    Hi everyone

After a hectic day yesterday, typing at breakneck speed to get a lot of work finished, I have now been able to get the update done. I didn't get last week's done on time, so this update is for the last two weeks. To see the spreadsheet, just click onto my name at the side of this post, then go to my 'homepage'. Please let me know if there are any mistakes, and I will put them right asap!

On the spreadsheet we have always had 'Baby Hats' and 'Beanie Hats'; having completely forgotten to put all the hats together under one category, which was decided ages ago, I have now removed the 'Beanie Hats' and taken the few totals under that category and added them to the 'Baby Hats'. I hope I've explained all that well!

Trifles - you and your totals have now been added to the spreadsheet! You'll see that, although you have made three sets, I have listed them as three of each item, with the jumpers under 'Baby Cardigans'. Also, you may have noticed that we post our totals each week in bold red - this is to make it easier for me to find them when I do the update, so I'd be really pleased if you would post yours in bold red, please! I would hate to miss any items out. I have been a bit behind on the updates this last two weeks, but I aim to do them on Monday of each week using the totals that have been posted up till midnight the previous day. I hope this makes sense, but please ask if there's anything that's not clear! I've been known to waffle on and sometimes the substance of what I say is lost!

Anyway, everyone, I hope you are all doing as well as can be. Chalky - have a lovely time in Padstow; it's a lovely part of the country. Hope the weather is good for you!

Trifles - I love using herbs and throw them on just about anything! As long as you have a window ledge, there''ll be lots that you can grow, so it's worth having a go.

Jean and Elaine - thinking of you and hoping that you are both resting up and following doctors' orders!

Pippa - thinking about you and your OH.

Shaz - hope you are having some peace and quiet.

We are off to visit the farm this afternoon. You may remember me saying that they were planning on running it down because the workload was just too heavy - for Mr 'Farmer' because he's not in the best of health, and for Mrs 'Farmer' because, as she does all the butchering herself (not the slaughtering which is done elsewhere, at an approved ethical slaughterhouse), she was working more or less non-stop. Anyway, their son has decided to move over to live and work with them. It's wonderful news because he will be just what they and the business needs, and he will be able to take a lot of the workload away from them. He sounds like the perfect solution, and it will be wonderful if the farm can be saved - the meat they produce is fantastic and they deserve to succeed but, obviously, not at the expense of their health. I shall keep you posted so watch this space!

After my victory over the bureaucrats here, I still have to wait for an application form, which I will have to send back with a photo and copy passport, then wait again for the Carte Vitale and the French equivalent of the EHIC (which is what this saga is basically all about!). Once I have them in my hot little hands, I can actually go ahead and book the ferry back home - it's been nine long months since I've seen everyone (apart from seeing them on Skype), so my visit is long overdue!

Anyway, I'll call back later. Hugs to all in need.

    good morning everyone
having a quiet morning today, daniel has gone into school to revise and do his final exam.
bought womans weekly knitting and crochet mag yesterday, dont usually buy this one, but there is a gorgeous cardigan in it, that looks easy to do. the only thing putting me off is the neckband is knitted seperatly and sewn on, hate sewing, is there an alternative (easy) way of doing the neckband?
went to hobby craft yesterday, and found a pettern i like for some sirdar crofter wool that i bought towards the end of last year, plan on starting this soon, as its just plain stst, and can be done with both lads around.
kathy, thanks for the pm, have re read it many times, as it such a positive story, have finally got round to pm'ing you back
    chalky, enjoy your day out
pippa and your OH, you are both in my thoughts and prayers, big hugs

off to sit with my mum this afternoon, as she is having an alarm installed and cctv camera's, she dosent like anyone in the house now.
she is really down, and i dont seem to be able to be of help to her, feel useless, wanted to buy her something nice, her birthday is next month too, and offered to take her shopping, and all she can say is no point, as if i buy her anything, somebody will just come and steal it anyway. my dad is not much help either. going to buy her some flowers to take with me this afternoon, any other suggestions to cheer her up would be most welcome.

big hugs to all, and thanks for allowing to post on here, and get things off my chest, your all such wonderful people

mrs m - oooo lucky you - I wont tell you how i much i paid for my looms (it is not very MSE!) they are fun though - have not mastered nearly as much as they will do (flat bottomed hats - bags - flat knitting - different patterns) - about a week ago I posted a pic of two hats - purple mock cable and a blue one that DS made on the loom - basic is really easy (only trouble is it makes my thumb and finger sore - trust me!) - happy "looming" xxx

i didnt realise the mock cable had been done on the loom F1:T. well done to your DS. my ds is usingthe red loom at the mo btu when he puts it on his head (with the loom still attached:rotfl:) it looks a bit tight so i may persuade him he needs to go up a size and use the green loom. he could keep going on this for now and make a long tube scarf.
what size do you use for hats?:)

hope all are well thinking especially of the poorlies and those with friends and family they are worried about

SK i hope your parents feel more secure once the alarm is fitted i really do despair of some of the scum in the world today

Hello - just popped on with a quickie for Mrs M

mrs m - totally my fault confusing the issue - the mock cable is done by hand - it was in the picture along with the one that my DS had done on the loom (page 176 on here post number 3514 - hat on left is prfungi's lovely pattern post no 3504 which is a very addictive mock cable I think Jean was loving doing this as well! - hat on right is one on the loom done by DS)

    For a baby I use the smallest loom I have 4 - 5.5" (baby) - 7.5"(Child)- 9.5" (adult) - 11.5" (huge! never used it hee hee)

Ive probably totally confused you now :rotfl::rotfl: and feel a "la la" moment has befallen me - come back k2tog you understood my la la moments !!!!

Having caused confusion I am away for a cuppa and a Toffee Dodger which OH kindly brought this morning .......................xxx

    back in from work
posties just been with a lovely big box of wool must nip in lh and thank the sender

i understand about the loom hats now:), i was pondering at work how i could mock cable on the loom, the booklet that came with it suggests neck cowls or cushion covers for the biggest loom

come on share out, pass the toffee dodgers round
