ISOM sorry if some of my comments about social workers have in any way offended you. i would never hurt anyone in real life, more likely to harm myself in times of desperation. anyway staying positive, seeing new social worker next tues, and she has promised me a core assessment of the family, and a carer's assessment for myself, these have been asked for many times in past, but never materialised. isom, why don't you use the odds and ends of wool to knit innocent smoothie hats?, thats what i do, or use them to make teddies for tragedy.
elaine, hope maytaurus, or her family contact you and let us know how she is getting on, miss her on here, as well as other mia's. its really warm here in west yorkshire, but heavy showers too.
night night all

Well done Shaz -- keep that up feeling going -- this time will pass --- One day you will look back at this horrible time and think that by getting through it you have learnt, grown, developed and become stronger. One day you and your boys will find a passageway of peace and they will always know they have had the most amazing Mum who has supported them. Stood By them. Fought their corner and just loved them when some mums would be throwing them out of their homeTry and do a good deed every day.0

Im not at ALL offended, just a bit concerned about the jokes about guns in case you were thinking of trying it! While some departments may think little of it others wouldnt and would hate for you to have more hassle than you already have
Great to hear that you are getting some support at last though! Well have started new pattern for a shrug for my cousin. The one from the mag was a mare and the wool soo fine (2 ply) that Im going to ask my friend M if she will do it for me and Ill pay her to do it. Shes very good at that sort of thing as seakay will verify!
I too hope we hear from May...in view of previous health issues Im worried...
Hugs those that need them, esp the mia's, people moving, travelling etc...:) F1 havent heard from you in a while, or only girl,....
PS wool bits are now bagged! BTW birds love those wee ends of wool for their nests...love the idea that they are wrapped in our oddments!!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -
Good morning everyone,
Didn't get on here yesterday and have just caught up. What a wonderful lot you are. Glad your feeling a little better Shaz, and hopefully on the way to getting some help at last. Seakay and Purple Teddy Bear what interesting and informative information, this is such a good forum.
psso and mioliere here's hoping you get a reply from maytaurus soon.
mrs moneypenny so sorry to hear your sad news, and you've had more than your share lately ((hugs))
mioliere that's a clever cat you've got there.
ISOM here's hoping this shrug goes a bit easier. What sort of brainstorm made you get 2ply wool?:)
Love to everyone xxx0 -
Hi
Hugs for Shaz and Mrs M. ((((hugs))))
Off to sort my grey bits out in a minute. Just looked at the colour on the box and have a sneaky feeling it's a bit darker than what I want, but never mind, will probably fade in a couple of weeks, and I desparately need to de-grey myself, so it's a question of anything will surfice lol.
I've had quiet knitting needles the last couple of days. Not a lot of clicking going on. Got a bit involved with my family tree (sigh) Love doing it, but it is very time consuming lol.
I've now finished my pregnancy crisis advisor course. Had my induction day in the office last week. Looking forward to meeting some women and helping them as much as possible :-) Once I've advised one lady, I can apply for the next course, which will train me to councel ladies who have suffered child loss. Really want to do that.
Ok. Off to the bathroom while all is quiet :-) Must try to keep the dye on my head this time, and not try to change the floor colour lol.
Have a blessed and prosperous day. Hugs to all who need them ((((hugs)))) Love you all.

good morning all, hope everyone is as well as they can be. knowing i have such good friends here, is helping me stay positive, this is the best thread on the whole forum, but we already knew that anyway
salome, good luck with keeping the dye on your head and not dripping on the floor or anywhere else. i used to dye my own hair a lot, and it can be very messy. nowadays i have a lot of blonde hi hights, so the greys blend in lol
off to sort some parcels out for shelly and lou today, otherwise i fear i may not get round to it with the kids at home
hugs all

Afternoon all.
Glad you are feeling more positive and have the hope of some real help next week, sock-knitter.
If no one else wants the wool oddments I'd be glad of them ready for Innocent Smoothie hats, ISOM.
Have finally got the hang of crochet trebles and have stopped pulling everything too tight (thanks for tip ISOM) so feel that crochet learning is progressing well!
Good luck with dye, Salome. Last time I did my own I managed to dye the showerhead and the sink and yet it didn't stick to my hair very well! Hope that you do better!0 -
Laid up in bed with the Shingles again (wish it was the Pringles), on the laptop and having just checked out CHALKY's blog here is a link for a bag I made three - everyone got one for the beach and they are just perfect, just change the top bit to make it longer and tie together.

