thanks roaming...its a pretty hard core way to go but with so much to loose the one that works for me. This time though I need to excercise when I get shot of it and am already planning on doing a lifeguarding course that involves having to be fit cos you have to do loads of dragging pretend bodies and be able to swim 27 lengths ...at this stage 2 would kill me!!
Mrs M the eat less excercise more is the way to go with just a bit to loose me thinks!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -
Hi everyone
I'm sorry I've been so neglectful of this thread over the last few days. The first part of the week was spent recovering from the wedding at the weekend (weddings aren't meant to be exhausting for the guests, but this one was!), and I've also had tons of online work to do - yesterday, I was hammering away at the keyboard for a full working day. Can't complain but it doesn't half make the eyes wobble!
ISOM - it's great to have you back. I hope you had a great holiday! I wish you the best of luck with the diet; you sound very determined!
Lou - it's so lovely to hear from you. It's unbelievable how much you have achieved since you first set up Loving Hands, and you must be very proud. Thanks for all the information in your post - it's truly amazing how much people will do to help those in such great need.
Marbella (one of my favourite places!) - a warm welcome to you. I'm sorry I didn't welcome you earlier, but I see that the others here have pointed you in the right direction about us! If you go back to page 95 of this thread, post 95 outlines exactly what we do. Please feel free to ask any questions. We have a spreadsheet that our lovely Roamin in the Gloamin set up for us (click into my name at the side of this post, then go to my 'homepage'). We post our weekly totals in red, then the figures are added up and added to the spreadsheet. It doesn't matter what charity you make things for, so please feel free to post your totals for the items you are already making, and we can add you to our running totals.
Mrs Moneypenny - that's the real bonus to working in school! Both my DILs are teachers; the perfect job when you have young children.
Elaine - I hope the cloud is lifting for you. I can't believe it's two years now since your sad loss, although it's still very early days. I'm sending lots of hugs to you.
Jean - I hope you are able to take a break from searching through all those patterns in the LH collection - it must be quite a task.
I'm alternating between emergency squares and booties at the moment, and I'm also crocheting up all my very fine wool into one big lightweight throw (just a giant granny square, really); I'll have a count up this weekend. I'm sorry I didn't get the update done this week - it's been such a hectic few days - but I will do two weeks together on Monday.
The weather forecast is not so good for any of us, by the looks of things. We have a week of cloud and rain ahead of us. We could do without the rain because it's making the grass grow like mad, and our lawnmower has broken down. It's a big old petrol mower that DH loves, and the ignition coil has broken. The local lawnmower repair shop has quoted €150 for a new one (just for a coil, not a mower!), but I've found a reconditioned one on eBay for £10, which is on the way. I just hope it works!
Well, I'm off for another cuppa. I hope to get out to the shops early, then come back and make DH's 'Saturday' cake, then I shall take some time off this afternoon to just sit and crochet - what bliss that will be; I haven't done it for ages!
I hope you all have a great Saturday!

Thanks, Mrs Moneypenny and Roamin, for managing to quote that post before it got deleted - I thought I must have dreamt that I'd seen it.
