  • Well this mornings postie delivered me the 200 crochet blocks for blankets, throws and afghans (Jan Eaton) so DS really did send it for me....well done that boy. So now instead of me wondering what sort of mischief I can be getting up to - running around all over the place, I have the pot of crochet hooks and one cone of wool sitting every where I go........will make a start on number one and see if I can work my way through the book........ha ha that should keep me sitting on my backside for years!
Hope you all have a great day, doing whatever you fancy, loves and cuddles for everyone I will pop back a bit later to give you an update on how far I make it through the book.

I am off for a look at Mrs Twins stuff - as a brand new hooker it will no doubt either depress me or inspire me to continue

    Part of the Furniture
Afternoon all :hello: and what a lovely afternoon it is, nice and sunny again, been outside doing garden things and hanging out washing, until it got too hot then I came in and turned lappy on ;)

jean - you will love the Jan Eaton book, mine was a birthday pressie from my sister, and she bought me the the knitted blocks one for Christmas. They are'nt all as difficult as they look and as they are just 6" they are easy to rip back if needs be
shaz - fingers crossed for the bungalow
kathy - what a disaster hope all will be well soon
kinsey - glad the sun finally made an appearance up your way
toots - it is a photo I took of the postcard OXFAM sent to all who took part :) people from all over the world worked on it,we were asked to do 1 square each and they were aiming for 10,000 I wonder how many smaller blankets it broke down into
f1 - did you find out what the fire/explosion was? TENKO's nearly finished what am I going to watch each afternoon now
ISOM - ooo a craft room would be my idea of heaven...
MrsTwins - nice to see you, cant believe how many blankets have been done so far and they are all so different.

I went into SIBOL earlier and had a deko was really enjoying myself until OH said "what happened to the coffee then?" and I realised I had been in the thick of it for 3/4 of an hour :rotfl:

Finished a couple of things off for DGD's school last night then started edging a ripple blanket I made last year, never did get round to finishing it :o

Right time for lunch will try and get back later

evening ladies - another stuffy one - the rain yesterday didnt seem to calm things down

pippa - yes the explosion was from a private house backgarden workshop had some canisters in there - one person airlifted to burns unit in Birmingham - there was a 400m exclusion zone which we just missed with residents going to local pub and village hall - just hope the person is going to be ok - as for Tenko welllllllll Ive been recording it and catching up when im allowed on the TV have a couple more episodes and the Reunions ones then Im done - I could not remember if the reunion episodes show them in London - Marion divorced etc and it being Christmas???? or was that another special they did?

I think now we need a re-run of Elderado(?) I know I know showing my age and everyone says it was awful but I did enjoy the odd episode when I was younger (set in Spain ex-pats etc)

jean - ooooo how lovely new book - how many you done today? - hope you ok xx

psso - how have you been keeping? - hope you well and resting xx

Ive had some goodies delivered yesterday - Jane Greenhow pattern books (2nd hand on Ebay) - and some knit in lace - which Ive had a go at today and its very enjoyable (its a secret at the moment so will unveil when fully finished;))

mrs twins - as always blankets are lovely - well done xxx

kathy - hope you are ok and puter on soon xxx

missed chalky going so hope she has a safe journey and a happy time
mrs twins the blankets as always are stunning:T

busy yesterday so didnt get a chance to put puter on, worked through mending pile and finished a couple of wips (buttons sewn on a gown and a bunting lined)
i sewed all my bunting/flags together ive knitted 20 flags in total so when i hung the line up t take a photo it reached almost to the bottom of the garden. the 'cat blanket' im crocheting is looking reasonable the middle is flourecent green and im doing the outside navy but ive hopefull got enough green left to just edge it once its finished, it was a cushion cover pattern form womans weekly craft mag but ive used a bigger hook and DK instead of 4ply so its coming up bigger, not sure how big yet.

    raining here this morning :(

  • Am on number 6 in the book.....doing OK but my tension is off.....my 6" squares are turning out about 7½" square......at least I am able to follow the pattern which is very encouraging for me.....will continue to play with them.....not skipping any, I really am becoming addicted to the hooking! Its DH's birthday today, so I am off to make him a cake..might even get to help him eat it if I play my cards right. Pouring buckets here and has been all night, so don't expect Kathy to be "sorted" just yet either.
Ya all take care and have a grand day, enjoy yourselves - you deserve it.

morning all, seems quiet in here, hope everyone is well, and just too busy knitting to post.
havent heard from council about the bungalow, so i am guessing the first person it was offered to accepted it. still there will be others, i just have to be patient.
received some very old knitting patterns yesterday from a lady on LH, so may try those out next, along with the preemie patterns that mrs mp sent me, i have so many wip that i really should finish some of them also
    hugs all
