Sorry to hear about your cat Shez, what a horrid year for you. Good luck with your Mum's treatment, she's a very brave lady.
mioliere, so you think you're going to have time to take up a new hobby? It does sound interesting though.
Chalky hope your DMIL likes her chair, they are so expensive.0 -
Kinsey - I must admit I hadn't given much thought about the extra time I will need, but I'm thinking about when the evenings draw in again (sorry to remind everyone that winter is, indeed, the inevitable consequence of summer!), and I've been assured that the work on the house will be coming to an end at some point this year - definitely maybe! I really enjoyed making so many Christmas presents last year (both the pleasure of knitting and crocheting, and the money-saving aspect!) so I want to make as many as I can this year, too.

Kinsey Yes, those chairs are so expensive. I was really pleased she actually treated herself instead of worrying about leaving enough money for everybody else. I am sure it will be a great help

Hi Chalky - he's very brave isn't he? Rather him than me! Wish him luck! My sister has done it more than once but that bravery doesn't extend to me!
I've completely lost my Yahoo account so I can't access the Wooligans unless I join it with another Yahoo account - if I do that, it won't have an owner so nobody else will ever be able to ask to join! I've had real problems since France Telecom's fiasco last weekend. I've emailed Yahoo support but not heard back from them yet (even thought they say they reply within 24 hours), so I've asked for advice on the techie board on here! If anybody on here has any advice on how to get it back, I'd be really grateful!
Well, it's baking hot here already but I've bravely battled with the ironing, so I'm feeling very saintly! I've also helped DH with the insulation in the bedroom he's working on, so I think I deserve a sit down this afternoon. I'll sort out the crochet I'll be taking for the drive to our friends' house later. I'll probably just take the cushion back I'm making rather than something that I have to keep referring to the pattern for.
Anyway, hope everyone is having a good day.

Evening all
Had a few bloomin awful days one way and another!!!
Got up Friday and decided to emulsion the bedroom, things were going great until the phone rang at 1 o"clock .....
It was Julie from the site in Devon where our caravan is, telling me the wind was sooo bad down there some of the awnings were taking off  not our's but she advised us to go and take it down.
So then it was a mad dash to finish off and get on the road.I threw a few things in a bag,not much just for 1 night.
We had'nt had lunch so I did a few sarnies, and a drink for on the way.
Had an awful journey down, the traffic was manic and the weather was rain, sun, torrential rain, sun and so it went on all the way down, it was so bad at one stage we could hardly see.
Luckily it was'nt too bad in Devon the wind had dried the awning so down it came, we cleaned it all off, packed it back in the bag and stowed it under the bed.
By this time it was almost 8 so we went off to the Willows for a carvery.
Came back Saturday and it was sunshine all the way:) and the traffic was'nt too bad for a Saturday either....and.....I knitted almost a whole scarf
Been to the 2 Mums today. MIL is still unwell she is 89 now and say's she's fed up with everything, the pacemaker does'nt seem to have made much difference to her. I left her talking to OH and got on with doing the washing and sorting out lunch.
My MUM is still waiting for her other Endoscopy, I was told last week if she has heard nothing by this Thursday to ring again. So she is still living on Porridge,Cup a Soup, and Complan.
Better go OH wants FOOD and I want SLEEP :rotfl:
Enjoy your evening ladies, think I might try a little glass (or 2) of vino
Luv to all (((hugs))) for all the poorlys and those with poorly rellies or those going through tough times at the moment

Well DOH landed safely and I was so pleased to get him back to earth. Enough antics methinks!
Pippa Sorry about mad dash past us. There was a perfectly good tree in the grounds of Forde House at Penn Inn completely split in 3 on Friday so the wind certainly would have taken the awning. Sorry you have got your hands so full with the Mums at present!
Kathy Hope you get the wooligans sorted soon
Isom-- Try not to worry about work too much -- easier said than done I am sure!
Well its early night for us after a good cuppa!Try and do a good deed every day.0 -
Morning everyone
Newbie to this thread.
I've knitted loads of new born baby bonnets and cardigans and would like to send them to Romania (or somewhere of similar ilk where they need it in the cold weather).
Does anyone have any addresses/places that I could send my knitted garmets to please?0
