will try very hard to get it done over the next 24 hours! I don't know why I am leading a manic life lately, but I get interruption after interruption (some of them lovely, like three Skypes from DS2 this week because little Megan keeps reaching milestones - turning over, sitting up, giggling like mad when her big sister, Summer, blows raspberries at her! - DS2 wants to share every moment with us, and I am so glad we have Skype!). I hope we can start planning our trip back now. We have everything in place and just need to save up enough pennies!

It's a lovely day today, so I have washing on the line and I'm trying to do the baking that I should have done yesterday - friends called round, which was lovely, of course, but another set of plans went out of the window!

I have not done any woolly stuff for days now; we don't sit down until at least 9pm and by then I am too tired to do anything! I shall try and rectify that this week!

I hope those who have had worrying times lately are managing to enjoy the bank holiday weekend.

    Maytaurus -thinking of you.

Well, I'll try and catch up with you all later.
