    Evening all

Well can I just say how much Ive enjoed reading your posts today -

chalky - what wonderful picture definately yummy mummy - i looked awful after i had DS! - The crib is lovely too how nice you kept it looks very sturdy - clearly made in the years when items were made to last - Im sorry to say that DS's items were lent out to someone who was in need and came back lets just say destroyed!

Well what a strange day - i feel like Ive been running around all day and have achieved nothing ....

Also mojo may have gone on holiday with sock knitter !

The snowman has been "snownapped" by DS and now sits on his bookcase - he says it is "immense" (latest word)

And then tonight DH has brought my birthday present early - a bike - - Ive been trying to get out and about a little up the lane and back and showed an interest in his bike - so we have ridden around the road "en famille" (I think that is right??) - which was really nice and somewhat of a first for ages

Have now got to clear up tea things, make lunches for tomorrow etc etc so had better head off

Love and hugs to all you wonderful ladies - xxxx

Evening all, just having a wee break from the wooly stuff so thought I`d come and check up on you.

Chalky - lovely moses basket it`s scrubbed up beautifully. They certainly made things strong and sturdy in those days. Never had for mine - twins first time around and no room (or pennies)for two so they went in the cot, top and tail for many months. DD borrowed DD1`s moses basket for little J but it`s the woven basket stuff so quite flexible/flimsy compared to your one. They do look pretty when the covers are on though, shame babies grow out of them quickly.

Kathy - I use lots of courgettes in veggie bakes. Just take an onion and slice it up,sweat if off in a pan then add any other veg you have lying around in the fridge, add a tin of tomatoes, a pinch of sugar (takes off the bitterness of toms) and any herbs you like. I use dried mixed herbs if no fresh ones. Put in an ovenproof dish, sprinkle with breadcrumbs - fresh not the orange stuff for fish :rotfl:- and some grated cheese on top. I vary it by using crushed up ready salted crisps instead of bc`s. Bake for about half an hour in mod oven. It`s different every time as you use what is available so it`s very good for using up that bendy carrot, couple of spoons of peas or sweetcorn, or whatever`s been left over. Oh, I sometimes add a dash of worcester sauce too. Be lovely with some sausages.

ISOM - you must be cream crackered !! Roll on the holidays.

F1 - you are not alone. I`ve achieved nothing much today either - no running for me though before anyone says anything. :A
Pity DH didn`t get a tandem then you could have sat behind him and just pretended to pedal, make him do all the work.;)

Moved on from IS hats for a while, doing a scarf now with a pack I found in the bottom of the `forgotten` pile. Not sure if it will be for LH or maybe a Chr****** pressie, we`ll see how it goes.

Think I`ll go off to bed with a book now. Night all, see you tomorrow.

ps - just watched that link ISOM. Lots of luvverly buttons !!

Aww poor Chalky, having to talk to yourself `cos no-one else is around..........never mind I talk to myself alllll the time. At least you can`t argue - well maybe you can ?
Hmm, freezer food can be quite `interesting` if you don`t know what you`re defrosting. Some strange combinations occur sometimes, been there.

Not been playing in the sun much here. More showers than sun, weatherman got it the wrong way round AGAIN, and some of them were very heavy downpours..
Weeds are growing like, er weeds, again.

Not enjoying that scarf I started so it might `get lost` again. For some reason I just can`t settle on a project -keep getting the fidgets and can`t really concentrate.Might have to look for new inspiration *sigh* or go back to mindless knitting like prem hats or Sands blankets, no concentration necessary there until the border.

Off to bed for an earlyish night.

    Hi everyone

I hope you are all well.

Elaine - I've noted down your veggie bake recipe and will try that, so thanks very much for that. We've been eating the courgettes in various ways. I think they are a really useful veggie, and I use them a lot; we love them baked in the oven, in curries and ratatouilles (useful if you've run out of aubergines!) and so on, but I've never had so many to deal with in one go!
Today, I'm going to make some soup (lots of it!) then at least it can be frozen.

Chalky - we're on a freezer challenge. I have so much in mine and I haven't done a 'stock-take' for ages, but I'm pretty sure there's enough meat in there for meals for a month, so I'm determined to use it all up before stocking up again.

The weather yesterday was just right, which was great because I had to do changeover at the holiday home, and prep for the next guests. It usually takes around three hours to get the house ready but I have to allow for a chat with the lovely little old lady who lives across the road, who always comes out for a chat! She knows no English at all, so it's good practice for me! I had to guess her age yesterday (luckily, I guessed that she was in her late sixties - a good few years younger than she actually is (80), and she was really pleased), then she showed me all the birthday cards she had received. She was really proud of the one the holiday home owners had sent her, because it was English! She's really sweet and, although she comes across as nosey, at least she's keeping her eye on the house and I don't think much would get past her!

I'd only been back here for half an hour when friends turned up, so the rest of the day was spent doing not very much!

Anyway, I shall try and catch up with all your news today; I don't think I came on here at all yesterday. I hope you all have a good day!
