Hi everyone
Well, I popped out to get some milk and a couple of bottles of wine for a party we've been invited to on Sunday, and I ended up buying four tops in the sales! Not bad bargains - two were originally €23 each, and the other two were €24.50 each, and they had all been reduced by 75%, so I was a happy bunny. I would have bought some shoes as well, but I'm a size 4 (37 in France) and I couldn't find any my size in the sales! It's been a while since I've done that sort of retail therapy and I must admit I rather enjoyed it!
I've just finished these for Summer, from a pattern I bought on Etsy - I didn't have enough of the grey to make a cardi (it was only an oddment of wool but is a lovely sheeny pewter colour which I really like), so I ended up making a headband to match. Despite being only ten months old, she's quite good at keeping things on her head, I've been told! Anyway, here's the photo - the pattern was really easy - I shall make her some more for Christmas.
Hope everyone's afternoon is going well.

Hello to one and all.
Hope the sun is out with you all as it is here--- for a change.
Took DMIL to but a new chair. What a lot of money but she is 80 this year and finding mobility increasingly difficult so its-- all singing and tipping, and dancing and reclining. So that should help. There really is no fun in getting older.
I am having a little break from Operation Stitch Up -- But will be back on task soon!!
I have returned to rippling but a wider one this time. I had forgotten how relaxing it is.
Kathy Summers little things are gorgeous! You must be really pleased with how they have turned out.

another thing has gone wrong this year, we had to take the cat to the vets on wednesday for a blood test as he is not been well, we was called in on friday and found out he has CANCER he is 11 years old, we was given the option to have a xray to find out where it is but i told them to leave him alone as i don't want him to go through any more, We have made the decision that he will be put to sleep on this tuesday as we wanted to spend the weekend with him and for the kids to say their goodbyes. So we are not having a good year so far,
My mom is doing good she has gone away for couple of days as she got to have another endoscope done on monday for a biospy so see what is happening and then she starts her chemo at the begining of August. i have passed all of your messages over and she can't believe how much people cares. other the last 3 weeks we have done cakes sale at the kids schools and we have raised £280 for mom to have a make over done with special photos.
right i am going to finish this crochet blanket for my mates baby as she said it will take my mind of things :rotfl:yeah right :rotfl:Knitting for premature babies and babies that are born to soon :T

Hi everyone
Shez - I'm glad your Mum is doing well. Good luck to her when the chemo starts. I'm so sorrry to hear the news about your poor cat. I think you've bravely made the right decisions for him. (((Hugs))) to you all.
Chalky - I'm sure the new chair will make like much easier for your MIL.
Thank you all for your kind comments about the little shoes I made for Summer. I shall make her some for Christmas, too, not that I know how easy the pattern is! I'll make plain ones and add some snowflake embellishments, I think!
Well, I spoke to DS1 and Co last night and they are all looking forward to their visit. DH is working hard getting the big bedroom done, and we have also fixed up a new basketball hoop for them outside. They are bringing over some paint - there's not a lot of choice here, and we can't find any oil-based paint anywhere in France. They are also bringing over some good old PG Tips, proper vinegar and some HP Sauce. We only asked them for a few bits because we will be going back in September and can stock up again then.
Well, I went a bit mad yesterday (thinking about Christmas!) and bought a jewellery-making kit on eBay; not bad, complete with tools, it cost £7.95. I bought loads of beads last year, along with brooch backs and a few other bits and pieces, so I want to use them up - it didn't stop me ordering some more to be delivered with the kit, though! Anyway, I have several people I can make things for for Christmas and I've already bought some lovely handbags (in the sales here) for DILs 1 and 2, so I can make handbag charms for them, along with some other things. I just can't remember if DIL1 has pierced ears or not - her hair is so luxuriously thick and curly that I don't think I've ever seen her ears!! I shall be studying her when she's here at the end of the month! I'm also on the look-out for some 'manly' type charms or something that I can make keyrings with for the boys, too. Hopefully, I'll be able to sort out a few presents that way.
This evening we've been invited to a meal with friends, and we're staying the night, too, which will be great because we can both have a couple or three glasses of Vino Collapsio! They live in a new house that they designed themselves; it's has a proper chateau turret! I'll take some photos and show you. It's about an hour or so's drive from here so I will be taking some hooky stuff for the journey!
Well, I'd better go and put the kettle on again!
Hope you all have a great day.
