1 cobweb shawl - if you want you can put it down as a scarf kathy its for LH
4 loony loom snowmen - they can go down as toys again for LH

for the features i did this if its any help for people who dont like embroidering them on
mouth - cast on ten stitches then cast off so you get a thin line
eyes - cast on 15 stitches knit one row purl a row then knit another then gather the stitches off the needles onto a bodkin and pull them up till you get a little circle sex the ends together then use the ends to sew in place
buttons - cast on ten stitches knit one row then finish in the same way as the eyes. i do three buttons.
ive sewn my hats on and put a stitch in the back of the neck to hold the scarf onto the snowman.

sending hugs to all those who need them and thinking of the awols and mia's

    Morning all

I havent been in for days so much going on, and I have had a lovely time...:D

DS2 and DGS turned up on Wednesday with all the gubbins for scrubbing the slabs/paths/steps so it was a very busy day, DGS had his all weather waterproof suit on and was helping in his own little way. Until he found Grandads wheelbarrow, then it was decided Nanny could push him round, by Lunch time I was shattered, it will do me good galloping round (well maybe a quick walk);) My legs ached that much on the night I couldnt sit still.
OH was banned from helping he is not well enough yet for that sort of work even though he thinks he is
After we had washed up(2 cups and a plate the rest went in the dishwasher) we (he) decided it was time for an ice-cream so we sat on the patio steps and watched DS2 working hard....O it does make me feel tired watching people work :rotfl:

Then yesterday my friend asked me if I wanted to meet up in town for Lunch and a natter, O and shop of course ;) OH said yes she does so off I went and had a lovely time got back around 3. I was a bit worried leaving OH on his own but he was fine.

Its our Wedding Anniversary today, 44 years its flown by and I have just had a beautiful bouquet delivered sent by OH xxx

well I better go and get something done
    sorry for the ramble :o

    Anne
    xx

Before I forget anyone know how to cast off on a loom, I am trying to do a mobious type cowl, making it up as I go, but suddenly realised ...I dont know how to cast of :o

i just run a gathering thread through all the stitshes and draw them up but ive only made snowmen. i saw someone on one of the tutiorals posted someone casting off to make an open tube- from memory it was crochet the stitch off one peg and put it on the next peg then continue round i think you had to keep moving the stitch you were woring wit onto the peg that was created in the gap. but for you own sanity dont take my word for it its hte lady creating a flat panel on the loom i watched do it.

if you get to about 5.28mins on the time bar youll get straight to the cast off bit - if ive posted the right link

wishing you the happiest day Anne and DH,

    Hi everyone

Pippa - Happy Anniversary to you both. 44 years is amazing!

Jean - I'll try your recipe next, so thanks for posting it. I'd already started a batch when I read it, so I've made mine with onions, garlic, potato, courgettes (of course!), and a teaspoon each of cumin and coriander, and it's delicious! I've blended it (it looks disgusting otherwise!), and have enough for several lunches.

Mrs Moneypenny - I love your way of adding features because I hate embroidering them almost as much as I hate sewing up! I have a panda, a robot, and two teddies that all need eyes and mouths, so I will try your way. The panda I've really been struggling with!

Anyway, off to heat up some of that soup; with some fresh homemade soda bread, it should be a nice lunch!

Pippa -- Happy Anniversary and lots of lovely wishes to you both. Your day with the family sounds wonderful!
All this talk of soup and food has made me hungry all day! I love home made soup but have never tried to make Soda Bread!
    Sounds good though!
Mrs M, --- I am going to resist the snowmen/people in case another obsession follows!!

I have had a lovely day reverting to my true love--- a bit of hooking!!! And the result is lovely XX
Love to all -- Shame about Andy Murray!
Try and do a good deed every day.