PippaS glad you managed to save the caravan from blowing away. Hope the Mums are both doing well?
Glicky - lovely to see new folk joining in - hope you find lots of inspiration to keep you busy
POL/CHALKY and EVERYBODY ELSE who posted photo's onto wooligans - YEP managed to catch up with them too ALL LOVELY
PTB/SEEKAY/ISOM - you have all helped SOCK KNITTER in some way, as well as all the other input
SOCK KNITTER good luck for Tuesday's review - fingers crossed it all goes well
Mrs Moneypenny, you seem to be the glue holding the family together, please try and get a "bit" of you time, it can't be easy in your current situation, but its extremely important.
Shaz - hope youre mum is OK.
Re - MAYTAURUS, I have phoned - it rings on and on, I have texted - no reply, I have e mailed every addy I have for her and still nowt, today like Elaine I sent a snail mail to her...I am hopeing that she is on holiday somewhere, if I hear anything at all I will let you all know.
If I have missed anyone, I apologise, but send you all loads of love and cuddles BUT no shingles!
Right off to see if I can actually walk downstairs and get something to eat. DH is a love BUT the Tour de France is on the Telly all day and he does JUST sit and watch it! Tea is a calling me. Will pop back as and when.

Hi everyone - sorry I've not been around much today. I've been helping DH with plasterboarding, made slightly easier now because he bought a special pole thing that holds the plasterboard in place on the ceiling while he screws it in place. My job is to jack the pole up and down as needed - much easier than holding it above my head and getting pains in my arms and neck! I expect the pole thing has a proper name but I have no idea what!
Jean - how lovely to have you back. I hope the shingles are on their way out now. We've really missed you. I love the bag pattern - I think my Mum is going to be giving me her old sewing machine now that she has bought a new one, and I have loads of fabrics, so I might give that one a go. Let's hope we hear from Maytaurus soon - it's such a worry because it's been so long since she posted.
I must confess that I don't understand the attraction of the Tour de France, much as I love cycling! Sounds like you'll be glad when it's all over!
My jewellery-making kit came today and I'm really pleased with it. I hope to make lots of things for Christmas pressies this year but, although I'm dying to have a go with it all right now, I will wait until DS1 and his family have been and gone.
Shaz - I hope things are a bit easier for you. I think about you a lot.
Salome - you sound the perfect person to be doing such sensitive counselling; I'm sure you will make a real difference to people. Good luck with it all.
Well, sausage casserole in the oven so I hope we can have an early dinner so that I can sit down and finish off Summer's birthday presents. Tomorrow, I've been informed, will be spent plasterboarding until it's all done! It's a bind but it must be done so that the plastering can be finished before Tuesday, otherwise our visitors will be roped into helping with it before they can go to bed!
Have a great evening, everyone.

jean, lovely to see you again, sorry to hear about the shingles, one of my ds's had it earlier this year, hope it goes away soon, get plenty of rest
kathy, if it were me i'd have to open it and start right away, you must have plenty of self control. today been stuffing and sewing bears, all done now, so after tea, (home made shepherds pie) i can get on with my knitting.
still have my positive head on, but it does wander off sometimes, especially when josh is shouting at me, and being aggressive, thankfully daniel has been nice and calm since he came home which really does help. hoping that by rewarding daniel for his good behaviour and giving him an extra treat will show josh that being good can have its rewards. hope it dosent backfire and make josh worse.
love all
