harduphester i recon there is a chalky somehwre who would love some for her hedgie obesssion!! thats v kind of you!
Socky I really hope you managed to say no to the demand and were able to remind him that you are not prepared to be spoken to like that and maybe he would like to ring when he can show basic respect? Know its hard and horrible when youre spoken to like that but stand your ground or he'll just keep doing it...
Miol skype is fab for that isnt it eh!
Just back from dentist with mum minus one very infected and unhappy back tooth - she feels better and I feel quite ill...someone screamed while they were in and I seriously felt quite ill...blood went to my toes! Am happy (if not fascinated!) with bodies but teeth...eugh!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -
I have been thinking about these letters KYSTGYSES - Which in my beautifully bonkers way stands for KNIT YOUR SQUARE TO GIVE YOUR SHARE EMERGENCY STASH. I was wondering if it could be a way of getting us all on board again as I know lots read the thread but don't post and I for 1 miss you.
So it could go like this. We often seem to have appeals for 6 " squares for a wonderful range of causes. What if as many of us who want to be involved just made a few squares and then tucked them away. Then if any one of us finds an appeal we could alert all the people who have a stash and they could all be sent giving an instant response. It would also be a wonderful resource for any of us who might need a blanket when things get really hard. A awy of sending our love in a very positive way.
It would be lovely to see all our friends joining in with a pledge to stash a few squares and everyone would be free to post about an appeal they know.
I will wait and see what you rthink of my latest totally bonkers idea
:TI think this sounds like a lovely and practical idea. I've only just started on my charity knitting journey but would be happy to knit a few emergency squares.
Perhaps you could add some guidelines to post #3389 so those of us who haven't a clue yet know roughly how many stitches/rows/needle sizes/wool type to get a 6 inch square. I also wonder if you could get special dispensation from Martin to add a thread link to your post as it took me a while to find Post #3389.
Would you be allowed to add an "official" poll at the top of this thread? No idea how you would go about this though!
7 Angel Bears for LovingHands Autumn Challenge. 10 KYSTGYSES. 3 and 3/4 (ran out of wool) small blanket/large square, 2 premie blankets, 2 Angel Claire Bodywarmers0 -
Well DD1's partner has dislocated his knee cap and as he is a self employed carpenter that is a bit of a disaster!!
So we have house guests in need of some spoiling tonight and of course where they are -- Bustet comes too!
He wishes he had gone on holiday to New York but at least he looks cool in the cap!!
ISOM -- There must be a song title "You know me so well!!!!!"
full-time - Mum -- Thank you so much for your positive response to KYSTGYSES -- or now what is affectionately known as Kiss the Geezers Squares. We have made 4 blankets so far (2 waiting to be sent as I type) and it really does seem a really positive idea.
Do you mind if I answer your questions-- If I can when I am fresh tomorrow. It has all been a bit hectic here with long hours at A&E -But thank you again for such a positive post.
If anyone else knows the answers please shout!!!Try and do a good deed every day.0 -

Don't know if this will help, I knit my squares corner to corner.
DK yarn size 4mm/uk8 needles
Cast on 3sts, increase 1st at begining of every row until a side measures 6inches.
Then decrease 1st at the begining of every row till 3sts remain K3tog.
This should give you a 6inch square0 -

There has been an emotional appeal on the radio, a lady called Teresa left her camera at Godrevey Head in Cornwall which contained photos of her baby, born sleeping in May. They were releasing pink balloons to send to her in heaven when the camera was lost. If you know anyone who has found a Fuji camera please contact Pirate FM: 01209 313900. TY!please pass this on!........All your help is much appreciated...

Just popping in as have no Internet - possibly until next Monday (don't ask, I am exhausted!) but had to pop in from public computer to say to Socky - please get caller ID and an answerphone.
If either son rings let it go to answerphone then listen to the recording. Whatever it is will be just as upsetting but you will not need to answer live (so to speak) nor will you have to make decisions without having time to think. You can listen to the message at once of course - I'm not suggesting that you would want to just ignore your children, but I am suggesting that just having that little gap between getting the message and having to respond will give you time to collect yourself, think about what you really want to do and then respond in your own time with the words already in your head (or even written down - it can make things easier)
So sorry for all the physical and mental trauma that you are getting. I do think that a retreat where you are not contactable and where you have to review your life in a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere might be something that you would gain a lot of strength from.0 -
seakay you have given really good advice there.SPC~12 ot 124
