    :hello:

Can i ask for some Crochet square help please, I borrowed the Jan Eaton 200 crochet blocks book from the library and am having trouble getting the tension right. Trying to do block 99 where you go back and forth . Using the size hook suggested they were too big, went down a size hook and the width was fine but the block ended up 6 X 8. Went down another hook size and the width is only 5 inches. :(

What size are you trying to do? Possibly use mid size hook and add a few stitches...my tension is quite tight so thats what I usually do...hth?

    Hi Anakat

I wonder if you are doing the US version of DC.?

    The pattern is written using UK Terms so a DC is ;

c2red2st.gif Insert hook in the next stitch to be worked.
c2red2st.gif Yarn over hook, pull yarn through = 2 loops on hook!
c2red2st.gif Yarn over hook, pull yarn through the 2 loops on hook. =
    dc made

If you are using a US DC this is the equivalent of a UK Treble (triple), so your end result will be longer than the pattern.

    luv

    Afternoon all

We all had a great time on Friday night nice meal, good company, what more could a girl ask ....ooo and a glass of pop...yes really
had to be up and out early Saturday for the hospital appt so I needed a clear head. All went well and results will be with the surgeon on Monday

We have to be at the QE at 7:30am on Tuesday for OH's op, maybe this means he will go down early hope so

OH had a lovely Fathers day yesterday the lads and their families decided to spoil him a bit, and it was lovely to see the grandchildren making a fuss of him. They took us to a golf club over Walsall way for a meal and it was wonderful (so posh) and in a beautiful setting

psso - no headache for me but watch this space ;) I hope you are a bit less achey today
kathy - I hope I havent missed the update :o I will post mine after this if thats ok? I have a couple of things from Jo as well.

My friend came bearing gifts on Friday night yep you've guessed it a huge bag of wool, so I used some last night on some squares. I am so lucky she always thinks of me when she sees wool going begging or reasonably priced :)

Sending lots of (((HUGS))) to all in need, or maybe not in need but just want a pair of virtual comforting arms around them xx

    Hi everyone

I hope you are all OK. I've been up to my neck in work for the last few days. One of the companies I work online for must have taken on some new clients, and I've done fourteen articles since Friday, with another three still to do! I definitely can't complain, but most of the deadlines have been very short, so I've had to concentrate on getting them done, at the expense of such exciting things like the ironing! My eyes are a bit wobbly now having been staring at the screen, either typing or researching, for what seems like days and days.

Anyway, I'm just gathering up the totals ready for the update, which will be covering the last two weeks, not just one, because I didn't manage to get it done last week. So, Pippa, you certainly haven't missed it! I wish your OH well and hope the early start means he will be the first down to theatre. Sounds like he had a lovely Father's Day!

Mrs Twins - what a fantastic giveaway from Chalky! You must have been thrilled and it was such a good day to receive it, wasn't it?!

Well, it's been some time since Jean posted so, Jean, if you're reading this, I do hope you are OK.

Well, off to have a cuppa and to rest my eyes for a bit!

Hi Mrs Moneypenny - I bought that kit years ago from a charity shop and I've never used it! I should do, though, now that I find proper knitting painful to do because I read somewhere that you can do flat panels with it as well as working in the round, and it would make a change from crochet. I'm so glad you reminded me of it! It's brillliant that your DS is enjoying it - you'll have to keep him well supplied with wool to keep up with him! Now, where on earth did I put it?

Hello'everybody! Have not caught up with the thread due to long stints of shifts,so please excuse me if I seem not to be replying to anyone with troubles or concerns just now.
Have just finished 3 sets of jumpers and beanie hat sets:jAm not the best knitter, and hope they will be good enough:oI can't see any mistakes in them that I haven't sorted so hopefully OK.Will post these to Lou when I get paid next week.
Have been eating a lot of HM soup lately as it's so cold here! But since a friend kindly gave me some herb plants for a recent birthday,it's been a real pleasure to be able to jazz up plain food with just cut herbs:Dfeel quite decadent!Never grown stuff to eat before-have only window ledges-but now,who knows:rotfl:
Will send out positive thoughts tonight when I light my nightly candle for anyone who would like to receive them. Hugs xx
