Shaz - I've opened it! And I've found a box with compartments to put it all in so it looks very tempting! It's just that, right now, we have such a lot to do to get the house ready for our visitors next week! It will give me something to look forward to once they have gone, because I know I'll be feeling sad.

socky it was the gorgeous pattern that made me want it!! Plus the fact that mum, not I was going to do it! I have a friend who is v good and patient at that sort of thing so will ask her if she will do it. We do a skills swap - I take her places and she knits me lovely things that I couldnt possibly manage so we both are happy! While this one is hard for me she will run it off in no time!!

Oh Jean I send a very gentle hug to you I had the chickenpox at 34 ---- so ill and then have had the shingles 3 times since. Always right up over my right side of my face and over my head. So horrible so you have my sympathy. My doctor recommended a dose of Vitamin B tablets after the last attack as it helps with nerve damage. Thank you so much for reading my blog-- Glad you loved the photos we loved Brittany. But also thank you for that link to that bag ABSOLUTELY PERFECT Yippee!!
Well I have been at the sewing machine all day making sleeping bag liners for DD2 and her friend who are off travelling soon.
Will post some piccies soon.
Still rippling when I am not on here!!!!
Love to all xxTry and do a good deed every day.0 -

Well I feel better today, so hope to get some craft work done today. Still look like a monster but hey at least I live that far out in the country the only thing I can scare are the cows!
Hope you all have a great day, sun filled, doing only things you like to do

Gosh thats a first for me last on yesterday and first on this morning --- I must review my addictive tendencies
Just a quick one as we are off to Barnstaple to see DS and DDIL. Chocolate cake and big lasagne packed and of course some hooky stuff .Charlotte always likes us to have a project when we are together and this weekend its crochet slippers--- Lets hope its not all single crochet
Right I must get on and pack some clothes.
So I send love and gentle thoughts to all --- IU think its about time we had something to celebrate on this thread.. I am sure Don said about a new baby not long ago?Try and do a good deed every day.0 -
ouch poor you jean, i hope it eases quickly and doesnt leave any lasting health problems.
a bit upset now to say the least i posted a parcel to lou last saturday (EVERYTHING for the last challenge all my pillowcase dresses sands blankets zimmer bags etc) it was supposed to be delivered yesterday and it hasnt turned up:mad:. i dont know what courier was used it was just a sign in the window saying they deliver to anywhere in the uk for £7.99. i didnt get a reciept or anything he said hed ring me with a tracking number but i never got a call. Im praying it turns up but ive got to go into that town on saturday so ive asked lou to text me if it does arriv if not ill be chasing it tomorrow.
Going off now as ive got to pop round and check on the inlaws then tackle the ironing mountain but my sister and mum are round later this morning. got a lovely call yesterday saying because they couldnt make it round last weekend for my birthday they are coming today (good excuse to stop ironing and buy a cream cake if ever there was one.
i hope everyone has a good weekend

Chalky - have a great weekend; hope the crochet slippers are anything but single crochet!
Jean - I'm so pleased that you are up and about and I don't believe you look like a monster!
Mrs Moneypenny - what a worry about the parcel. I hope it turns up. It's bad enough that it cost £7.99 but to think of all that dedicated work you did on the contents going astray is really horrid.
Well, I'm waiting for the call upstairs to help with the plasterboarding! He's setting up at the moment, then I know he'll want a cuppa before we start, so I should have another half hour or so before the work starts.
It started off really sunny this morning so I put the garden cushions out and put the parasol up, and now it's clouded over. Still, it'll be cooler in the attic.
I'm trying to plan my projects for the winter and Christmas (besides all the jewellery I hope to get made with my new kit), so I'm working out a list of all the wool I'll need to buy when we're back in the UK in September. It's going to be an expensive shop in my favourite wool shop, but still far cheaper than buying it here, and with far more choice. Luckily, the haberdashery here (sorry, Jean, I know there isn't one in your part of France), sells just about everything else. I bought some French nets there to go in the utility room window which looks out over the seating area in the garden. I had already picked out the one I wanted but it wasn't priced, so I asked, and nearly passed out when she said €30+ per metre! Way too expensive however gorgeous it was, so I opted for one that was €5.60 instead - luckily, I like it, and it's made the area look more 'French', IYKWIM! Then, I just had to buy two cute lavender plants to sit on the sill either side of the window. I love how it looks now and will take a photo just as soon as we've painted the window frames - which we can't do until DS1 has been and gone, because he's bringing us the paint!
Anyway, I'd better see if the worker wants his cuppa now.
Hope you all have a great day and, May, if you're reading but unable to post, we miss you and hope life is not being too challenging for you.
