    Hi everyone

Pippa - the oncologist will want to make sure that there is nothing that can cause any infection once the treatment is underway, so it's very important that OH's teeth are checked. It sounds to me as if the oncologist is doing exactly the right thing. You and OH are in a very frightening place right now, but medicine has come a long long way, especially in this field, and I hope you can take comfort in the people who are looking after him, and be confident in the treatment he will be receiving. Don't forget, we are all here for you. Please post whenever you want, and however you are feeling. You are often in my thoughts, and I wish I could be there with you to give you a hug, but I'm sending a huge one from me to you right now.

Oh Pippa it all sounds quite horrid. Big hugs to you and DH. I wish I had something useful to add. Or a magic wand. As for garages and cars, I could think of plenty of words........

aww lots of huggles for people needed today me thinks...
Pippa you are bound to be feeling yeugh and overwhelmed because it is bleugh and overwhelming....good to hear that you have a treat planned; hope it helps just being people you are comfortable and happy with - often the best medicine I find :) Keep posting though me lovely...sometimes "strangers" are easier to talk to as you can just be yourself and be open in a way you cant with people you know iykwim!
Hope today has been better for you socky. Is there anything we can do collectively to help? How about helping find you a hobby just for you locally so that the eves dont seem as long? Could you do an evening class, maybe go with your mum? Even if its just planning one for now that may help life the lost feeling a bit as you would have something to look forward to?
Miol hope youve receovered from all the wedding entertainment...I dont know...and they say teenagers are party animals!!
kinsey I would shear a sheep if I could; if i had all the money in the world Id have a farm with alpacas, a man to do the hard work so I could potter all day and make jam! How you doing?
Mrs M lovely news about babies!! knitting needles at the ready!
Mixed day here - Brynglas tunnel in Newport was shut so caused ABSOLUTE chaos - gridlocked city all day and had to cancel meetings; took 1 1/2 hours to travel to one meeting nearby and was a mare getting back to the office. Main thing is that noone was hurt and the lorry driver (whose lorry had the fire IN the tunnel) was ok...there appears to be structural damage though which they will need to fix quick as its the main road into Wales and it will be bedlam if its not sorted! Fingers crossed! Home safe and sound and on to knit a nice easy preemie hat!
Totally understand what you mean chalky re the squares - only so much you can do before you go and sure that there will be lots of projects to keep people going while youre off galavanting!
    Hugs for you all...

Well we worked all together, DD1, Doh and ME from 11.00 A.M TIL 4.30 P.M! but Wow it was worth it. All now mega spick and span! Buster went out to be a carpenters apprentice all day!
Pippa -- We send so much love and gentle thoughts. I think things seem so scary at times like this! Accepting little bits and then finding so much more to have to deal with is just so hard. I do hope both you and Doh manage to keep as calm as you can. Hopefully a little chink of light will begin to glimmer from the end of the tunnel! Thank goodness for your lovely family and friends!
Mrs Moneypenny- WHAT LOVELY NEWS OF THE TWINS X
Kinsey No private message has arrived - I don't know where I have disappeared! Hope I get your message soon x Your twins sound lovely!

Shaz-- Hope you are feeling a little calmer x

Well 4 lovely Geezers squares arrived today in a brown envelope.2 Pastels - 1 Red and Cream and 1 Blue, But there was no card inside so I wonder which lovely member sent them?

I am just completing Lappy number 2!!

I am trying to get up to date with my WIP's before we leave next week so its no more butterfly brain here until we return. I am being very MSE with my clothes -- You might remember we had 9 weddings in 2009 so lots of finery to choose from!
It is to be a trip of 2 parts. Buffalo for the wedding then a week relaxing around the Blue mountains and Cape Cod! I think there might be some lovely fabrics round!

We find out on Thursday whether we are to have a Grand daughter or Grandson? Exciting times!
Try and do a good deed every day.

    Happy Birthday, Dawn!

Mrs Moneypenny - great news about the twins!

Chalky - it all sounds very exciting now the time has arrived for your trip! As for grandchildren - in all four of mine, the parents decided not to ask what they were having, so it was a real guessing game, but lots of fun!

ISOM - I saw that tunnel on the news today. Complete chaos, wasn't it?

Shaz - hope things are a bit more relaxed for you now.

Will update tomorrow - I've had loads of work to do today that needs to be submitted by tomorrow, so I've been concentrating on that.

Hope you are all having a good evening.

Shaz - I'm so sorry that you've been badly treated on another thread; it's such a shame that not everyone is kind and decent. You know that you are safe and supported here with us; we know your situation, and know just how hard you try to get things to work out for you and your boys.

:jChalky - that was from me, was just handing it over at PO when I realised I`d forgotten to put the note in the envelope. It`s still sitting here. I did write on `from psso` on the back before I handed it over, but you surely didn`t see it.:o Sorry they`re all different, just been using up the bits and pieces. If they don`t go with the others I won`t be offended if they aren`t used.

Oh finding out if it`s boy or girl, ours were all surprises. None of them wanted to know. When I was expecting youngest DD (little J`s mum) I had to have the amniocentesis done as I was an older mum,38 :o, and we were asked if we wanted to know then as they can tell after that. But we wanted a surprise as well.
Do know of a couple who were told they were having a boy, went and bought everything blue, decorated nursery for a boy, and they had a GIRL.

Pippa - sorry to hear you`ve had a bit of a shock by the sound of it.
Consultants seem to have a knack for dropping bombshells when you least expect it. Big hugs.

Shaz - hope you are a bit calmer tonight. I would be all for chat, cake and wool fondling too. Wish I was nearer.

PTB - happy birthday, hope you had a good one.

Off to have a scone with jam and clotted cream with a cuppa. It won`t be as good as your Chalky but it will do for now.

    Night night.

  • ISOM - we use the fabulous wee super stretchy hat from the Ray of Hope website - it is worked side to side and gathered at the top - no shaping or anything! I use it for my knitting class on a Saturday morning as it makes the pupils think they are ever so clever creating a finished garment that can actually be used so quickly! Ray of Hope is a fantastic source of prem patterns - we use them a lot ;0) We do of course now have oh so many in our Pattern Central on LH - only accesible to registered members when they are signed in mind you but there are such a lot of talented ladies on LH site who have made so many brilliant patterns for us ;0) Our dear Mayflower has made loads and her patterns are very easy and very popular - I get dozens of items in made from her patterns ;0)
