Hi everyone, just a quickie to catch up. Not much happening here at the moment. DD got her appointments in for her wrist scans. Two different days as apparently they can`t do them on the same day. More hanging around at the hospital I suppose. No word yet about DS`s op though.I crocheted on the way there but just couldn't get my head to work properly on the way back!

Hmmmm, wonder why that was ????Glad to hear you had a good time.
Chalky - just been on Wooligans admiring your handiwork. Great stuff. I get the collywobbles even thinking about going up high, so I`d definitely pass on the skydiving type of things. Standing on a chair to change a light bulb is adventurous enough for me.
Kinsey - saw your wrist warmers as well - I`ve been looking for that owl pattern for ages as someone (you??) sent me a pair for LH sale last year. Is there a link for the pattern please ?
Shez - sorry about your cat. It`s hard doing what`s best for them isn`t it. Hope all goes well with your mum`s treatment.
Pippa - shame you had to go all the way down to Devon in that horrible weather. Pity your friend couldn`t have taken down your awning and shoved it in a cupboard till you were down next time.
sock knitter - oooh it`s bad when the anti d`s don`t seem to be helping anymore. Know how it feels. ((hugs))
Off to stir the spag bol sauce before it burns on to the bottom of the pan.
See you later.

not getting any further with meetigns re sons, but they still lowering josh's meds, and he is becoming more aggressive and violent as each day passes, dont think i can cope much longer. been to see my mental health nurse this morning, and as i'm already on max dose of anti depressants there not much more she can prescribe. but she has made some phone calls on my behalf, just waiting to see what the outcome of those will be.
maytaurus, havent seen you post for ages, (((HUGS))), hope you ok

Unfortunately no one will do anything to protect you or any other member of your family form your son's violence. He is the patient. However, if they thought that he was at risk...how are your acting skills?
Could you tell some one (possibly on the phone) that you feared that you would soon retaliate or even hit him first.
Lack of sleep and stress means that you find yourself lying awake considering what you would do if he seriously assaulted his brother (sorry, brain dead, does Josh have a brother?) and wondering how much it would cost to have someone hurt Josh just enough to get him into hospital.
They'd have to believe that you were serious, however preposterous what you are saying is.
I once had to tell a psychiatrist that I'd found a friend of a friend who was willing to shoot my brother as a favour to me if he ever hit my Mother again. It was absolutely hideous and at a family meeting with everyone in tears (obviously I couldn't warn them) but within a week they had found my brother a suitable placement (which previously hadn't existed) instead of kicking him home straight from a psych ward.
A friend of mine both of whose parents were psychiatrists explained that you can talk about the problems your son is causing you, your family, your neighbours etc etc as much as you like, nothing will happen. If they think there is any possibility of him being at risk then they'll act pronto.0 -
yahoo! Its finished (at last!). Will update piccy before I give it away - promise!
sock knitter sorry things are so tough...hope you find a solution soon.
Miol hope you feel better after hangover! Sounds like you had a lovely time!

seakay, i've told the so called proffesionals that my other son, daniel is at risk from joshua's violence, they say it is my job to protect him, or sometimes they say cos they twins, that daniel should be able to defend himself, which in reality he can, they both over 6 foot tall, and well built, its me that cant stand up to them pysically
told social sevices that i've hit joshua, i'm ashamed to say this is true, when i was at the end of my tether. social services just said cos they 15, they wouldnt do anything about it, and put it down as me acting in self defense.
sorry to post on hear, when its supposed to be bout knitting, just dont know where else to go right now
love to all

Shaz - this thread is about US as well as the knitting, so please don't stop posting about the things you are worried about. I know it helps just to get things written down, and if someone here can help, then that's brilliant. I've been wondering if it's worth you getting in touch with your MP? He, or she, might be able to pull some strings and get you listened to properly. Also, have you tried seeing a different doctor in your practice? My sister did this when she found that she was getting nowhere with her usual GP, and things started to change. The other doctor actually took her seriously.
I really hope that someone gives you the help you so desperately need - how they can't take you seriously when you are frightened for your safety is beyond me. And they should be thinking about the future for the boys, too. I really hope things get better for you soon - no-one should have to live like this and not get the proper help they need.

morning kathy, there isnt anything the gp's in the practise can do, as both boys are under a pyschiatrist, so what he says goes as far as mental health is concerned.
my pyschiatric nurse is looking at finding me a psychiatrist that specialises in ADHD and autistic spectrum disorders for the boys, even if it means paying privately, there is one based in london, but thats too far for me to travel, as i'm in yorkshire, it will mean paying privately, but i've reached the end of my tether now, and will pay anything to get the right help.
the boys ae causing my mental health to suffer, i live in fear for my safety most of the time. luckily tonight both boys are stayign over at danny's school, so i'll get a break, which will be lovely. it will be the last break i'll havebefore teh boys break up, so i'm gonna spend it wisely, that means getting comfy on the sofa, and my knitting
oops turned into a long post

Shaz - have a lovely evening - you certainly deserve it. What a shame it can't be a regular thing for you. I do hope the psychiatric nurse can find the right help. Don't forget, we're all here for you.

Hi
Shaz hugs for you. Is there anyone near you that can give you support, like a support group ??? You need people you can talk to who will just listen an understand, as well as the professionals who can give you the answers. Would your surgery have anyone they could recommend ????
Iactually did a bit of needle clicking yesterday, which was lovely :-) It's all going very slowly at the moment though lol. I seem to be here there and everywhere at the moment lol.
Summer hols start next week. Can't wait lol. I'm the opposite to most mums, as a homeschooling mum, I look forward to the hols as much as the children lol.
Have a blessed and proserous day. Hugs to all who need them ((((hugs)))) Love you all.

Shaz, so sorry about all this.
Social services not your best bet re threat of violence when it comes to help with teenage boys. Psychiatrist who believes there is a possibility of serious harm a more likely source of action. Hideous to get involved in these charades on top of everything else, I agree.
Tell psychiatrist social services have told you to protect Daniel from Joshua, but that you are physically incapable of doing so and so far you have been unable to obtain a gun license. Do they have any ideas as to how you might be able to hurry along the process? You know that you haven't had any training but you're sure that as Joshua is so big there won't be any problem with missing him. You wouldn't bother them only you don't know anyone who can get you a gun illegally. You know it sounds dramatic but as Daniel's and your life is under threat and social services have washed their hands of the situation even though your sons are under 16 you have no choice.
I know, it's all insane. I just wish that the whole situation were more surprising.