Happy anniversary Pippa! Wow thats a good few years - 2 yrs 11 month before I was born you tied the knot! Well done you!
Lol re snowman obsession...Im having a lacy shrug determination-am now on to the 4th lots of wool and using stitch markers which is helping me keep track of where I am on the repeat...hope it looks absolutely fantastic after all this!
Thank goodness its Friday is all I can say..some fantastic progress with some of my YP which is a huge encouragement but some staff remain a frustration plus there is lots of change a foot but noone knows what exactly - were moving but dont know when or where; team to change to one dealing with 16 years and on which in my book is good but does mean more work and less faffing which will be great! Thankfully only 4 days to work until holiday! yahoo!!
When I get back will be doing Cambridge Diet as must loose weight as now absolutely massive and in pain much of the time which is silly...tend to have to do the extreme way rather than the diet which doesent work...have always been a bit all or nothing lol!!
Great F1 that youre doing things as a family and even better that you are out and about - well done you :) Slowly slowly though...dont go too quickly - emotionally or literally lol!
    Lunch sounds lovely Chalky!
Lol re the snowmen addictions...photographic evidence please!
Right must go to bed...shattered and spinning tom!

BIL/SIL are coming up to see us today looking forward to seeing them

chalky - that basket is gorgeous would love to see a pic when all the drapes etc are added...its lovely having a baby to look forward to and a grandchild is :j:j:jso exciting
mrs-moneypenny - Thanks for the link, I reckon squares could be done like that might have a go over the weekend. I did start the snowman but it seemed to be coming out rather holey so I ripped it back, I wonder maybe if I am a loose loomer :rotfl:
ISOM - ooo a lacy shrug can we have a pic when its done please :) How long until you are off on your hols?
psso - you made my mouth water with your veggie bake must try that out. How are you feeling now not doing too much? I hope your weather is better for the weekend
kathy - I love courgettes cooked any which way... but OH is not keen so I tend not to buy them very often, and having to do 2 different meals drives me potty, I not only talk to myself then I have been know to utter the odd naughty word
jean - hope you are resting and taking a back seat on life for a while :)

Last night did some more on the Sands blanket I started a week ago, it seems to be taking me forever, and I'm not even half way through yet but at least I can put it down and not loose my place IYSWIM ;)

Sending big (((hugs))) for all MIA's, poorly's, upset's, or those just needing a cuddle :)

Hope the sun is shining for everyone today

First of all, belated anniversary congratulations to Pippa and DOH.
I`m still taking things slowly but not back to how I used to be yet, thanks for asking.

Well, the sun is shining here today and so is my halo !!

I gave myself a stern talking to yesterday (ooo scary) and told me that I wasn`t being allowed to start anything else until I`d done that scarf. So I ripped it out and started again. Pattern on wrapper put me off I think so I just cast on 15 stitches on biggish needles and did garter stitch all the way till I`d used up the 3 balls. Looks OK as the yarn is multi shades of purple so doesn`t need any fancy pattern. AND all the ends are sewn in too - completely finished.

Went `shopping` in my stash and discovered a 250g ball of pale green baby wool from Aldi, so cast on stitches for a prem baby blanket while watching Saturday Kitchen, that`ll keep me out of mischief for a day or two maybe.

Mrs moneypenny - which pattern did you use for your cobweb shawl, is it on t`internet ?

ISOM - soon be time to pack your case for your hols, bet you are getting excited.

Fridge is looking rather bare so better go and brave the supermarket. Wish I`d gone yesterday before the schools broke up for the holidays, place will probably be seething with bored kids and grumpy parents.

    Back later.

Afternoon lovelies! Was going to go spinnnig but decided to skive instead...do feel quite weary and next week will be busy trying to get all up to date for my week off!! knitting on Monday eve so hope seakay will come...a bribe with my wheel perchance may do it lol! Just got my suntan lotion, PG tips, nesquick etc to take over so have to pick some wool up from john lewis and then am done! Must find passport too!
Am starting to get into the shawl - what a difference the stitch markers make and having A explain the 8 stitch repeat - simple yet effective so know it will be done and fabulous!
Decided when I get back that I must shift some of my vast weight so going the drastic route again - lesser than last time so cambridge diet which means a small meal a day - unliker lighterlife when I ate nowt for 6m! Know I can and must do it as am in constant pain and its at the stage now that my mobility is affected and that just wont do...feel like a 90 year old! Going to have a lovely holiday and then get back to it!
Psso will take you a while to gather strength so just pootle slowly and gradually you will feel better...just one of those you must be patient things. Well done on finishing scarf! I have a no more than 2 WIPs rule - 1 easy and one more complex depending on brain capacity!
Have we heard from May of late? Was also thinking we havent heard from DP pixie, orkney star etc for a while...hugs if youre lurking!
