    Hi all.

Elaine - I hope it's warmed up a bit for you. I'd love to send you some of the heat from here; it's been so warm and at night, too, so it's difficult to sleep. I even managed to get the ironing done this morning, but I had to do it stages because it's not the coolest of tasks!

    F1 - love the snowperson!

Chalky - the needles must be smokin'!

Well, I tried to do some crochet last night but it was just too warm! Will try again this evening.

    Good evening everyone,

Well it's been a LOT cooler today, could have just got used to being warm but no, sun's gone. Heyho.

Sounds like poorlies are on the mend, do hope so, big hugs to you all.

It was William's first birthday last week and his big sister's fifth today so we went over at the weekend. They are lovely children, and we got to play in water and sand outside. I don't know who was dirtiest, me or them. Had a super day though. I've said before that William is the happiest baby I've ever known, just smiles and now goes 'mwah' at everyone. Well I was up for some of that of course, then Katie had to be kissed too, no hardship I can tell you. Oh dear I'm rambling like a fond Nana.

On the woolly front I really must finish some UFO's, then get things posted else I can't buy more wool.

Big hello to all newbies, let us know how you're getting on, love to everyone, xxx

Hello everyone-- This is especially relevant to my lovely hooky friends here.
Has anyone tried to make these
    http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/crochet-baby-converse

I have had DDIL on Skype tonight and she would love me to make her a pair. Now following Crochet patterns is not my strong point-- You might remember the Jan Eaton Book flying round the room!!!
I would love to give DDIL a pair --- We are all so excited and DS bought a rocking Chair for the baby's 12 week scan present and I thought these would be lovely for the 20 week in 5 weeks time.

So I was wondering if one of you lovely people could possibly make me a pair. I of course would cover all wool and postage costs and happily do a swap if there is anything I could make for you-- Cards or maybe a surprise swap parcel?

Please ignore this if you are too busy, or like me find following a pattern where 2 things ( shoes) have to be the same size a nightmare but I thought I would ask.
    Love to all

    Hi all

Kinsey - please give William and his sister a big cuddle from me! What a lovely time you had with them and, of course, it won't be long before Chalky is having days like that!

Chalky - I've made similar and they are very very difficult, I'm afraid. I would hate to put anyone off, but it's best to be warned, I think! They take a lot of concentration and I kept wishing I hadn't started them! If you look here http://www.etsy.com/shop/monpetitviolon this lady has some really gorgeous shoe patterns and you may be able to find something just as good as the Converse but easier to do! She's a lovely lady, too, and will help via email if you have any problems. There will be lots of other patterns there that you'll be tempted by, I'm sure!

I've just had another look and she says these are quick and easy http://www.etsy.com/listing/68433831/crochet-pattern-pdf-file-baby-bottines

Jean and Elaine - thinking of you both and hope things are becoming easier for you.

Maytaurus - think about you a lot and hope that life is treating you as well as it can.

Mrs MW - how are you?

For all those we haven't heard from for a while, we don't forget you, and it would be lovely to hear from you again.

We have friends coming round this morning and the house needs a bit of attention - it's been so warm that housew**k has been a bit sparse lately! It's a lot better today; still sunny but cooler and a lot easier to bear!

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I love this thread. Nothing seems too much trouble, nothing seems inconsequential. It really is like having your best friends on your doorstop.
Elaine -- Thanks for finding that little knitted pair. I will definitely try those!
Kathy-- Thanks for advice. I know myself quite well and patience and tenacity are not strong points in my character!!!! Fast jobs are much more like me!
Jean --- Ohhhhhh Thank you so much for giving them a try! Please don't be afraid to give up if they are too fiddly. I don't want to add any stress to your life at the mo. But if you manage them you are the BEST virtual Auntie ever!!!! I will watch this space !!

Well another bit of advice please --- When I was in Cornwall last week with my friend she said she always gently washes baby clothes after knitting and then presses with a cloth over the top as she says it eases the irregular stitches in ( I definitely do have some of those!!!) Does anyone else do this?

Actually all this really does make me laugh. All this attention to detail and it is for a tiny baby!!!!! BUT actually everyone keeps on beefing up " Oh Nanny will be doing all the knitting etc" and I want to try and make them finished nicely. Sewing up is not another particular strength of mine!!!!

Asa diversion I am busy with a special hooky project at the moment which is coming along nicely!!!!

hi all hope everyone is well

i blame roaming for the fact i never even put the puter on yesterday i decided to have a go using some of the smaller balls of wool from the box id been sent i used two balls at a time for the body and because the yellows were fine i used three of those together for hats and knitted scarves, ive now got 4 flat snowpeople waiting for stuffing and features. there is another 'body' on the loom at the moment. :rotfl:

    cobweb shawl is also finished:T
