SOCK KNITTER-have been catching up on the thread and was so sorry about your parents.Karma has a way of catching up on people, although that won't help your parents just now.Keeping them in my thoughts.
Weather here is awful-feels like autumn and yesterday was the summer solstice!
Making some card sets as presents for friends trying- to make a selection suitable for most occasions and putting some stamps in with them.Thought it would be a practical present that saves time and hassle.
Started to look for some stamps in Cupboard of Doom but wish I hadn't as I made even more of a mess and realised I had so much junk in there to clear out I filled 2 black bags and not finished yet:o No cards of course:D but I suppose thats cleared a bit of space anyway.
Hugs to anyone who would like one xx

  • Oh yes please F1 I will be on your sofa promptly for the next episode.........speaking of cupboards of doom, I would just like to say I don't have one........I do however, have a HOUSE OF DOOM - whilst looking around this morning I gave myself a proper fright.........no ironing has been done in over a month, the dust is inches thick everywhere and there are cobwebs off every beam on every ceiling, the last steam mop around was also over a month ago, don't think that DH knows where the bleach is kept either and I shan't mention the walk in shower cubicle.........boy oh boy I hope I have the power of the BEND and STRETCH back soon...first of the summer visitors due next Friday night - its DS -so he doesn't really count but as the boys will be away for that first week following Le Tour de France (down near Moiliere), I just might get the chance to do a little bit of tidy up, there again I could just continue with the little crochet heart blanket and forget the rest. Hope you are all fine and dandy, I am improving daily - well till the next treatment when I just go back into the temporary meltdown. Loves and Cuddles to you all.

By the way jean its only me and you on the sofa - the others have all left us - big hugs and take care xxx

    Hi everyone

I can't believe I haven't been on here for a couple of days! I've had a lot of online work to do, which I can't complain about because I like the pennies! I also did something a bit foolish on Wednesday. DH has been painting the outside of the house, and he came across a wasp nest just outside the conservatory door. It wasn't a huge one but, as he hates wasps (with good reason because they do seem to go for him while ignoring me!), he wanted to get rid of it before painting that side of the house. Normally, I do a wasp check every now and again and get rid of any when they are at the 'starter' stage, with fly and wasp killer. This nest was a bit too big for that, so I used some foaming wasp nest destroyer. Well, it did the trick on the wasps and nearly did for me, too! You spray it from ten feet away, which sounds like a safe distance, but I must have breathed some in because later that day I was really short of breath and felt like I had the 'flu. This lasted for around twenty four hours, then I started feeling a lot better, so I know it wasn't the 'flu. I can only think it must have been the spray I had used on the wasp nest. Anyway, I feel as right as rain now, but next time I use that spray, I shall wear a mask! I feel daft because I did think of putting one on but I couldn't be bothered to look for it; serves me right!

Anway, Pippa - I'm so glad that your OH is back at home.

Jean - I know you want to do lots but I do hope that you are not doing too much. I hope the next treatment goes well, and that the meltdown isn't too severe. Thanks for posting all those links to loom patterns; when I can find my nifty knitter, I shall have a go!

I haven't done a lot of crochet this week, just some more squares. I'm using up all the odds and ends of wool - I need to make room in my stash for my next big shop in the UK.

Although I won my battle with the red tape here, I still have to wait for application forms, so I'm still at the mercy of the French! I shall try and hurry them up next week - things here really slow down in July and even more so in August because it seems that everyone in France goes on holiday at the same time, so I hope I can get everything sorted out soon.

Well, I hope you are all keeping as well as possible. I haven't caught up with the posts over last couple of days, but I'll try and catch up with you all later.

    Hello dear knitters,
I used to knit several years ago, things like socks, gloves etc. Now I want to knit baby stuff ( newborn +) . Does anyone know of good sites for simple baby things. I have 4 skeins - 2 white, 1 beige and 1 maroon.
    Thanks!
If you feel my post has been useful, " merci" would not go amiss.

Hello all  just taking time out for a quick squiz on here...

All's well in the Suggs household (nickname from boys school pals) OH is taking it easy, I have to keep an eye on him or he will be up to all sorts...thinking he can carry on as normal, which of course he cant
He is very swollen and rather blue, but as I told him blue has always suited him :rotfl:
The appointment came through yesterday its 6th July at the Max Fax clinic in the old QE

mrs -moneypenny - Mum bought me a set of looms from Redicut must be a couple of years since...they are still in the packet :o... but having read all you and others have said I am itching to have a go, will have a bash over the weekend
f1widow - ooo TENKO one of my all time favourites, must have a look see if its on today. Stephanie Cole who played Dr Beatrice in Tenko, is in Corrie now as Roys Mum, I said to OH when I saw her I wish they would put Tenko on again...well they must have heard me :T
jean - hope you are taking it easy, housework can wait its a never ending task anyway getting better is more important :)
Shelley - have done a few things for you, started a sands blanket but it is slow going,I might just do a plain one I'll see how I feel when I have done a bit more
psso - hope all is well with you
Puppetlady - a couple of hats on the way to you
shaz - hope your Mum and Dad are feeling more settled now

Well off to sort something out for lunch, its a bit difficult as OH cant eat anything too hard or that has to be chewed too much as its quite painful ....think it will be soup and yoghurt for pud. Salmon, mash and peas for Dinner tonight so that should be easy for him
(((hugs))) for all feeling under the weather and not quite tickety boo x
