    Afternoon all
Sure is quiet on here the last couple of days, I reckon you are all out in the garden or down by the seaside enjoying yourselves

shaz - I have some really old patterns Mum and MIL gave me ages ago mostly in 3ply, not tried that yet but one day maybe. I once did a baby shawl in 2ply, took forever but beautiful when finished all lacy,
jean - 6 already good for you, I had the same problem with some of the squares, changing to 3.5mm seemed to work and some of the DK is thicker than others,so that can throw it out, but with a bit of jiggery-pokery all can be overcome :)
mrs-m - well done on finishing some of your wips fancy having a go at mine :rotfl:
f1 - I hope the person in the burns unit is ok... I would'nt mind the chance to see Eldorado again either, I just got interested in it and they took it off...typical ;)

Had to put the wooly stuff down a few times yesterday, it was so hot and sticky not too pleasant working with it...

    Good evening Everyone!

Pippa - I hope you didnt get in to trouble. You are like me. I come on here for 5 minutes, end up stoping for an hour!

I would just like to tell you that a Lady contacted me yesterday and said she wanted to send me Squares because she had picked up a copy of Knit Today September and saw SIBOL mentioned in there.
I dont know whether you know but there is a special Charity Supplement in there.
On one of the pages they have patterns of Crocheted Squares and they are suggesting that people send them to SIBOL.

Well I was absolutely over the moon as you can imagine, to be recognised in this way is just superb.
So it got me thinking.....I know 'another' Blanket.
If anyone wants to have a go at these Squares please do. When they are finished send them to me and I will assemble a special 'Knit Today' Blanket. I shall take a photo and send it up to them and then of course the Blanket will go with the others to Nursing Homes. I thought this would be a fun thing to do.

If you want to pop over to Flickr and have a look please do.

I also want to tell you about something I am selling. I wont say on here
because it might not be allowed but if you want to pop over to Mrs Twins blog,
details are on there. It's Christmas related.

well i didnt get the bungalow, bit disappointed, but there will be others in future
bought a knitting book to cheer myself up, called knitted bears, and all the bears have little clothes, some knit, some crochet, it was only 2.99 from the works
also i have tommorrow to look forward to. been a long time since i said i was looking forward to weekend lol
am meeting dawn tommorrow, for a look at some wool, and a coffee and possibly cake too or lunch or both lol
pam if your lurking, you are very welcome also, have text you, but i understand how things are, take care of yourself
mrs twins, i'll have a look at knit today when i go to supermarket, they dont sell it in local shops near me, good news about the publicity for sibol
jean well done on getting to number six,in the crochet book
pippa, i havent tried anything thinner than 4ply, but i do have some 3 ply that i was given, and must try using soon, as i have a pattern for hats and booties made with it
    hugs all

Has to be wool, coffee, wool, coffee, lunch and CAKE and coffee....or something like that!!

Looking forward to seeing you again; and it's giving me an excuse for delaying holiday packing!

    dawn xx
    :hello:
  • Shaz and Dawn........YOU GOT IT WRONG.........its CAKE, coffee, CAKE, wool, CAKE, coffee, CAKE, wool......walk around for 10 minutes squishing all the lovely wool then back for more CAKE.................gets my vote for sure.
Sorry the bungalow didn't come off this time, obviously there is a far better one with your name on it Shaz, patience sweetie - good things come to those who wait!
OK skipped from number six.....cos well I would be forever working through things that I didn't really want to do and down loaded the 6" heart bobble crochet square....which is what got me interested in the very first instance............Oh and I had a problem last evening...........seems I do slipped stitch instead of double crochet when my braincell goes into neutral...........well quell surprise, sorted that this morning I am still crocheting with my stitch instructions on my lap - can't go wrong then now can I? Will try ringing Kathy tomorrow and see if she has a telephone working.....there have been quite a few strikes and spikes around in France over this last week but with luck they will all be fixed by the weekend. Back later my lovelies, have a super weekend ye all.

Evening - hope you all well sounds like we are having a good knitty time

sock-knitter - so sorry to hear about bungalow - hope something comes up soon - and it sounds like you have a lovely day planned for tomorrow - the book you brought isnt the one with a bee and a ladybird in it is it? I recently knitted a ladybird teddy for my neighbour very cute - take care xxx

jean - well done on achieving 6 squares more than i could ever manage I dont ever think me and hooks will get on! - hope you are well xxx

kathy - sounds like you are still not fixed - but we are thinking about you xx (and behaving ourselves promise!)

pippa - sounds like we have same taste in programmes - finished watching main series of Tenko just Reunion episodes to watch now

seakay - we live Towcester (well just on edge anyway in village) - we did live in Towcester but moved here so DS could go to local village school which is much better xx

mrs twins - well done you on getting a mention in mag - that magazine is a bit hard to get hold of here - can get it if I order Tesco on line but none of the newsagents sell it xx

Well Ive been knitting little preemie hats the last few days and then suddenly had the urge to do a knitted gown - went over to LH and chose the "small gown" pattern but me with my "six steps ahead mind" is in a pickle about making up part at end a) it says sew up first four rows for fancy edge (does that mean turn the cast on edge up four rows? and b) cant see how it fastens up? - has anyone else done this one?

Im sure someone was talking about a quick easy gown the other day was it Mrs M? if so what pattern were you using (can I be cheeky and ask for a link?)

Anyway had better get on - what is it about holidays? I just love having him home and the company etc but there are bits and pieces about everywhere and its driving me mad (just one of my OCDs I have to have everything away in a place - whilst DS and DH work and school I sit with lovely clear sides once ive tidied up but when they are home there are "bits" everywhere - watches and wallets and sunglasses and legomen and comics and butter left out and knives left out etc etc do you get what I mean - am I being a bit hysterical? should i go and rest in a quiet room with some knitting?:rotfl:

Love and hugs to everyone - have a lovely weekend - catch up soon xxx
