aww socky hang in there; they just need to learn to stand on their own two feet and you need to stand firm; dont let them bully you into giving them money. While they are waiting for bens to be transferred woukd tell them they get x ammt a week and thats it. There may be a bit of time when they dont bother to come see you but thats because theyre spreading their wings - they soon realise that mum is a comfort, shoulder etc and will be back under some silly excuse! What are you doing today?
Im having a quiet day today and starting my quilt. I have been going dizzy which is a sure sign that Ive got a cold coming so confined to barracks! Mum also sniffing away - healthy in the ISOM household!
F1 thanks for the cat blanket! Will add it to the pile and think its almost time for another delivery as a good bin bag full now. Were bursting at the seams here as mum got some of her furniture that she misses in the week...also getting stuck on the M4!! So her task today is tidying her room...hopefully she'll also manage to chuck stuff as is a bery good hoarder!
    As for christmas counters.....!!!
Hope the poorlies are pottering and resting and the sociables are out and about!
    Big hugs!

for all those lovers of ironing - I have a birthday card - black and white photo of someone in the 70's ironing - on it it says - " ironing is my second favourite activity - my first is banging my head on the wall until I pass out!" - i love it so much its on the side in my kitchen! - my sense of humour to a T

Mine, too. I just love that and think I'll have to type it up and frame it for my kitchen!

isom hope you and your mums colds disappear soon

just had another run in with josh on phone again today, demanding money, and informs me he has taken his ps2, ds, portable dvd player, digital camera, camcorder etc to cash converters and got the princely sum of 50 quid, no idea what he is up to, but these things cost me a fortune to buy him, and i certainly wont be replacing them again

on a positive side off for a walk with my in the sun, or i might hire a mobility scooter, same as her, and have a ride lol, feel worn out today

Afternoon everyone, it`s actually nice and sunny here for a change, hope it is where you are as well.

Socky- oh dear, that young man is going to be very bored now that he`s got rid of all his playthings. Hope he doesn`t expect you buy new ones ! Tough love is a b....r but sometimes we have to be cruel to be kind.

F1 - my favourite saying at the moment is...........

I can only please one person a day.
Today isn`t your day, and tomorrow isn`t looking too good either.;)

re. imagining people naked. I was always told that no-one is better than anyone else and to remember we all have to go to the loo and p... (sorry, tmi) This always comes to mind if anyone is trying to ride roughshod over me and I have a wee smile to myself.

Well, I`m feeling a wee bit pleased with myself today. I finished my crochet project last night. I was going to show off and post a pic but you`ll just have to be patient till I find the camera cable :(

    Evening all

Hectic day - sell sell sell - I have been selling for a few weeks on ebay and advertised locally my mums (and a bit of mine) card making bits she no longer wants - needs a bit of cash as well being retired - had contact from a lady who wanted to come and have a look - 2hrs later phew and a cup of tea or two she left clutching a carrier bag full! also today man came and brought (yes I did say a man!) my knitting machine - so the pocket is a bit fuller and the rooms a bit emptier

Have also decided to sort my stash and that is back in its rightful places - colours together pinks in one bag, blues in another etc etc (its still in about 4 different locations but at least its bagged in its right colours!)

Im sure tidying and sorting is in the air .......................

sock-knitter Im really sorry to have to tell you this and i hope it does not upset you but after reading what you said about son selling his very expensive possessions I looked at the Terms and conditions of Cash COnvertors and you have to be 18! - I may have your sons age wrong but I thought he was 16 - do you think he is just saying this to annoy you or make you give him money - if he is 18 then cash convertors have done nothing wrong - Im really sorry to stir this up but I thought you ought to know - if you need any help with sorting anything Im quite happy to help in anyway I can if you need to complain to the store etc - just PM me xx

I do love a good complaint - anyway Cash COnvertors really annoy me - if sockies son did take all those items in and only got 50 pounds thats just robbery and praying on the vulnerable - Im sorry to say that 16 years ago we were in that position and took bits and pieces in just to get a couple of pound back instantly - im sure it helps alot of people out but I also think it robs the vulnerable (iykwim!)

kathy glad you liked the saying - hope you ok xxx

chalky - calling grandma to be - hope you are ok and not too busy floating on blue wool heaven ................... xxx

Is there going to be a blue wool shortage coming up ??

psso - love your saying - did you get in the wool shop the other day whilst DD brought her shoes? xxx

jean - hope you are having a break from the sweat shop and not working too hard otherwise we will all be forced to come "en mass" and tell you off - whilst staying for at least 2 weeks to make sure you dont do it again! :rotfl:

Anyway Ive got a bit of a headache brewing - its be on and off all week not nice - Ive now said its "my age you know" as I feel at 39ish I can get away with that :rotfl:

Much love and gentle thoughts to all especially those poorly or low
may, prfungi, seakay, k2tog, ptb and all those lurkers and MIAs thinking of you and sending big hugs xxx

PS sockie I meant what i said about helping you so please contact if you need me xxx

f1widow its nice to be back - I have been on an ebay spree too and made a huge hole in the clutter and some nice little bits of cash too - good luck to you:T as for the nasties who make you feel small - get rid - I had loads of people like that in my life and then when I became ill I realised they were not helping, they only drag you down so one by one I ditched them and I feel so much more relaxed - I am not saying its easy to do but its well worth turning on them and telling them where to get off (((hugs)))
sock-knitter everything crossed for you with the bungalow - that would be great:j and huge (((hugs))) for you re your son - maybe he is angry about something and taking it out on you - keep the chin up honey and dont let him see its hurting you if you can. just got back from joshua's flat, and i now feel rather sorry for him. a so-called friend, took advantage of how vulnerable he is, they offered him a nicer, bigger flat, that the lads dad was supposed to own. lad wanted 160 pounds deposit, so he got josh to sell his stuff, using this lads account at cash converters, (my lad is 16, so-called friend is 18) then he rang job centre and sorted son out with a crisis loan too, to make sure he had the rest of the money, plus also some that i had given josh. then the lad said the flat had fallen through and the deposit was non refundable. so-called friend went back to joshuas flat, to calm him down cos josh was obviously worried about losing the money. after the lad left joshua noticed some items missing, including the lap top i got him last xmas. the police have been rang, and joshua has to give a statement tommorrow, but he is unlikely to get his money or things back.
sincerely hope he has learnt his lesson in this and not to believe what his friends tell him, and also not to let people he dosent know well into his flat.

sock knitter we can always listen honey - maybe we cant do much physically but there is always an ear to hear you - you rant away - it does you no good to bottle it up - lets hope the police can trace this young man and do something for your son - he has learnt a hard lesson!
    Peace will be mine
