Sock Knitter, your poor parents, do the cops know just why or who is doing this? Third breakin just is a step too far, would alarm be any good - or do people just ignore them?........how about a huge big dog? Send them all my love and good vibes they must be shattered.
Moiliere - keep at them you will wear them down and get that elusive carte vitale ....it just takes it toll all the running around to get things done, have you approached your local mayor....always very helpful?
Kinsey - not sure audio books would be any good for me...I usually garrote myself on the ipod as I move around far too much (even when resting) but thank you for thinking about me,
Off to do a tiny bit of sewing, will pop back later folks - till then ye all be good

Hello to one and all and lots of love tucked in too!
Special gentle thoughts Jean,Ginnyknit,,Elaine,Pippa and DOH and Shaz and of course for anyone else who could just do with one!
Heavy showers here -- Buster is going out between them!
I had thought that the little hedgehog hospital very close to me had run out of steam with the hedgehogs that I make which helps so much with postage and wool costs. But all of a sudden an email came through and I had not one prickle in reserve!!!!!! So that was it focused attention resulting in a delivery of 30 this morning. I literally was so happy to deliver them and drove straight from there to the --- WOOL SHOP --- Bliss. That little lots is bound for Spain and my winter Charity knitting as I really don't like the reasonably priced wool there. It is sooo Hard!
Well we are off to North Devon again this weekend -- Buster is coming too!! DS and DDIL need a bit of help in the new house and we love spending time together so that will be lovely. I have a Lasagne to make to take this evening which will be great for supper tomorrow as they are both at work all day!
Well I have to get to the Post Office as dear Mrs Twins won my giveaway on my blog so it needs to wingits butterfly wings to her.
Will pop back later!Try and do a good deed every day.0 -
Hi everyone
Shaz - I am so sorry to hear the news. Your poor parents, having to go through that again - life just isn't fair, is it?
Mrs Twins - I still have squares to post, and now I shall be tempted by your latest challenges! I shall have a sort through what I've done so far and decide whether to post them off now, or wait until I have a few more. Well done on winning Chalky's giveaway, by the way!
Well, Jean - there can be nothing sweeter than beating the French at their own game, and this afternoon I did! I told RSI that I didn't think I should be expected to provide an officially-translated birth certificate when CPAM got by with my original British one. I think I may have looked a bit stern (another matter in our lives has totally enraged me lately, so I'm not to be messed with at the moment!), and I stood my ground. I suggested she photocopy it, then translate the photocopy, then stamp it, and she did! I thanked her very much, then I walked out of there with my hand in the air and a shout of 'victoire' which produced a few Gallic stares, I can tell you! Anyway, the next stop would have been the mayor but, luckily, I didn't need to go that far! Oh, it feels so good!
Well, I'm now trying to focus on some written work that I've just been asked to do, but I need a cuppa first.

Evening all, just popping in to say
GO GIRL KATHY - yay, well done on achieving your mini victory. A step nearer your visit to family.
Sock knitter - your poor parents, what have they done to deserve this ? High time the police caught them. Hugs to all of you.
Pippa - hope all goes well with the scan. Our hospital does scans on Saturday mornings and also has a late list,3 evenings till 7.30 - DD1 is a receptionist in the MRI department and takes her turn on the rota.
Kinsey - thanks for offering audiobooks. I went to the library to stock up on them and also ordinary books, knowing that I would need them.
Still no knitting or crochet being done, so I`m bored rigid. Don`t like tv much, very few programmes I watch. So frustrating having all this time available to sit on my derriere and I`m not able to do anything wooly.
Hopefully things will ease in the next couple of days and I`ll get back to it.
Off for a cuppa and another few pages of the book.

Evening all! Isoke says thank you for the cuddles auntie Kinsey and said to say she is feeling much more herself thanks to drugs of the antibiotic and pain killing variety! Shes back to normal antics and having great fun with my new stash basket that I found today and has already turned it over!!
socky my thoughts and prayers for your poor mum and dad...thats just awful; can the police assist in getting them grants for added security? May also be worth contacting victim support...How are things for you?
Just had a mamouth wrapping session for post office trip tomorrow...did a wee bit of stash shopping of the silk and bare wool variety for spinning! Am still doing the bolero which is looking lovely and warm!

Hi everyone, and thanks for the kind comments on my victory! I'm still smiling about it!
ISOM - the French actually stop at midday for at least two hours then, when they come back to work, they are too stuffed from their meal to do anything other than chill out! It does drive me mad and would be the number one thing that I would warn about to anyone thinking about coming here to live. I had heard about it but had no idea just how bad it really is! Hugs to Isoke.
Elaine - it must be difficult but you are doing the right thing. It won't be long before you can do some more woolly stuff!
Jean - hugs to you; hope you are resting up.
Anakat - lovely squares of yours on Mrs Twins's blog!
Chalky - I keep meaning to say that I still have your list of recommended books; I've almost finished reading one of them, The Kite Runner - what an amazing book. I find it difficult to get it out of my head. I'm at the part where Amir has just woken up in hospital in Peshawar, and I'm racing to get to the end! I'm off to another book fair at the weekend; I always keep your list with me!
Well, I have some online work to do this morning, so I'd better get a wiggle on.
I hope you all have a great day!
