it wont hurt them to go shoppping with you so tell them thats whats happening. i realised after i wrote that theres no such thing as a food shop any more is there (except the freezer places) i wish you well and hope they realise once the initial excitment of newfound freedom has worn off they will realise you are doing everything you do because you love them and care so much.

    Good Morning
Shaz -Hope things seem a lot brighter to day -- I so sgree with Mrs M. Do you think you could give yourself challenges to complete in the evenings so that they do not seem so empty.I do hope this week is calmer for you.A big hug anyway.

Pippa -- A big hug for you and Doh as the treatment begins today. Lots of positive thoughts that it all goes well and soon you will both be able to move on from this horrible time!

Kathy -- Did you have such a terrible Vino Colapso hangover that you had your head under the covers all day yesterday!!

Lots of love to one and all especially all the lovely new people who have recently joined us!:)
Try and do a good deed every day.

    Hi everyone

Chalky - I was a bit slower than usual yesterday, due in part to the Vino Collapsio but mostly because we didn't stop laughing all evening! Mrs Pig has the best sense of humour and a laugh that could demolish skyscrapers; we were sharing stories from our past lives all evening, and it was the best tonic I could have had. We had the most delicious barbecue ribs and sausages, followed by a wonderful curry and, of course, plenty of wine. Also, both boys and their families Skyped yesterday - I love to see them, of course, but it brings me down a bit because I am so far away from them. It takes me ages to get over talking to them that way. I am very grateful for Skype but it also hurts my heart.

Shaz - It's heartbreaking when the children leave home and you need plenty of time to adjust so please give yourself that time. They will naturally be trying to be as independent as they can, so it's a good idea to make a regular date for shopping with them.

Pippa - it's great that OH could have his snooker evening. Wishing you both well for today.

DH has found a bit ceiling that needs plasterboarding (I thought we'd finished with all that!). It's in the utility room and he'd left it because he wanted to move the ceiling light first. Anyway, I've made him get on with it today; I'm longing for him to put all his tools and stuff away once and for all, but I do wonder if that day will ever come. Needless to say, I have had to help!

Anyway, I am working on squares at the moment. I daren't look at the LH challenges because I'm just not getting the time to sit down much. I'll get the squares finished and posted, then take a look at them.

Anyway, off to put the kettle on.

  • thinking of you all today and sending you lots of big squishy cuddles (soft and gentle ones tho' eh), I am absolutely cream
    crackered
but hope that some time this week the body will catch up with the rest of me. Office work today so I have to knuckle down and get stuck in to it.
    Shaz
, be gentle with yourself - you have done nothing wrong, your boys are just stretching their wings and its all a new adventure for them, scary for you tho' as you want to ensure they are on the right track.
Anne and DH thinking of you today and each successive treatment it will all be over really soon

Hi all, it`s Monday again. Where do the days go ?

Roamin - I hope you aren`t running about after your visitors :naughty: put your feet up now and again and ask for a cuppa. I`m sure they know where the kettle is by now and you are supposed to be recuperating.

Socky - keep a hold of the purse strings. If taking them food shopping is the only way to see them and keep an eye on them (from a distance) then they`ll just have to get used to it or go hungry, and we all know teenage lads have hollow legs :rotfl:Keep your chin up and avoid the alchol, just makes you feel worse.

Kathy - glad you enjoyed your evening with Mr & Mrs Pig. Laughter certainly does you a power of good, shame it`s not on prescription.

F1 - hope you get `puter sorted out soon. It`s a bloomin pest when it doesn`t do what you want it to, my one has been playing up too lately, almost at the stage of throwing it out the window like the ad that used to be on tv.

Pippa & OH - hope all goes well today.

Well, almost finished the lemon strips, 3 left to do then assemble and finish off. Chalky, your whispering crochet must be catching. I was up at 4am today, couldn`t sleep so did some hooking, it`s definitely getting addictive. Can`t wait to finish this and start the next project but might have to do some emergency squares first.

Enjoy your day whatever you intend doing and newbies and lurkers, please pop in and say hello, we`ll be glad to see you.

Evening lovelies...how you all doing? #Just home after my long day which was a reeeeally long day as all over the shop!
    Thanks for info re pattern...
Pippa hope that today went as well as it could do...big hugs for you both
Miol...poor mrs pig!! Does make me chucckle when you say that!
Roaming hope youre chilling too...was a tad worried that visitors being run after rather than running for you which is what it sounds like you could do with at the mo...
Psso good that lemon coming on-hope you are on the resting step too!
Socky...you know me - Im of the tough love variety - PLEASE dont give them money; in my experience as soon as you start they'll just see you as a cashpoint and that does no good for your self esteem. Plus, they have chosen to live independently and need to learn what that means - ie that that are independent and are responsible for their keep. Im sure over the months that they will beg and scream but the sooner they have to start standing on their own two feet the better. If they dont learn that then they will be at you all the time for money and as you say you dont have much... - did you get bens advice sorted? Do they have social workers or support workers in the accomodation as they should be helping them with that as its part of the supported living role...? Thats not to say that I dont think you shouldnt support them as you can do that in lots of ways other than with money :)
Chalky hope you are managing some restfulness between trips all over the place!
F1, seakay, fungi, Mrs M; only girl etc hope you are all ok and enjoying the summer (haha! it rained again today!)
Big hugs...off to try finish hat!

isom, went to see benefits advisor at CAB, seems the boys cant claim anything in their own right, and i have to still carry on claiming child tax credits, which dosent sound right to me, going to ring tax credits office up in morn and tell them situation again, and if they say carry on claiming it, then i will. the money i give the boys currently is half each of the tax credit award, which is for their living expenses anyway. and also their dla which i get weekly and give them it weekly.
little monkeys get more than i do, but thats the way it is, i wouldnt get the tax credits anyway if it wasnt for the boys
pippa, hope the daqy went well, for you and you dh, you are both in my thoughts and prayers
pam, (((big hugs))) i know u are lurking out there, and finding things tough right now, keep up the good worrk hun, u know what i mean, and hope we can arrange that meet soon xx
